Well Rob, what can i say?? Absolute ingenius master,in a class of your own, never seen anything or any one else produce what you can do! Such a pleasure to see your working out, setting out to the execution, great job all of you lads, beautiful brick work as always ,thanks for sharing
Damn, that’s a serious bit of setting out. Most brickies would lose their minds and run off the job if you asked them to set that out those templates the way you have. I’m sure it’s easy when you know how, hey Rob.😉 That is a seriously phenomenal piece of work Rob. Well done! You deserve to be well proud of that masterpiece.
The tudors were masters at architectural brick work, and i think you would have well i know you would have fitted in with anyone in the tudor era just a joy to watch absolutely brilliant
Hi Rob. Im lost for words! Incredible absolutely Incredible. Ive been a bricky since leaving school, 51 now. Never learnt anything like this during my apprenticeship, or in the years that have followed, and i have to be completely truthful, i wouldn't no where to start. Out of interest, did you learn all these techniques during your apprenticeship, or did you choose to learn them yourself, i suppose for the love of the art, because make no mistake it truly is a masterpiece. Best regards. Rich
Thanks Rich, I would say I learnt a lot from my Advanced Craft when I was an apprentice and then moreso when I began teaching as I had to force myself to know other stuff so that I could teach it to my students, they were great, enlightening years
Correction, it's a twisted dodecagon, not dodecahedron. A dodecagon is a 2 dimensional polygon with 12 sides. For reference some other 2 dimensional polygons are triangles, squares, pentagons, hexagons and octagons. The dodecahedron is one of the 5 regular platonic solids. It is a 3 dimensional solid with 12 pentagonal faces. The other platonic solids are tetrahedron, cube, octahedron and icosahedron. Very interesting design, regardless of what you call it. Obviously you are a talented bricklayer, but to properly twist a dodecahedron would require 4 dimensional space. When you have mastered that I'm sure the video will break the internet. Oh wait! Maybe you actually are twisting a dodecahedron and I don't have the appropriate 4 dimensional display to see what is really going on. My bad.
Amazing Rob ! Thanks for filming this one for us . Love how you are enjoying yourself when most of us would be completely stressed . What’s the cottage going to be called ? 😍😍🧱👍🏽
I'm guessing with the maths and geometry setting out, the cutting of almost every single brick...then the setting up, (no labourers to begin with) for one man...I reckon about 5 and a half months, but that is just a sleepy, tired guesstimate

Impressive!!
Utterly remarkable. Thank you. (The video could do with a bit of editing - there's a repeated out of sequence section in the middle).
Absolute masterpiece!
I did a 12 sided shutter once. Id never heard the word dodecahedron before. Never heard it since until now!
Cheers

Ghast has been totally flabbered........still think it needs rendering though. OK I'll get my coat.

One of a kind
Hi rob, a magnificent job by you and your colleagues. What did you use to complete the haunching at the top of the chimney? 😊
The flaunting was a 1:2½ grey mix
What kind of wood is being used for the templates and constructing the forms for the arches?
Очень круто выглядит ! 👍🏼 🔥🔥
It's OK but don't quit your day job, keep practicing you'll get there if you don't give up.
Just curious, what was the issue with the brick wall you were pointing out? was it the excess mortar between the wall?
Amazing Rob ! Thanks for filming this one for us . Love how you are enjoying yourself when most of us would be completely stressed .
What’s the cottage going to be called ? 😍😍🧱👍🏽
They are still taking suggestions for names as far as I am aware

Hi Jeff, it will soon have a building around it...
@@robsonger1 👍
😍
thank you sir. What is the total amount of hours invested in this, including that of your colleagues?
