    Been using the faderport just over a year now,I have the faderport 16 and it is truly a game changer.The work flow is fantastic,the feel of the faders are old school great along with the automation .I also use studio one 6 combined with a touch screen monitor on a swivel stand and I,m in mixing heaven.I have been recording in big and home studios for over 40 years now and this faderport will diffidently minimize your use of the mouse in your recording and mixing.

    Just purchased the iostation 24c. I have limited space. First impressions. Really nice. I think the headphone amp could have been hotter. A separate control for phantom power on each input would have been a nice touch. Enjoyed your review!

    Don't have one but thinking about getting one but with the upgrades....well I think FaderPort 16 really needs an overhaul now. It is missing a ”Touch Screen” like StudioLive consoles. At least 'one' 5-6 inch touch screen that can show the physical silicon buttons on the onscreen touchscreen would be an amazing addition. You can take my mouse away but give me touch controls then. Anything with TOUCH-control interface would be a win win situation to this product.

      It’s strange. When editing it doesn’t bother the same way, probably just because we don’t see the flow of things like the viewer does… but when I watched it back I wanted to scream lol. Ah well, with a video every week we just learn from it and adjust. :)

      Man, they’re both so good. You can’t go wrong with either. The X touch has more features, but the Faderport is more affordable, if I remember correctly. I will say that I don’t know anyone who regrets getting the X Touch.

    • @platinummonster9755
      @platinummonster9755 6 місяців тому +2

      I own the Faderport 8, and wish I would have opted for the x-Touch instead. FP has only one rotary encoder for pan, which is limiting and that single encoder is doing 8 times the work, meaning it will die quicker. My decision to grab the Faderport over the x-Touch was largely based on the eight LCD scribble strips, but they have really limited viewing angles and show little information unless you are using Studio One. Having said that, the build quality is really nice and it has enough going for it that I haven't enough reason to replace it.

    Making music for a month now with studio one, I am looking for something allowing me to get controls on dynamics, expression, vibrato, with faders to improve my music. Using studio one, I really think that this 8 ports is what I need to improve my workflow and get better control.
    Tell me : if I have 20 tracks , and deal with sound balance for the 20 tracks, I am not stuck with 8 tracks max right ? I can duplicate the 8 ports like nearly infinitely ? Thx
    Ps : what about the free plugins ? Are they good ... ?

    • @BeauTylerMakesMusic
      @BeauTylerMakesMusic Рік тому +2

      Yo. It definitely works for as many tracks as you have in the session. It just keeps cycling through. Because the faders are motorized they just shift into their new positions as you scroll through your channels. :)
      As for the free plugins. They’re really awesome for anyone new to music production. I haven’t personally found much use for them, but I also have hundreds of plugins they have to compete with lol.

      @BeauTylerMakesMusic 14 днів тому

      I know exactly what you mean. When you spend so much time mastering a DAW it’s really Hard to think about somewhat starting over with a new one. I will say, though, that while PreSonus hasn’t become my main DAW, mainly because the new Logic update for Logic 11 was free and amazing, StudioOne was super easy to get the hang of (and it has settings to keep keyboard shortcuts from other DAWs you’re used to).

      No probs dude. Think i will stay with Live for now as all works great anyway. I'm also using a Launch Control XL to add an extra 8 channels. I use these 8 for my drums routing BFD3 to them. So working with with 24 channels is not bad for under £800. Only problem is that the Launch Control XL does not have motorised faders. However i can assign any of it's buttons to useful midi functions to improve workflow. So i am pleased with the setup and the Faderport 16 has changed my life. :)
