- Kassandra Okvath is an eight-year-old cancer survivor who asks the Extreme Makeover team to help renovate the children’s cancer wing of the local hospital to make it a happier place for those receiving treatment. While the Okvath family was sent to work on the hospital, the Extreme Makeover team surprised the family with a home makeover of their own.

Such a lovely little girl that has been through such a lot she and her family disevs this how wonderful
Knowing that some people couldn’t keep their homes after because it got too expensive, I hope it was different for this family.
it wasn't . they couldnt' afford the added expense. Their finances were in shambles. They have tried to put it on the market twice. As of 2012, they sold it for a fraction of the original asking price. It was a big problem for them. The bright side is that as of 2012 Kassandra was still doing well.
This case particularly saddens me. They could have just gotten rid of the mould, kept the house the same basic size but spruced it up for them and it would have been perfect.
So sad that people couldnt affor it.
@@christinekillen3852 Okay, let's compare a "fraction of the asking price" to the value of the previous mold-infested old house. My guess is they still came out ahead plus they got to enjoy a ridiculous house for years. That's more than most people get to experience.
@@SDesWriter And Parents Divorced. It's good they got a home. But they couldn't afford the costs. Their taxes and utility bills are 3 times what they had to pay. Yes, no faults on EMHE team as they wanted to help.

Black mold the worst kind of mold don’t touch it until you call a mold Remediation crew to come out and take out the old mouldy mildew wood it going to cost abc alot of money you can’t demo the house until the Mouldy mildew wood .

This home has become a burden to the Okvath Family....Utility expenses have more than doubled and they figure they can only afford it for another 3 to 4 years. So sad!
They sold it and tge parents divorced
Make bloody sure these families don't have a mortgage to pay.
Is there any need to swear! A simple...hope these families don't have a huge mortgage to pay would of been suffice! & ALL the families know once they apply what they can expect! Hence it's called " extreme makeover" UNLESS the builders decide as they sometimes do,to rip there mortgage up and pay for it! What about the ones that SELL THERE HOMES! MAKE A HUGE PROFIT,LIE AND THEN MOVE TO A SMALLER HOME, CLAIMING THEY HAVE I.E 13 CHILDREN,THEN PUT 4 OF THEM BACK INTO CARE! YES! THAT WAS ALL OVER THE MEDIA! & ONCE 2 OF THEM CAME IF AGE TO TAKE THERE SO CALLED FOSTER PARENTS TO COURT! IT ALL CAME OUT! THE MOTHER HAD BOUGHT AN BMW CAR & SPENT THE $800 GIVEN FOR THE CHILDREN ON HERSELF!! TRUE FACT!!!
