I totally agree, I never knew a browser could actually change the way I expect all apps to be. It's weird to explain, but I'm sure you get what I mean there. It's like its changed how the web itself is supposed to be, and apps in general. There's some magic going on here
Definitely invest some time in the Windows and Mobile version, when these versions are released the number of users will skyrocket, I imagine a graph with a completely 90º line.
Yeah absolutely. This is such a great company and product and the lack of windows and mobile support completely kills it for so many people. All this amazing publicity is going to waste because a ton of the readers just can't do anything with it.
Please invest in Windows. I didn't know Arc was Mac only until I told my wife she had to try it. She's a Windows user. We were both bummed. Love Arc. Keep up the good work!
So glad to be apart of this journey, Arc really has changed how I work and I use it every single day. It’s the perfect engine for my work, so thank you for all the hard work, can’t wait for the mobile app 🙏🏼
You did not just start a browser company, you started a movement to distrup this sector and I'm so glad you did that. I will be using Arc as long as you keep it focused on privacy and UX/UI. Take that in the face Google.
OK. But I absolutely adore this type of content. Its not only is insanely inspiring showing the behind the scenes story of how this company is made but also it helps us, the users and the audience, feel connected with your story and the inner goings ons of the company. MORE VLOGS PLS
I'm learning so much on what it means to have radical candor in a business from your videos and your other communication. I love it. Keep the good times coming!
These videos and inside scoops are so valuable to learn about the behind the scenes of how the product is made, and even how board meetings go and the sorts of analysis that goes through your heads!
Arc is absolutely incredible. As someone with ADHD, Arc has completely changed the way I work and can actually get stuff done. I've completely changed my browser from chrome to baby Arc because of this. It is amazing. Never take it away
100% agree over here, also with ADHD, all the little things like baby Arc just shockingly make sense, Arc is crazy good that I didn't even know a browser could be like this
Arc has changed my entire process of working. It separates my professional life from my personal life in a way I didn't know I needed, whilst not locking it out into accounts. It deserves all the praise and growth it has had and for the several months I've been using it now I've shouted from the rooftops about how good it actually is to anyone who will listen.
Thursday has become one of my favorite days of the week, because I get to play with new Arc features. Keep having fun over there folks 🎉 It is making for a great experience.
When I found out about Arc, I instantly knew I needed to get it and check it out and I'm so glad I did. It feels like a natural evolution of desktop browsers and more and more of what I've been waiting for. I can't wait to see where you guys take it! thank you! thank you!
Haha I actually felt the nerves myself leading up to the board meeting 😆 Oh and the moment that Josh started talking about fear of getting bored easily... Yeahhh... 10000000% relate to that-keep it dynamic my friend. When I'm bored with my business, I HAVE to focus elsewhere (the ebbs and flows over the past decade in business-sometimes an entire 1-2 years are boring, but I've found excitement elsewhere). BUT when there are those moments of potential/seeing the future of what it could be, growth, trajectory... My gosh, I'm all in, putting in 15 hour days, having dreams about it. This is an area that would be fascinating to talk through more and understand where you're coming from-so relatable 🔥 As you mentioned in a few pieces of content now, initially the idea of a browser was boring. 💯 agree, and my skepticism was so high... Until I tried it and heard the vision. The thing that was the non-starter/boring to me, turned out to be the sole thing that I've been obsessing over the past decade, and finally seeing a glimpse of that vision in Arc. Thank you for creating this content. Hire more, keep the content flowing, keep things exciting, keep the momentum going, because if you do, you'll build what you're dreaming. I have no doubt.
Hey Josh, I’m like that too man, I get bored way too easily when I’m working on projects and I haven’t really found a solution yet. I think focusing on having a balance is really important and getting time for yourself. Looking forward to Arc’s future, Best of luck!!!
Found ARC at just the perfect time! Couldn't imagine doing my work without the 3 way split screens and folders to recall all of those split screen combinations at a snap.
In the past two weeks I made two people switch to Arc, so I contributed to the growth hike, woohoo. The reason why I can wholeheartedly suggest Arc, is that it made using the internet much more enjoyable. I used to have 4-8 Chrome windows with dozens of tabs open, each window for a different area of interest. It was a mess, but at least it was better than not having this separation. Now everything is properly organised in spaces and I have 1 or maybe 2 windows open and I find the tabs I am looking for much faster. Looking forward to see you develop and excited for new features...it'd be interesting to see, if you can integrate AI somehow smartly into the Arc experience.
Btw: having the possibility of different accounts being used in different spaces would be really dope. E.g. UA-cam Account of email1 in the work space, UA-cam Account of email2 in the private space. Not sure if it's technically possible though.
I have to admit that I keep looking at other browsers for speed, and I know that you probably have some debug code still in so it's not a fair comparison, but even so I still keep coming back to Arc. There is something about the UI/UX that draws me in. I can get vertical tabs on many browsers now. Most suck, some are ok. Arc actually blows it out of the water when it comes to vertical tabs. Also, having ADHD, I tend to hoard and forget about my tabs, so that auto nuke option is great! It forces me to be aware, pin them if needed, or let them get tossed if I don't care. Now, the iOS version would be killer! I am so looking forward to that! Also, I'd love to get on your beta testing list for the iOS app!
I'm telling people about Arc and trying to spread the word. Scaling sounds smart as the web version seems like a super solid product right now, and for me it's been making browsing the internet fun! Keep it up! 👍
I found Arc took A LOT of getting used to - to the point that the first day I used it I immediately went back to Brave when I couldn't find my extensions - but a week or two later, I came back to it and gave it another shot. Gradually the pieces fell into place and it wasn't long before something *clicked* and I realised I was not going to be able to go back to the old way of doing things. I immediately made it my default, and the more I use it the more I love it. It has completely changed the way I work. It is full of these brilliant touches that make you ask "Why did no one do this before?". Keep up the good work.
This is freaking awesome. I have been Arc user for the last week and am excited to see where this product goes. More than willing to pay for such a well design, productive, and well-thought product. Congrats
I love these videos. I've done angel investing professionally for thirty years. It is so much fun and incredibly interesting to see you all working through the reality hockey stick growth. It is such a special time and every entrepreneur's dream. It is also, most likely, a once in a lifetime event for everyone involved. These video are invaluable for your customer base as we get an inside look into the ARC browser we are using each day, all day. It personalize the experience. It makes me want to help to make it work for all of you. I also believe these videos are valuable for encouraging entrepreneurs world-wide. There is so much you are learning and sharing. Invaluable! Keep up the transparency and sharing. Thank you.
This video is dope. ARC is my new favorite thing and this team is A+ on all fronts including vulnerability. SUPER meta moment @ timecode 6:15 ... didn't expect that , excellent stakes
Been using Arc as my main browser for the last few days on my MBP, and I am completely in love with it! Looks incredible and feels very intuitive to use. Makes me excited for the Linux version of the browser to come out
Very inspired by what you are doing and can't see myself going back to Chrome -- love the approach of how you are telling the story in real time like this.
Brutal honesty. (1) What will kill your product & sink your company is having a "startup mentality". It's not a fashion. It's a company that needs to bolt something onto the back end of a free web browser that makes money. Be it an app store, a subscription or 3rd party suite of services. (2) If you're operating at a cash-flow loss, don't acquire anything or hire anyone until income stream is locked down and you've slowed the bleeding. Acquisitions happen when you're Google. (3) "Growth" is a sacred word and should be used sparingly. Growth is measured by YOY profit margins & tangible assets in your bank account, not an email list. Intangibles are not growth. End of board meeting.
Hey guys, just want to say good luck! Gen z is really going to love using a browser that rethinks things and isn't one of the "big establishment", but a majority of them don't have to income yet to be choosy about wether they use apple products or not - as soon as the windows release is out, I'll be there 😁
You go fly Josh, been-watching your every decisions and community you're creating, also good luck for Swift SDK, if its portable to windows and linux. xoxo
The first non-AOL browser I had I bought it in the mid 1990s. It was Netscape Gold, I think. I paid $79.00 and it was shipped on a CD-ROM. Buying a browser was common among the early adopters "back in the day". Having a paid tier would be one way to make money; just like ChatGPT, Mem, Zapier, SGPT, etc. I've only had ARC a couple of weeks. I think it is an exceptional product! I'm excited for the future of ARC and I'm excited for you guys! You're an impressive group. 👍
i think you guys did a really phenomenal and great product. I'm just experienced a force close / restart (for the browser) in my mac couple of hours ago after i hit a shrtcut to create my first easel. After that it working just fine. Good job guys and keep going!
I'm in love. I'm a React dev and love my current job. This is literally the only company I would consider leaving my job for rn. The product is so good, you guys have literally ruined all other browsers for me.
true, sometimes I have to stop the internet because I'm shocked that this is just a browser, too many things make sense that I didn't know were supposed to
what is amazing to me is that i care so much about this company/product that i watch all the vlogs!!! i mean, its all about a browser, can you believe it?
I've absolutely been living in Arc and loving every minute of it. Thank you for re-invigorating web browsing! P.S. Where can I get on of those Arc stickers @11:30 ?
Tbh I see more and more people talking about the browser so I believe yes you can grow faster and maybe even become one of the most download browsers out there. Been waiting for a while now to get it myself, but already feeling exited for when I do!
I don't know if you will read this or not but, I am a front-end developer and something about Arc that concerns me is that boosts(which to my understanding are browser wide css altering themes) could not only cause some visually jarring contrasts on some more intricately styled websites while working on others, but also ruin months of hard work by UX and UI teams and developers building highly integrated theme systems into their websites. On more basic social media or article sites I imagine it could be cool but I think its important your browser looks for some head meta tag that could allow that site or page on the site to opt out of being affected by boosts. Like imagine a complex animation on a gradient background that indicates progress for a download or upload just gets overwritten with some repeating star pattern background. Other than that this seems like an awesome project and the exact kind of paradigm breaking project I like to see. Thank you if you took the time to read this!
I moved away from Arc. Had trouble managing 20+ tabs at once that I constantly jump back and forth from during my development process. They wouild include tabs containing random things like docs, youtube videos, random reference pages, etc. Not all of them were in use 100% of the time but for me and my process, they were necessary. Might be that I didn't give myself enough time to get used to Arc? Going to try again. These videos actually inspire me to use Arc!
it does take a little time, your experience sounds very similar to a dev friend of mine who hasn't yet used it enough to get it. there's a certain point when you'll suddenly realise why dafuq this is (it's hard to explain, except that it is very different yet makes a lot of sense)
Feedback from my side: I really did enjoy this video. I'm thinking if you'd start a vlog series, like once per week or so, I'd definitely watch. This is great content, that's not available by every company, especially when it grows big (looking at you, Arc C.). And you'd have this sort of unique aspect of an Open company, that also documents and shares value on the media. Just as @GaryVee does it for his company, and it'd help with more exposure to The Browser. (Yeah, right, needs a whole Content Creation team) A thank you to everyone working there. I work in software, and Arc became my primary browser for everything. (inc. testing, etc.)
Please don’t ever stop the user engagement and use of social media. I would also encourage having a presence on decentralised social media and paying some attention to that as they grow and gain popularity especially Bluesky and Mastodon.
So long as your way to make money means you remain privacy-first and do not sell any user data (and also that you don't choose to attempt to monetize CSS/JS snippets - something dystopian for the future of the web). Nice to see a human-centric view-in but alongside the feel-goodery, would love some confidence instilled that you're still going to be around in 12-18 months.
You are creating something really disruptive, beautiful, functional and that allows users to make a new online browsing and productivity experience. I think that currently one of the great needs of users is to be able to enjoy the potential of technology in a pleasant tool that inspires confidence, security. I think people are willing to pay for it. Your business model needs to be different from the Google Chrome business model, for example. Data today is something very sensitive and needs to be preserved, not sold. Protecting them is one of the great challenges of tools like browsers.
I want to say take your time and make the best browser you can. But I wont, I rather say just release on windows and linux right now, get us all on board and it'll fkin blow out of the water.
There's a magic to Arc, completely has changed my workflow and reset my expectations for all other products. These videos are part of that magic.
100%, I for one am eagerly waiting for the Windows version! I don't have a Mac but I will definitely be jumping on the band wagon once it's released.
Agree, but they haven’t monetized yet. That could easily ruin it. My biggest worry is when the money dries up
I totally agree, I never knew a browser could actually change the way I expect all apps to be. It's weird to explain, but I'm sure you get what I mean there. It's like its changed how the web itself is supposed to be, and apps in general. There's some magic going on here
Please don’t get bored Josh. What you are creating is special.
He gives "quit after the Series B" vibes
lol

Yeah I so want to use ARC but I have a windows PC and pixel phone
Yeah absolutely. This is such a great company and product and the lack of windows and mobile support completely kills it for so many people. All this amazing publicity is going to waste because a ton of the readers just can't do anything with it.

I am watching this in the arc browser and am a full convert. Keep going! Great product!
Might just be me but Josh kind of looks like Andy Bernard from the office? Anyone else or is that just me?
It's the eyes. With sun glasses on he looks completely like Charles Boyle from Brooklyn 9-9.
This product needs to exist. It brings the calm back into our work. It's a joy to use. The work you're doing is amazing. Your team gets it.

Me at the office: "Ooooh, you should try Arc, get some of those tabs under control."
I can't wait for a mobile version. I don't mind Vivaldi for work and mobile, but would love to see Arc outside of my personal Mac laptop!
Amazing vide guys, exquisite office 🤩
Keep rocking, we love ARC ❤
all the best for the future!
Feedback from my side:
I really did enjoy this video.
(Yeah, right, needs a whole Content Creation team)
A thank you to everyone working there. I work in software, and Arc became my primary browser for everything. (inc. testing, etc.)
Arc ist definitely great and working for me :)
I’m sure that once windows version releases (and with wine today, linux as well) growth will accelerate!
Is there any update about iOS and windows?
