The finished tree turned out beautiful. You did a wonderful job!
Unbelievably gorgeous I am definitely doing this to all my trees that I have!
Glad you finally mentioned that you would use a tarp on the concrete because I wondered what in the heck you were thinking as I watched! Good video and great advice. So now as your Occupational Therapist let me give YOU some advice. Don't stand on folding chairs girl! That is how broken hips are made! Safety awareness, safety, safety, safety. Difficult to fill the kids stockings when you are in a Rehab Center with a broken hip.
Wow, that turned out great and so pretty and way cheaper! Such a great idea if you have had a tree for a long time and you want something new!
Wow!! It turned out beautiful!! Love the way it looks in your home with your other decor. Beautiful job!!
its amazing to me that the video listed before yours calls for over $3100 worth of equipment for the same effect, THANK YOU for allowing me to envision a more festive and frugal future holiday!
that really is crazy! You can do it for so much less! thanks for your kind words~!
I think everybody loves a flocked tree because it’s kinda like blank canvas and no matter how little effort you put on the tree it looks awesome 😎
Cady! Exactly!! It really is a blank canvas and one that you can't go wrong with! thanks for your sweet comment!!
Very pretty! I think buying a 'Roundup" style pump sprayer might help spray water evenly without wearing your hand out, especially for those with arthritis.
Amber Church I was thinking of using the fine mist sprayer on the garden hose. I have arthritis in my hands and the spray bottle would kill me too !!
Absolutely love the demonstration though. Great idea 😍
Wow girl !! It looks as good as a store bought flocked tree !! & with the decorations it looks gorgeous !!
Thanks so much Mommy Garcia! I got nearly all my ornaments from hobby lobby!
Absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing your tips! I had no idea they actually sold a huge bag of flock!
Yup! that big bag made all the difference! I am also glad I have left over to touch up later on too!
You did a amazing job!!!! I've decided I'm completely onboard with flocking my tree!!! 😁🤗 Thanks so much for the video love your finished decor look of the tree!!!

Thanks so much Sheila! If you happen to do yours let me know how it goes!!!
You did a great job !! If I had not watched you do the Flocking I would have been convinced that your tree was a high ended priced tree!! Thanks so much for the information cos I want to flock my tree now!! Thank you for your video Connie
This is the ultimate compliment thank you so much! Best of luck as you flock your own tree!!! like I said just keep on flocking an flock a little more and then some more and you'll have awesome results!! ha ha

Great job, your tree turned out gorgeous! I have been wanting to flock my christmas tree and, after watching your video, I most certainly will. I’ll be sure to use a tarp, take my time, and allow a couple days to complete the project. Thank you!
You did a beautiful job! Your tree is gorgeous! I was just about to order a flocked tree! Thank you for this video, I will be flocking my tree this Christmas!
You did an awesome job!!! Your tree looks great!! I am thinking of flocking one of my trees as well, and possibly re-flocking one i already have! Thanks for the tutorial!🎄😊
thank you so much! It was worth the trouble!!! Love my newly flocked tree! I hope you're flocking turns out great!!
Thanks for the video, it has enlightened my creativity!
Oh my goodness I think I’ve been following you on Pinterest and I didn’t even know that this was your UA-cam channel amazing no wonder I loved it!
I have the flocked 🎄 Christmas tree from my child hood. (I’m 45 now) As you can imagine I’m extremely attached to it and all the memories that come along with it! But unfortunately much of the flocking has come off. The past few years I purchased the flocking in a can to bring the tree back to life but this looks like it would be amazing to use! Thank you so much for sharing! I really appreciate it! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
This would be such a great option for something like you described!! I sure love the memories that Christmas brings in!!!!
An excellent video. Very well explained. ❤️
Well heck fire. Now I want to do this to a pink tree.
Your tree is gorgeous!! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much! I love to share these kind of projects with you all its so fun!
Just did this to my tree, and i to found the cup method or by hand worked best. The sifter would be more for a light snow effect. All in all I’m really happy I didn’t end up buying a pre flocked tree
Beautiful 🎄
Gorgeous!! ❤️❤️❤️
I've had my tree for 6 years. I flocked it and some garland too!! I did the same steps you did. I bought my bag of flocking from Amazon. Your tree looks gorgeous!!
Oh I'd love to hear how yours has held up?!!! Thanks so much for your kind words!
I have to store my artificial tree in a building that gets quite hot during the summer. I have been afraid to flock it thinking that the snow might not hold up well in intense heat. You say your tree has held up for 6 years?
@@nanettew7678 I bought my tree unflocked 6 years ago. I did a light coat of flocking to my tree ast year. I keep it stored in its original original box in my basement. I took it out last week and the flocking has held up well. However, I wanted a thicker coat of flocking so I added more. I also flocked some garland I have. I bought my 5lb bag of flocking/snobond from Amazon last year. I still have a lot left over.
@@themountainviewcottagehale2305 It's held up well. I put a light coat of snobond on it last year. I took my tree out of storage last week and the flocking has held up well. I wanted a thicker coat of flocking this year so I added more. I keep my tree stored in its original box in my basement.
So glad to hear you guys have all had great experience with the snow bond sticking through being stored! thanks for taking the time to reply!!!
Beautiful. TFS I'M so doing this to my tree.
N M Agalte I recommend you mist the tree first, really fine mist then and while you mist you get your flour sifter and as the product is falling you mist it, this will cause the glue to activate and it adheres to the branches without so much mess and fall out. This makes it really pretty, let it dry in between coats to build the puffy fluffy snow on the branches. Totally wear a breathing mask this stuff is really bad for you to breath! I used it and that night my lungs were on fire. It’s not good to inhale this stuff! 🌲❄️🌨 happy flocking!
Love this!! so pretty!!
Looks amazing!!!!!
SO pretty! Thank you!
You are so welcome! I love being able to share helpful DIY's glad you enjoyed it!
Your tree is lovely ! 😊
Beautiful Job
My my my... I am so happy this video popped up in my feed, I have been endlessly looking for “the perfect tree” for about a week now, I need a 9.5ft flocked tree & didn’t realize how expensive they are. I’m looking at $600-$1,000 & although I can go out & buy it, I am way to cheap to spend that much for a tree I only use 1 month out the year! I’ve recently got really in to DIY’s and I have to say I am tempted to buy a green tree & do the flocking myslef... although I’ll have to check & see if green trees are that much less, or will it not be worth it since I have to buy a new one anyways... but this is amazing for sure for ppl who already have a tree. I’ll have to share this with my mom! :)
I am so so glad that this popped up at the right time for you!! I hope you find the right tree to flock!! I know that after Christmas sales will lend for some pretty inexpensive trees if you are willing to wait till next year to have the perfectly flocked tree!! and yes large trees are spendy!! Its a struggle!
Thank you so much for this!!
You are so very welcome! thank you for taking the time to leave a comment!

Totally amazing! I love what you've done with the tree. Where can I get the flocking powder?
Awesome.....
Do you live in Arizona? It looks awfully familiar!! Will be utilizing your method this year! Thanks a ton for the great tutorial and extra tips!
What the flock ? I did not know about flocking a Christmas tree !
Great job I just ordered the snow-bond, hope my luck with it is as good as yours!
The Mountain View Cottage Haley Estes It turned out BEAUTIFUL! Wish I could post pictures here to show you
Thanks!
I’m thinking you could use a mist sprayer on the end of a garden hose rather than a hand held spray bottle
thx for this. was wondering if I could diy.
You certainly can! Really doesn't take much skill! just the right products!
Great video! I've been wanting one of those flocked trees for the longest but did not want to spend the money. Thanks for a plan!
I think it turned out beautifully and since I have three large trees, I will be trying this one one of them.
Also, you had it decorated beautiful as well, but after flicking, why didn’t you flick your mantel greenery to match?
Just curious!
Again, beautifully done!!
How does it do when breaking it back down for storage? I want to do this, but my tree has to be put together limb by limb. Does it make them stick together?
so, how does it store afterwards? and what is it made of, there is asthma in this house also, I have hardwood floors i don't think I am wanting to flock a tree on hardwood.
How do you store the tree afterwards, taking it apart, does the flock come off some? Putting trees back in the ordinal box is pretty rough on the tree. You did a great job!!!!!!!
I stored it in the box it came in and left it in my garage it looks pretty good a year later!
Several questions; I use a LOT of lights and wondered if it was difficult to add lighting with a heavily flocked tree, did branches stick together? Also, what about storage and will the flocking yellow over time? Thanks in advance!
Hi all. I'm here looking for updated answers to all the longer term questions. The crumbling after storage or after redecorating, yellowing or odors after the 2nd, 3rd year?
I ordered some snow flock from Amazon. So when I get ready to take my tree down after Christmas I can flock it before I put it away for the year. I can let it dry for weeks before I put it back in the box.
Wear a dust mask. The flock powder contains a water activated adhesive so you don't want that powder in your lungs. Keep your children and pets away from the work area. Wet down the tree with a garden hose before you begin applying flock. For best results, spray mist at the dust as it falls to the branches. That technique simulates a freshly fallen snow look. Several light applications will build up to a nice heavy layer more effectively than attempting a heavy snowfall in just one pass. The wet powder is very slippery underfoot so watch your step, particularly if you use a ladder. Damp flock feels slimy to the touch. But don't worry, after the flock dries it is pleasant to the touch, like crisp paper or fresh popcorn.
The flock did not disturb the indoor/outdoor lights on my tree, but it did help hide the wires and sockets. Keep the lights unplugged until the tree is completely dry. You can apply painters tape to all the bulbs if you want to get fussy. However, the dried flock rubs off the bulbs quite easily if you don't like the look. A freshly flocked tree will shed at first. Shake the branches to dislodge loose powder before you move the tree indoors. Most of the flock will adhere. Avoid rough handling the flocked branches during decorating. I recommend stringing lights on the tree before applying flock.
I used a battery operated flour sifter because my hands are weak and prone to cramping and arthritis. Flip the switch and the dust falls automatically. I bought a fine mist sprayer at a beauty supply shop. Depress the trigger once and the mist continues for several seconds. I preferred a small bottle because water is heavy. It was easier for me to refill a small bottle of water than to keep pumping a large bottle of water for any length of time.
Thanks! I was wondering about using the hose to save time and get the tree really wet. Will definitely wear a mask!
