I have always been obsessed with Orcas, for as long as I can remember. When other teenage girls had posters of Bon Jovi, AC/DC, and Poison on their walls, I had Orcas and sharks on mine. Still do, although now they are grown up prints and paintings.
So I was right. We know about 20% of the ocean now. So 80% is unmapped. They are referring to the ocean floor when they say this. The entire surface of the ocean has been explored and mapped.
In 1977, Japanese fishing trawler Zuiyō Maru caught a weird looking carcass that resembled a dinosaur. They had to let the carcass go, due to an extreme amount of foul stench that was completely unbearable. That was an interesting incident. Look for 'Zuiyo-maru carcass' in Google to see the photo of the creature.
I know but four years it sure looks like a rotting carcass of a plesiosaur. We all got dreams. I have more faith in North American Bigfoot being Gigantopithecus and existing.
I know that there are weird creatures on the water. In my country, there was a video capturing a long snake-like creature being washed ashore by a huge flood on a small community. It was even alive still, because it still moved. But it went back with the tide and idk, it was weird.

I like the idea of exploring the oceans and discovering the creatures, but I'm mindful of how it is done. I don't think it's possible to physically map the oceans without someone physically going down, (well it is but it can cause a lot of disturbance to the inhabitants and drastically change the structure of areas). And I also think it's good to preserve the ancient and evolving life within, and I know that's part of the goal for the many people that work in/have interest in this subject. But I always wonder, what if, what we think is helping is actually causing damage.
The blobfish is apparently only goop at the surface due to such low pressure and has been said to be in extreme pain and constant suffering in that state, I can’t remember where I heard it, but apparently at its proper depths it actually looks like a kinda normal fish
Actually what you perceive to be the blobfish is not actually at all what the blobfish looks like. Google an alive blobfish which looks more like just a regular fish. The pinkish blob that most people identify the blobfish with is actually a dead fish that was pulled up too quickly from it's habitat which is basically at the bottom of the ocean. That's why it turns into a blob it's skin adjusted to living that far down and it being pulled up destroys the cells and turns it into a pink blob hence the name blobfish...

My 11 year old son LOVES this channel... so this entry is for my Pickle ❤ #origin "My favorite sea creature is the Megalodon or the Crackin" ~Benjamin~
Another very enjoyable posting Katrina.....my favourite has to be the squid/octopus. I do think that the existence of a megalodon is not something science can definitively comment on as they are often as surprised as anyone when something that shouldn't exist turns up (coelacanth being one such example) #origins
The jaws, teeth, and tongue of the 1st creature make it pretty clear that the corpse was that of some sort of crocodile. As for the rest of the body, that could just be bloating from decay (or just photoshop). When rotting meat start sloshing off the bones of the limbs it becomes a bit shapeless and could be mistaken for a "flipper". Also why assume that the "mystery shark" that ate the tagged shark be some sort of super gigantic goon that swallowed its prey whole? Great white sharks are more than capable of ripping whatever they prey on into smaller chunks for easier swallowing. Is it so hard to imagine that a perfectly within normal size range specimen of shark just happened to tear the right part off and swallowed that. Or maybe some orcas did it. They are very picky and fussy and sometimes eat only a tiny portion of their prey. As for "furry" whales, when blubber decays they can split into tendrils that looks vaguely like "hair". This isn't a new phenomenon, this process has been observed again and again and again. It's actually also incredibly gross. The last furry "whale"s were incredibly primitive species from a hell of a long time ago from southern coastal seas around India, Pakistan, Africa, and such. Not Russia. What's the actual credentials of the so called scientist who said this might have been a furry whale trapped in ice age ice? Meglodon was a warm water creature. The probably reason they went extinct was that the warm water prey they fed on started evolving to live in colder waters instead and they couldn't change fast enough to follow. The Mariana trench is cold and there's not enough food there. Fishermen exaggerate or straight up lie. They have always done so. It's an ego thing. That is also not something new.
In fact our ancestors coexisted with megalodons, this happened when they are living in the sea. The ancestors of the killer whales wanted to beat the megalodons with us and we accept that “friendship” because our ancestors knew that sharks are not very friendly so they worked with killer whales. Before that the killer whales wanted leviathan whales to help them, but they refused, so later we won. This also explained why are wild killer whales are so friendly to humans.

I love love love the humpback whale, just such beautiful mammals and majestic jumps that are just breath taking. Would love to see one in the ocean one day! #origins also big fan of this channel and Kathrina (sorry if I spell your name wrongly) with such a lovely voice!
Not really fair to call the Blobfish ugly! If a human, even an attractive one, was suddenly transported to an environment with virtually no air pressure, they'd look fairly ugly too!
I always found whales 🐋 🐳 very interesting because of their massive size so I would say they are my favorites, but I'm also fond of the megalodon is they still exist which I highly doubt. #origin
Actually no skeleton has been found representing a mermaid, therefore your opinion is quite stupid. And we know that the megalodons are extinct since whale parts would be washing up on shores 24/7.
Alpha was likely eaten by a giant squid. Or a sperm whale. The globster with the teeth could have been an orca/some other porpoise crossbreed, or a stillborn with physical deformaties. The megalodon would be able to eat sperm whales or giant squid because they do go that deep. Giant squid would not show much evidence that mostly they would be eaten or decomposed before reaching shore. Greenland sharks do actually go deep like that by having such slow metabolisms that their energy needs have all but put them in hibernation, moving just enough, very slowly, for their gills to move water. They also have a chemical in their body that allows their blood and tissue not to freeze, mskinv them toxic to eat without proper preparation. Because of their slow metabolisms, greenland sharks live for much longer. Megalodon, or a deep water descendant, could have the same adaptations. At that point, the issue would be overfishing, as megalodon need absolutely massive stretches of water and protected ocean beds as baby shark nurseries. Because of this their extinction may have been a very recent thing due to habitat loss for breeding due to trawling. We may just be seeing the last living members of a functionally extinct species due to loss of breeding grounds, as they can live for hundreds of years theoretically if they have similar adaptations to the greenland shark. They might also be present in colder or deeper water than we would expect, making their habitat far less well explored, and making us less likely to know they're there, as admittedly we're not looking for them. As for my favorite sea creature? Tough call... I think maybe either the blue fin tuna or the california sea lion.
Aww I have to pick just one amazing sea critter? It seems so bias and unfair to do so. They are all equally worthy of love and admiration. The sea abounds with such a wonderous variety of life. I am also intrigued by the lovely narrator with the beautiful, angelic voice. So pleasant and relaxing it is. May the narrator have a most wonderful day!😄 #origins

The meg is real because once I was on my way to France in my mum's car on a bridge I looked at the water and I saw this 156ft-257ft long shark when we got on the boat later on I saw it again but this time it came out the water and hit the boat the captain told us not to worry but everyone was panicking after we got to France it appeared again under the bridge this time I knew we were it's prey so I told my mum to speed up because I kept on seeing the shark after we got to the hotel the beach was across from my room so I could look out my window and look at the beach but again I saw it I don't know how it got from London to France but all I know is it was the same shark

also big fan of this channel and Kathrina (sorry if I spell your name wrongly) with such a lovely voice!
The hairy sea monster looks like falcore from never ending story
Im pretty sure the really big furry thing is either a mammoth or some sort of alligator
Go look up scp 682 … we found da child
@@DevTheDemongirl first it would just regenerate in second it is a land animal third say it is 682 they would just make us forget.
True…
Not really fair to call the Blobfish ugly! If a human, even an attractive one, was suddenly transported to an environment with virtually no air pressure, they'd look fairly ugly too!
I always found whales 🐋 🐳 very interesting because of their massive size so I would say they are my favorites, but I'm also fond of the megalodon is they still exist which I highly doubt. #origin
NO ONE person KNOWS what lies in our oceans, our seas, so ANYTHING is POSSIBLE, that includes the Megalodon, and even Mer-people!
Actually no skeleton has been found representing a mermaid, therefore your opinion is quite stupid. And we know that the megalodons are extinct since whale parts would be washing up on shores 24/7.
My favorite was the blobfish. The "nose" reminds me of a cartoon. If I'm chosen, may I get the Origins Explained one. Thank you.
reminds me of popeye
@@kellz6266 popeye nose is not that big
May the narrator have a most wonderful day!😄

Super interesting
#9. IS known as the dreaded 'EX WIFE'.
There’s no number 9 there’s only 8
@@islaand NO. 9 wasn't on the list! It's TOO mysterious. ;)
Possible. I even think some dinosaurs exist.
Not necessarily. There isn’t any proof. I kind of also doubt it would be that big. Megs are said to be 60ft, I believe. Maybe it was a school of fish?
Maybe you have a new friend.
😱
It the megoladon moved yo deeper water it would no longer be a megoladon it would have changed so much especially teeth for different prey .the megamouth might be a closer relative
The lineage containing Megalodon is extinct. There is no direct descendant to the megalodon.
My favourite see creature is a great white shark! #origins ❤️
