The Quran does not pronounce us as Sunni or Shia but only as Muslim. However, some Muslims present themselves as the only group practicing the right Islam. But I only want to be addressed as a Muslim, that is what the holy Quran calls us.
You're right. However, you've missed the point. Fundamentally, Shi'a, Sunni, Ibadi, etc are all Muslims. It is their understanding and interpretation of Islam that leads to sectionalisation.
Dear brother, it is easy to say "I don't belong to any sect", but in practical, you are follow a particular sect. For example, how do you perform Wudhu? Do you wash your feet or wipe it? If you're washing it, then you follow the Sunnis. If you're wiping it, you follow the Shi'as. And how do you pray? Do you loose your arms or fold it? Then how do you fold it? To the chest or bellybutton or in-between them: all these are different views. Which one do you practice, and which one is correct? Anyone you do, you will be identified by that without you open your mouth that I am this or I am that.
What is important is "knowing the truth, and you will recognise the people of the truth."

Sunnah simply means practice or acts of doing things. Every commandments and forbiddens in the holy Quran are theory while the acts of doing the do's or avoiding the don't are is Sunnah.
Observing five daily prayers regularly is the nos Sunnah after believing in oneness of Almighty God
We are in the month of Ramadan now, any fasting Muslims are practicing Sunnah
Doing good to your parents, family, friends, Muslims, Non Muslims and every creatures is Sunnah
Forbidden all what the holy Quran said we should forbid is Sunnah
Zakat and Hajj are Sunnah
Above are the compulsory Sunnahs according to the holy Quran
If someone is doing all the above, Sir , can you tell me that the person is not a Muslim or can you say he's going to hell fire
Any other Sunnah aside of the above are voluntary (non compulsory).
