To be fair, you didn't just pay for the Coke torso, you also paid for the polybag it came in itself. So both are special. But if any minifig's the true embodiment of capitalism, it's Mr. Gold. Not only because of his look, but he caused so many to go after him in 2013, making a mess at Lego Minifigures boxes as they frantically try to make a thousand bucks.
I remember when I was younger I was always eager to find Mr. Gold, although luck wasn't in my favor I still enjoyed going through the process, those were good times

Although mr gold seems rare, there is 1 piece even rarer than him. Its more expensive because of money/part ratio. The part im talking about is the bionicle visorak body in pearl gold color. They originally arrived in 8759 Battle for metru nui. Just as the set was about to retire lego pulled away flat dark gold color they normally used and replaced it with new pearl gold one. This change caused some visorak bodies which used flat dark gold to recive new pearl gold color (exactly one last batch of the set), making this official piece ungodly rare. Mr gold costs 3K dollars for 10 pieces, which sums up to 300$ per piece. Meanwhile the said visorak body costs more than 1K $, plus its a SINGLE PIECE.
There actually more to the story to why the Mr. gold minifigure is so expensive. The Mr. gold minifigure is actually a banned lego product because everyone was super greedy about getting this Mr. gold minifigure that it soon led to chaos, so Lego had to ban the product and Lego never did a limited minifigure for those surprise minifigure bags again.

The TRUE holy grails of Lego minifigures are the solid bronze C-3PO from the 2007 San Diego Comic Con and solid 18K white gold R2-D2 from 2018. The bronze C3-PO was given away as part of a raffle, while the solid 18K white gold R2-D2 was part of a giveaway for Millennium Falcon black VIP card holders (which you could only get this VIP card if you purchased the 75192 Millennium Falcon back in 2017; having this card gave you exclusive offers in 2018). Monster Legends is basically force feeding your pets constantly without no digestion until they get stronger to eat more food force fed to them and having to only eat tomatoes
One thing that's clear is that "rare" and "valuable" don't always match in the world of LEGO. I have quite a few pieces that I would call rare but not all of them are valuable. By the same token just because something is selling for a high price doesn't mean every individual who owns that item could sell it for that price. I have a Cloud City Boba Fett figure that is really rare and expensive (even in well used condition) but since I am in Australia actually finding someone willing to buy it would be difficult.
It's still insane to me how expensive some of these older minifigs are. I still got Jango or that random Jedi that came with the first gunship just sitting in the basement.
I have literally no idea about rarity but whenever old minifigs come up I always think of the Medal Luke, and Han minifigs that I had. Key is had. They were stolen away by other children. This isn't a tale of my parents dismissing me mind, me and my mother literally just never learned who stole them.

One could buy a real goat cheaper than the Lego version. I have got round this by making some of my own animals, including cows, pigs and dogs, from existing Lego bricks! Enjoyed the video, TD.
