So much talk of how brilliant and intelligent Luck L was it leaves me stumped as to why he never secured American Citizenship. Especially with the amount of wealth he accumulated. Dewey waisted no time deporting Lucky to Italy when the deal was struck for early prison release. I wonder if Lansky and Costello encouraged Lucky to solve his immigration issues.
He was a naturalised citizen hence why he had to go voluntarily. They made it part of his plea agreement. He handed back his citizenship. Costello and Vito were also naturalised citizens and they faced issues during the fifties also.
I hated his portrayal in Boardwalk Empire. He could’ve been more even tempered and diplomatic like in Mobsters, documentaries and in real life. Instead the show made him a greedy, overly ambitious hot head who loved picking fights, insulting every one he spoke to and an overly reliance of profanity. It didn’t help the final season, where he was the main villain instead of Salvatore Maranzano and Joe Masseria like how they were in real life!!!
Best mafia channel. I even like the AI, when it works properly. This series about CL is the best. Thank you for all your hard work hope your channel continues to grow.
I got used to the occasional glitch. They're not that frequent and only last a few seconds. There's one glitch that's quite funny; coinciding with a passage about not speaking good English. I really enjoyed the series. Excellent uploads.
@@HistoryAndOrganisedCrime1919 Wow! Great work and thank you for your committment! This is very useful, I will not forget you. I will try to follow up and watch all of your great work. 😊
The quotes and life story are from the Luciano testament but I took information from other books also such Meyer Lansky's book and Costello's book as well as press and magazine articles.
Tom Dewey was a do gooder but also ambitious. He made a name for himself with the conviction of Lucky L. Dewey became Governor of New York and eventually after 10 year’s served deported Lucky to Italy. Because Dewey was such a prude and A/H I’m glad he lost his election lol the U.S. President.
I like that Dewey believed in equality and hired a black woman, Eunice Carter, to work as one of his assistants. There was so much racism and discrimination in that era. I would have liked to see someone like Dewey in office. Our progress in that area may have been quicker.
@@PaulaWilley-zq5rd No doubt racism is a problem. I feel sorry for how blacks were treated by our Government and our Nations citizens . After President Lincoln ended slavery it was horrible the way they were treated. A young black person were made to feel their black skin was a birth defect.
I didn’t shed a tear when Vito G croaked in prison. He tried killing Costello in 1957 by having the Chin shoot him in the head. Vito was vindictive and arrogant.
Charlie was a genius. Mayer , Tony Acardo were my favorite. Those monsters were the brain. But then came John gotti the clown, and Nikki Scarfo they were clowns
5 hours of greatness
This is a series with four parts check them all out
5 hours of mental retardation.

It worked out in his favor.
Was a trump card in his pocket
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Carlo Lucania da Licatta Di Fritti Sicilia! He said “We gotta build a business that moves with the times!”

Very cool narration
Many thanks
I would love to hear lucky voice
Same, I don’t think there’s any recordings of his actual voice

What causes the occasional 'pronunciation crashes' in these videos; for example at 1:56?
I'm not to sure but I'm trying my hardest to fix it's not working my apologies

This s Great work. Where does this information stem from?
Uri Dan and Lanskys book, Costello’s book and Luciano's book. As well as a tone of research done by me

Great channel Great Content Thx Alot!!!! New Sub!
Thanks for the sub! Check out my other docs or my magazine articles about organised crime and its history.
Lucky once killed 16 czechoslovakians single handedly, guy was an interior decorator.
is this series based on a book? it looks credible and enjoyable too.

You need to do one with Joe Bonanno and using his book
Too many lies in it....

I didn’t shed a tear when Vito G croaked in prison.
He tried killing Costello in 1957 by having the Chin shoot him in the head.
Vito was vindictive and arrogant.
He was also crucial to the world of organised crime
Charlie was a genius. Mayer , Tony Acardo were my favorite. Those monsters were the brain. But then came John gotti the clown, and Nikki Scarfo they were clowns
Scarfo & John Gotti were a completely different era.. But i agree with your point the new generation never had what the ones had..
Your favorite? They're criminals lmaooo talking like they're actors or something
