And becoming not just a good enough dancer, but a good enough leader in order to lead a dance team to compete at an international level also takes a lot of work. Michelle before the start of the show was already a dance captain in her previous studio and had already competed in the national level long before anyone else on this team had even managed to qualify. Michelle had just more personal experience and results than anyone else on the team had at that time. Just because Michelle wasn't on the team before hand doesn't mean she didn't work hard to get what she got. Now whether Michelle wants what Emily has is another matter entirely. But that's an argument I was never making. And I could really care less about that. I was only saying, as far as Michelle's 'team captain' position goes. It was well earned. She had the experience and personal resume backing her. And that goes for any kind of career or job field. That's just real life.

Rewatching this after many years and I have to say, from an older perspective.. Elite should have won. Yes we have an emotional connection to The Next Step and their routine, but in terms of the actual dance Elite was clean, they were in sync, they had great moves, great set. And half of the next steps group routine was a duet.
The next step won cause of the romance plot and it tugged at heartstrings. Elite had good moves but not much of a storyline so it wasn't emotionally captivating. Dance is more than the steps, but also if it captivates the audience and TNS did that

The E Girls would still be a thing, and Emily would still be the way she was before. I am happy Michelle joined..... Things did change to the better. Almost everything, but nothing is perfect. But if she didn't join, The Next Step wouldn't be where they are right now. If she didn't join, Chloe would have never been on this stage. The E Girls would still be a thing, and Emily would still be the way she was before. I am happy Michelle joined..... Things did change to the better. Almost everything, but nothing is perfect.
