LOVED filming this, sorry for calling Clisare a b***h but it's what the people want! CONFLICT!
Also keep mustard on your hotdogs and OUT of my drinks thank you very much.
We come for the mustard liqueurs, we stay for the conflicts.
So glad you're back!
My late father was a real mustard maven. One Christmas, we all pooled together and got him two dozen bottles of every really fancy mustard we could find. Mustards that make Grey Poupon look like the stuff you get out of a packet at McDonalds. it was the best Christmas ever.
But I doubt even he would have wanted a shot of /that/ stuff.
@@Doodlesthegreat aw! Pity you never got him to Mt Horeb, WI, and the mustard museum....
"a bunch of world-class, middle-aged ballerinas dancing in my mouth." That's very specific lol
It was BRILLIANT! Perfectly weird!🤣
Richard’s “oh wow!” Made it even better
And all the ballerinas are wearing cosmic blue leotards!
And they're planning on going out to get cocktails after the performance because it's the last show of the tour, all except that one who's going to get a martini because they _always_ have to be different and are just *super* obsessed with olives and they tell them constantly to just get some olives to eat alongside a drink but they say they prefer it in a martini to which they all stop, reconsider, and apologize and say, "You know what? You do you," and they all feel a bit closer as a ballet company afterwards.
In actual practice, "middle-aged" ballerinas would probably be, say, 22-25 years old. Once a ballerina reaches what we generally call middle age of a human lifespan, they've been retired from classical dance for a decade or so. Ballet is really a young person's game; it's just too demanding on your body to continue once you get the far side of thirty and the injuries become chronic. It's not unlike American football in that regard.
Justine's absence means that Colin was unsuccessful in his search for a durian liqueur. Needed Lolsy for her patented Lolsy faces, though.
I found they do have durian liquor... can't wait to see it here lol
@@ericjohnson7276 It might not be readily available, though.
Durian liqueur has been banned by the Geneva convention as a chemical weapon.
@@zorro456 😂
Alongside a peanut butter liqueur for Dermot and George, of course.
I'm Dutch and Advocaat is often associated with elderly ladies. They have it in a bowl glass with whipped cream and eat it with a little spoon. I am 27 and male, but I love Advocaat!
Jamie had his two minutes of bliss and then as he predicted, reality kicked in, in the form of mustard liqueur.
Seán, I just have to say a hearty thank you for taking us back twenty years with the Chumbawumba reference 🤘🏻.
Great vid as always Tryers!
Chumbawaumba was 20 years ago??? Fuck, I'm old.
@@Jay-ate-a-bug 🤣 Every time I think I smell old fart... it's me.
Clisare: "Who loves mustard?"
Me: "Me."
George: "English people."
(is American of mostly English extraction)
Me: "Fair."
Mustard also figures prominently in German cuisine. It matches very well with pork - think hot dogs and Cuban sandwiches and ham steaks. But that said, I don't want to drink it...
Pardon me...
Would you have any Grey Poupon?
Filipino American here. I frickin *love* mustard. I'm actually a bit keen to find that liqueur
Yeah, I love mustard but have no interest in any sort of mustard drink. As a condiment or an addition to many dishes it is excellent. As a drink it's never going to work. ;)
I'd like to try the honeycomb liqueur mixed with the mustard liqueur, and sip it while munching on decent chicken nuggets/strips.
The face made by Claire when she tried the mustard liquer, she was channeling the spirit of Lolsy in that one 🤣
I was expecting durian alcohol to be on the list, but when I didn't see Justine, I was like, "No durian today."
Durian & Alcohol is actually a potentially lethal combo due to the chemical makeup of the fruit. Honestly its a good thing the Durian wine failed.... That could literally kill the TRY'ers.
I want to congratulate Sean on the best, hands down no question, the most outstanding egg related, singing improv ever to be gifted to the Try channel. No more then that, given to the world, the UNIVERSE! Bravo Mr. Connolly, bravo.
We eat advocaat (not drinking) with a spoon and with whipped creame on top. And we put it in ice cream, eastern eggs, and other baked thinks ( advocaat gebakje). Taste great.
What is it and is it good
@@tommyfoursouls6960 advocaat pastry says google translate. Any good pastry maker sells it here. Taste great. We have a lot of recipe with advocaat overhere for great dessert or pastry. Taste also great with chocolat.
Yeah this! I’ve loved it since my grandma sneakily let me drink it age 15 haha. Advocaatje slagroom ftw!
not to mention the snowball cocktail
@@bigfrankfraser1391 Aaah, the snowball, many a child got their first taste of alcohol with a snowball...Advocaat, Lemonade and a touch of lime cordial! Happy days of youth!!
"Thank you, Colin, for bringing me in for this one.....this is very good." Is there a weekly chart in the office that keeps up with the tryers who were victims of "scary food" episodes....so that they get chosen for the good stuff? Thank you Tryers for all of your hard working tastebuds......your trials with all of nasty stuff and excitement for all of the tasty things is greatly appreciated.
Clisare ang George would be my winning pair in this shoot. The wit, and the common ground that is Dermott still showed itself. 😄
Absolutely no argument here.
That mustard liqueur makes me think of the woman who ordered a fernet branca, and the bartender replied "Sorry, we're out - but I've got something else that sucks." (It was Malort, and she said she liked it.)
Oh my....have the Tryers tried Malort yet???😮
@@TheReeldeel15615 Not to my knowledge.
I like Malort...
@@morrigankasa570 I'm sorry.
I’m not surprised that she did, it’s really good stuff.
See now I think there has to be a whole episode about Mustard hahahahhahhaha, everything from a nice Stone-ground to Helga's Chili-infused Mustard.
"It's like shotting snot" I busted out laughing!!
No "Liquer? I hardly know 'er" jokes, but "Take me into custardy" was pretty bad too.
The folks seldom disappoint - A+!
Seán with the egg song is an absolute ROFL riot! 🤣🤣🤣
Glad to see George back. He's proof most funny people should be stand up comedians, but they don't pursue it for whatever reason. Know your lane is the lesson I guess
Nobody says “I do declare” with the same finesse as George does.
After leading with lime and honeycomb I was waiting for the other shoe to drop and there it was, ~mustard~. Stomachs of steel, these guys.
The Advokaat is a dessert in the Netherlands 😂 We eat it with a spoon and whipped cream
Took me a sec, to realize you meant "dessert"! Lol! I thought you were trying to say it's a literal desert, and it was named for it! Seriously, sounds almost like eggnog. I love eggnog!
It’s very popular in Britain (especially around Christmas) so I assumed it would be in Ireland too. We just drink it straight or with lemonade as a ‘snowball’
Here in Australia we use to call it a fluffy duck!
That thumbnail is just hilarious. Clisare is so pretty, I had no idea she could also look scary! Lol
That's all women.
There's a lot of difference in advocaat, some very good ones but some very bad as well. You could drink it pure but you can also pour it over some ice cream for instance, with some whipped cream. You could mix it with coffee or in tiramisu, on cake... So many possibilities!
dont forget the snowball cocktail
They didn’t even have to leave the comfort of their homes really. They sat, relaxed and traveled around the globe a few times.
As Clisare picked up the egg liqueur, the drink disappeared into the pattern of her coat! 🤪 Exact match. 💛
"Put your hands in the spaghetti and oh it'd the witches hair"
...............
I'm sorry WTF WAS THAT?!?!?!? AND WHY WAS IT THE FUNNIEST THING IVE HEARD IN A WHILE!!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
2:50 *Jamie:* It smells like me birthday.
*Sean:* Expert blend of Irish whisky, honeycomb liqueurs and flavors.
So... Jamie was born at an Irish beekeeper's? With, er, additional flavors?
FYI you should add a dollop of whipped cream to the advocaat and "eat" it with a teaspoon.
Oh, that sounds lovely
Advocaat+ lemonade = a Snowball. Its like liquid ice cream. I used to be allowed one ever xmas from about 9 y/o!
Irish People Try a Load of Guinness actually sounds like a hoot of a video. Just give them a new pint every 5 minutes and see how it goes... :-)
I believe that is commonly known as "Saturday"
That . Could. Work !!
It would be interesting, they might finally sober up.
"-- don't FUCKIN' say Dermot!"
I was sippin' my soda and started chokin' man. lmaooo.
5:15 "Who likes mustard?! Like genuinely? Don't fuckin' say Dermot!"
The fact that I was 100% already expecting him to say Dermot shows how much poor Dermot gets bullied on this channel 🙈😂
Dermot, we love ya! ❤️
Should do Jeppson's Malört. The Pride of Chicago!
Torture is illegal, according to the Geneva convention.
What flavor is that?
@@ladykoiwolfe Wormwood.(it tastes like vomit)
@@Pladderkasse interesting. I don't think I need to try a vomit flavor, but I've always been interested in trying absinthe which is also wormwood.
@@ladykoiwolfe Fortunately for Absinthe, aniseed is the main flavor with wormwood taking a backseat. Not too shabby if you ask me. But beware of the insane ABV on some of the original Absinths.
George is on fire this episode. Or someone is just that good at editing.
BNektar is a meadery based in the metropolitan Detroit, Michigan area, and they make a mead (honey wine) aged in bourbon barrels called Episode 13 (the label art work depicts a Star Wars style AT-AT made entirely from booze barrels) that tastes like honey bourbon...which seems somewhat similar to the Dubliner Honeycomb Whiskey might taste like, perhaps?
Jamie's flavor descriptions are *chef's kiss* 😆
If y'all can find Jackson Morgan, they've got some delicious creamy liquers like salted caramel and brown sugar & cinnamon.
The Orange Cream is good, too.
@rapheALtoid peppermint... mocha oooooooo
This was certainly a case of give them hope and take it away 😂 I had the idea that you could use the mustard in cooking something that would benefit from the mustard anyway, but then you could just use mustard and save the temptation to abuse yourself by actually trying it.
Awww....George, Nicole, Richard,Jamie, Clisare and Séan....what a group!?!!😂
"I'm surprised it was better than I thought it'd be on the initial swallow"... phrase of the day! It's a good thing the Advocaat wasn't a pearlescent white colour... I think they'd of had a harder time swallowing it.
Almost swallowed my beer can with that first one! That K-word in South Africa is the equivalent of the N-word in the US. No idea what it means in SE Asia though! Love how word meanings change as you move around the world!
Same thing 😑
A South African acquaintance opines that there are two similar words (kefir being the other) and that they're not related.
@@jimsvideos7201 They're the same. Even the Wikipedia entry for the lime says so. The less offensive term these days is makrut lime.
@@jimsvideos7201 Indeed, kefir is a milk -based drink, rather tasty once you get used to it :P. The etymological roots of the SA version come from "kafir" which means "non-believer" in Arabic and was used by the "good pious christian colonialists" in 17th century South Africa to describe the "heathen savages" they encountered who had their own tribal beliefs. Interestingly, it was not originally a derogatory word, it was simply used to describe indigenous people who had not been converted to christianity. Words are so much fun!
@@jimsvideos7201 an Egyptian colleague jokingly calls her non-Muslim husband "kefir" (infidel)
Thank you, just thank you. I haven't been watching long but all these videos put a smile on my face and make me laugh. You are all a class act. I haven't been feeling well these past few days and these videos been making me laugh and get through it. So thank you, Try Channel.
I had an idea the other day for a Bratwurst drink... i think that mustard liqueur is the perfect match for it!
Mustard liqueur, tomato juice and hotdog water..... 🤮
love George's shirt. you all had a better reaction than I was expecting
Snowballs (Advocaat and lemonade) are amazing! 🙂
We'll said. They were the only alcohol we had as kids at Christmas - being allowed a snowball made you feel so grown up when you were ten!
@@colinmcgregor6384 Haha we were always allowed a port and lemonade on New Years as kids 🙂
George would make a great stand up comic.
These are such fun to watch. I'm buzzing
Claire, **I** like mustard, though NOT as a flavor in a drink. One of my favorite ways to have hot dogs is on a bun with French's or Heinz yellow mustard, diced onion and chili con carne (no beans, obviously). The mustard adds a nice tartness to the chili and onions. I also prefer to have yellow mustard, onion and fresh ground black pepper on cheeseburgers. The trouble is that most places tend to put the mustard on like it is gold, giving you about three drops.🙄 Sometimes, I do get cheeseburgers the normal Wendy's way with ketchup, mayonnaise, dill pickle slices, lettuce and tomato.
I also like Coleman's Mustard with a pot roast.
The spicy brown mustard is good on hot pastrami sandwiches, using rye bread, lettuce, tomato and swiss cheese, and a garlic dill pickle wedge on the side.
Yellow mustard is better than *no* mustard, but it's really only good on a Schlotzky's sandwich.
Speaking of which, the Tryers should taste a Schlotzky's, if they have those in Ireland.
Other than that particular sandwich, though, spicy mustard is superior to yellow mustard, at all times, in every possible way.
Long time fan, first time writer; Clisare and George are the 10/10 pairing. Normally I'm all things Ciara, as she can do no wrong, but when Clisare is sitting there laughing her ass off I cannot find any wrong in the world! Yalls videos bring me nothing but joy and I hope you guys continue this forever! Cheers
Love everyone in this video 😊 made me super happy to watch
As a person who loves to squirt mustard directly into my mouth straight from the bottle, I think I would love the mustard liqueur.
My Mum always let me have a drink of Warninks as a child at Christmas, still love it !!
Next Jeppson's Malört...try a Chicago handshake...an Old Style beer and a shot of Malört
For a tea drinking society, I'm surprised they didn't think the Dubliner would go well with certain types of tea as a sweetener with a kick.
Richard goes nowhere, do you hear me?!? He & Paddy are the 2 best ads for the Irish gene pool this show has!
always have advocaat at chirstmas, with lemonade and cocktail cherries, called a snowball
I wonder what they'd think of Italian liquors, aperitifs, and liqueurs like Capari, Strega, grapa, amaretto, limoncello, Frangelico, Cynar, anisette, Aperol, and Centerbe.
Oh, I love Frangelico.
I would rather drink hot bubbling bloody snot than Campari.
I was a little taken aback when I saw "Kaffir Lime" (1st bottle). "Kaffir" is an epithet that Afrikaaners (South Africans of Dutch heritage) call black people. But according to Google kaffir lime is the actual name of the plant.
A lot of culinary folks have lately been encouraging the use of its lesser known and much less…problematic names, makrut lime, for this reason.
Loved Sean’s reference to the “Tubthumping” song. 😊
This chanel gets me through my day .....keep up the great work guys
I've always wondered if the alcohol videos are recorded in the middle of the workday or if they wait until the end of the day. I could imagine going this at 11am and then having to finish my work day.
Most of the alcohol shoots where they mention the time it's not even past noon over there, not sure if that's their standard shooting time though.
That Lime Leaf sounds tasty, same for Honeycomb, that Mustard one and Egg one I would try separately (just to say I did).
That shirt you have on is sharp Jamie. I can't wait to see mustard cocktails Sean! Mustard liquer, Jameson, Bailey's and tobasco. Call it
"Mustard gas" !!
Great reactions from all!
Liqueur, I hardly know 'er! is definitely something the entire bar says at the alcohol question during every weekly quizzo!
I was really hoping for a peanut butter liqueur
They're saving that one for Dermot, poor guy lol
@@BeboRulz George hates peanut butter too.

Clisare and George was a duo I didn't know I needed
The one that looks like custard reminds me of having eggnog with rum. Stronger than you think but also can get a bit of an odd texture if left too long.
Regarding George's observation on the lack of "smellovision", perhaps people on patreon could be provided with scratch n' sniff cards. They could send you all videos of themselves reacting to the inevitable Durian card....
OMG! cant stop the laughing and the tears keep falling with the Mustard Liq!!!! lol
george and clisare were a wonderful duo for this!
Clare and Fox together again? Are you lot bringing back Team Ginger FTW?
I know it sounds insane but the mustard liqueur with pickle brine is actually good on ice on a hot southern day. Love from U.S.A 💖
I'm going to try this if you are just messing with me I'm going to curse you.
I love Jamie's shirt it's fly AF
Love love Advocaat, especially around Christmas. Poured over ice its great stuff
I've missed George. The Battle Ship episode with Dermot was hilarious.
Mix the Advocaat with Lemonade. That's the way forward.
Snowball
I just had a thought.
Mustard Liqueur might make a fun and unique addition to a bloody mary.

@@bobbiusshadow6985 Peppered bacon Vodka :D
The egg based cover of that chumbawuma dong fills me with joy. Not enough joy to look up how to spell the band's name properly but still. Much joy.
God I love Advocaat. It's like liquid egg-custard tarts with vodka!
Potent eggnog?
I bet that custardy egg one would be amazeballs in egg nog
That's what I was thinking!
Great video, definitely worth trying some frangelico the next time 😊
Pretty good 20's (that's 1920's) accent George. 😂
You didn't have Jeppson's Malort?
Then you haven't had a true liqueur.
After I saw the mustard one I started thinking "Will they serve a Durian shot as the last one?"
Then I remembered that Justine wasn't in this shoot
That flower sweater is so cute!!
The Try Team reactions: Either a kiss with a warm hug or Soul crushing despair. Anything else is just denial of what was done to their mind and body.
Can you find the durian whisky so next Monday you can Get people to do Singaporean alcohol
I love mustard & use it in many recipes (I'm from Arizona USA) but who in hell thought it was a good idea to use mustard seeds in distilling process of a liqueur?🤮
Have you tried Juniper berries? Not particularly nice but makes great gin flavouring.
Mustard liquor, pickle vodka and bacon vodka and tomato juice make a delicious shot called The Hoagie
So great! Love every video
Advocaat is used for making Snowballs which I think I've had pretty much every Christmas since I was a kid, I hadn't tried it neat until a few years ago and was surprised at just how nice it is. I've taken to drinking it just mixed with cloudy lemonade recently but still put in a few cocktail cherries and a little umbrella.
Well, Clisare is my favorite, she's the funniest & Jamie is funny too.
Wish you made more videos with our favorites TRYers & thank you so much for always making us laugh, that's the best medicine.! 🙏🇮🇪🥃🍸🍹😆😍😁🍻
Kaffir lime leaf is used in southeast Asian cooking, mainly in seafood dishes. It's often called "makrut lime leaf," because the word "kaffir" is a racial insult in some parts of the world.
Just for fun, here's the song "Honeycomb" by Jimmie Rodgers (1957):

In Italy we have a drink called Bombardino, made with a liqueur similar to Advocat, called Vov, heated up with whipped cream on top, to sip in the winter after skiing in the Alps or at Christmastime in the cities in norther Italy.
