I hold gold, I save in it, it still does better than any high interest account, but let's face it, it's never hitting that price (at least not inflation adjusted), BTC is de-monitising gold.

You need energy to take Gold out of the ground and once it is mined, that energy is essentially stored in it and you do not need to spend money maintaining it, unlike BTC. Plus, you can make billions of coins with the same properties as BTC on faster/more efficient networks. So who cares about the supply cap on one of those billions?!
