    Tomorrow night I'm off to pick up my 16yr old daughter who just completed the Kokoda track. I knew it would be extremely tough, but after watching this, i'm super proud of her and have enormous respect for our diggers.

    Those porters! They must be so fit. They not only walk the track but carry the bags of the other participants. When it's over they probably have another group waiting for their services. Incredible. And just as incredible is how those soldiers walked the track carrying all their gear and on a diet of tinned beef and biscuits. (If you have never seen that tinned beef it is a fatty, gelatinous mess. Not very nutritious).
    What a wonderful documentary.

    What a spectacular viewing experience. It's almost 2am and wish I'd found this video much earlier. Just couldn't stop viewing it. The Best hour + that I have spent in a while.

    Thanks for the upload. Everyone hits the wall at some point on the trail, it's just what you do when you hit the wall that counts. Speaking as a trek survivor 2008 greatest thing I've ever done.

    Thank you so much. One of the best documentary I have ever seen. So much emotion in it. I laughed, I cried and I appreciated what mateship is all about. As a Papua New Guinean I say thank you once again. #PNG #AUS ❤️

    They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
    Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
    At the going down of the sun and in the morning
    We will remember them.
    Lest we forget

    My girlfriend and I trekked Kokoda when I was nearly 41 and she was 40 it was the hardest thing I have ever done but it was the most amazing experience. Our porter's were a godsend I don't think I could have done it without them

    We owe so much to our Australian soldiers who fought and stopped the invading Japanese in conditions that would of been hell on earth.
