The prayer of Jesus is that He doesn’t want to be separated from his beloved Father, likewise in that same prayer is that Jesus wants us to always be connected always with Him. But because of sin that he bore for humanity 😢He was separated from the Father and death is the result of the sin that He never committed. What a great love of God the Father that He gave His only begotten Son to redeem us from all our sin. If this is our meditation we can not separate from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ thru sin, the transgression of the Law

It is all fantasyland vocabulary & positioning as if there can be authority on fiction.

      Come, let us worship Jesus.

Let us forget we have a saying: God helps those helping themselves, because gods have a perfect record of doing nothing.
Let us ignore nothing fails like prayer in a children's hospital.
Let us ignore a wicked generation seeks signs.

Thank you pastor Sorke. We need your prayers for our tiny church in Miranda, Calif. It's on its last breath. A monthly visiting pastor, a man who teaches the adult lesson and about four members.
The school is in the building, one room. It was closed and the books gotten rid of. The Dorcas is trashed, has mold and is full of junk that moving people "donated". To ditch before moving
We meet in the potluck room and the church is about to be closed.

It is not essential for us to be able to define just what the Holy Spirit is. Christ tells us that the Spirit is the Comforter, "the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father." It is plainly declared regarding the Holy Spirit that, in His work of guiding men into all truth, "He shall not speak of Himself." John 15:26; 16:13.

1Cor 14: 34Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
35And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
Many are taking this literally. Please explain further. Thanks pastor Ingo

      I have a question.
These people don't read the comments much.
What is good or honorable about suggesting people travel best with one foot in fantasyland?
Nothing fails like prayer in a children's hospital.
The Christians glued their books onto the Jewish books, the Mormons fastened theirs onto them both, thus proving Christians have no standards or quality-controls.

I don't think it can be literal, as in 100%. That would cancel Ellen White, any woman speaking anything at anytime in church. No female greeters, no female singing, no female kids Sabbath School teachers, etc.
But the clue is in the text itself: 1 Cor 14:28 tells men to be silent! Same verb as verse 34! I've never seen anyone quote verse 28 in this context though . . .
The issue appears to be one of order in church, decorum, respect - a specific silence, based on certain circumstances in church, different from 1 Tim 2-3. But I don't want to sound like I'm into cultural relativism . . .
One more clue in the text: v34 indicates that really obedience is the issue. Some assume the reference to the law is pointing back to Gen 3:16, but I would need to study this in more detail.

Greetings Dr. Sorke, I will be watching this tomorrow when I get some free time. I had a question for you about Greek. I heard you talking not long ago and you mentioned your personal study using the TR and made mention of the Greek bibles we use in seminary or our colleges (Nestle-Aland decades ago when I was there). Do you prefer the TR over the CT? What is your reason? Just curious. Lately I feel reluctant to use modern translations and the CT.

I base my preference on the Textus Receptus less on text-critical reasons than on my understanding of Ellen White. I admit I am in the minority here, and most scholars would laugh at my reasoning.
The critical text is an artificial product, a real patchwork - it doesn't actually exist in its current form. Here a fragment, there a fragment, with internal contradictions and inconsistencies. I have found more than once that text-critical explanations sound incontrovertible ("the most ancient and reliant manuscripts have . . . "), but when you take a closer look the wording contains many vague terms, like "most likely", "probably", "it appears that", and "likely".
Ellen White quotes Revelation 22:14 ("Blessed are those who do his commandments") with reliance on the King James-based Textus Receptus. She builds a case on commandment-keeping with this text, which is only possible with the Textus Receptus. The other (critical) manuscripts have "who wash your robes".
Another example, and a rather intriguing one at that: In Luke 23:42 the thief on the cross says "Lord" in the Textus Receptus. This little detail is missing in the modern critical versions. Here again Ellen White follows the Textus Receptus based KJV, and points out that by calling Jesus "Lord" the thief recognized Christ's divinity. And that's how the (in)famous DA 530 should be understood - divinity, not trinity: "The divinity of Christ is the believer’s assurance of eternal life."
"👉🏽The bystanders caught the words as the thief called Jesus Lord. 👈🏽 The tone of the repentant man arrested their attention. Those who at the foot of the cross had been quarreling over Christ’s garments, and casting lots upon His vesture, stopped to listen. Their angry tones were hushed. With bated breath they looked upon Christ, and waited for the response from those dying lips" (DA 751).
The core of the truth can be ascertained by any translation. I was converted on an RSV - my first English Bible, and I didn't know any different.
I plan to produce an actual study on this issue, as this question has come up before. Thanks for asking!

Pastor Ingo, I'm no theologian...just a seeker of truth. I first heard about the Received Text and the higher critics dichotomy from listening to Prof Walter Veith's teachings. And I was immediately impressed, I believe, by the Spirit of God to see that a Bible translation based on the Received Text is almost fool proof: it can be relied on.
I also first heard about you during the women ordination saga. I'm glad to know you're still soldiering on despite what happened to you. You were called by Jesus and not by men. Keep the faith of the One who called you: keep going right up to the end. He who called you to the ministry will sustain you. He has your reward waiting. Blessings.

If a created being would have been enough to offer for man's ransom, The Divinity would have accepted an angel's life and that would have sufficed. But The Father, The Word and The Holy Spirit ruled that a life of an angel was far from enough. That is why that The Elohim had to devise a plan: The Word, a fully Divine Person, was to renounce for a season all His glory, be born into the human family, live for some 33 years and be offered as a sacrifice. Only THAT would have sufficed. Please see how The Word dialoged with The Father back in eternity, long before coming into the world as Baby Jesus. Hebrews 10:5. I could also cite for you Psalm 40:6, but it is totally corrupt in Psalms - Yes, even the Hebrew Scriptures have a few corruptions, (and we can prove that), and subsequently in all Western translations of the Bible. Please check a version of the Old Testament that was done BEFORE A.D.100 and you will see that what the great Apostle Paul cited in The Book of Hebrews is also in the original, uncorrupted Book of Psalms and is absolutely correct. The fusion between The Word and the human Jesus was complete as far as it is given to the humankind to understand. Unfortunately, all that is employed into your exploits is cherry picked, not biblical, unacceptable and not of a heavenly origin. Don't surprise yourself when you will find out that you are not a friend of Jesus and are in fact advancing the enemy's agenda...

@@Stupidityindex When I said "I speak from the heart", it doesn't mean I just open the chewer and let it rattle or bark. What I am saying I can truly prove - quite well. But I am not one of those people with a wooden brain that can study something but can never process what they have studied and then express it in their own words. All they can do is "quote". I think we bring joy to our Lord in Heaven when we are ready to study something from His word, assimilate that and process, then live accordingly, and speak about what we were lead to study...
