I dont think divorce is a failure. Its getting a fresh start, its getting the life you want, its ending a toxic or a relationship that dont work for you anymore. Its a good thing that modern women get the ability to have because they are financially independent.

The way she talks about it ending without a fight seems like they just "fell out of love"/drifted apart. She said she calls their 17 year long relationship a success and not a failure. Sounds pretty amicable to me.
