Hey Hornby! Love your products but I have a suggestion. You should really consider producing N gauge or 009 models in the future, as that would sell incredibly well and is something i would definitely buy. With how excellent quality your models are there is no doubt the community would be delighted! 😁
That’s actually a great idea, I’d buy that too
I probably would buy that depending on if the locos are under £100 or not
Well done on the model AND on this video. Very nicely produced.
Incredible! Truly a revolutionary design and a massive well done to the team at hornby hq! Id love to get one one day
Eh, they stole it from TRS Trains
Looking forward to the black 5 with it aswell
Have had a great reaction to this. Loving it and glad so many others are too 👍
I did bad things when i was young & now no money left but you all got that chance that i don,t have & show that Hornby is a quality brand & don,t give up
How the world of model railways has progressed over the years.
@@CrumpledSandwichactually... lets do some research see how good the good old days were.
So found me a price list from 1966, you can score yourself a generic european pacific thing in TT with a smoke unit for what works out to like £170 today, oh you want a tender? Thats sold separate and they'll want about £20 more for that. These numbers are probably a little off so we'll call it £200 to be safe side once you've got your hands on it.
Now of course wages were also less back then because that's how these things work so actually that'll work out to a higher % of your income back then so you'll feel the pinch even more when you buy it. And you get for your money a TT model of a generic continental loco with a smoke unit that relies on heat to operate, can't be turned on or off without dismantling the thing, would warp the plastic body of your loco if you let it get too hot and filled your room with toxic oil smoke(mean not that this was a huge concern as back then you'd be exposed to cigarette smoke everywhere but the principle matters)
300 today, nice tooling, none toxic smoke... don't seem bad at all really.
Truly a master piece By Hornby ! Nice film photography too.
& besides who misses hornby,s best locos on sam, strains top 5 i do
I ran mine down at the club last week. It was very well received. Main comments were about whether the unit could be retrofitted to existing locos (unlikely) and that the steam isn't quite as dense as in real life (physics). Otherwise, a good step forward for the hobby. The vapour being cold is a bonus, no risk of burning yourself. Also ran for about half an hour on one fill which is very good.
Prince of wales was on your best products sam put it there
That's amazing model.
I know you can come on who,s with me votes for hornby,s quality like railroad tornado
Absolutely fantastic I've got the flying Scotsman with steam generator on order 🤞😍
Very impressive
Reminds me of my Triang Britannia with the smoke generator. Still have her but she only occasionally smokes unexpectedly. The things we used to breath in!🤭 I would love A Prince Of Wales!
I’ve got an old triang Britannia and a Winston Churchill with smoke generators that I’ve converted to dcc digital and put pickups in the tenders they work as good as the newer stuff
@@robertedney645 Always wanted Winston Churchill but never did get one. I wanted the recent model but missed out on that one too. It's good that you converted them both to DCC. I love the throaty sound of the old Britannia motor.
If you did it with prince of wales do it to all of the engines

welcome back Hornby live steam
THIS - but for TT too please!
Prince of Wales without his smoke box door
Any plans for a terrer with steam generator
Please do what you did in 2016 & put quality on the locos 🤕
This is great filming I’d love one but the price is a bit to much 😊
Just bought it from Hamlies London...
Did not realise I need the complex controller for it, will it run on a basic controller and can it run without water.
Cool
Well i got to go now goodbye 😢
cheff cheff cheff, the new fra....
What’s your most expensive model? 🤔
noice!
No thank you i will always respect hornby but unless the connector is fixed & the price is good i will not get that black 5 our the railroad plus 14xx
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Cracking looking model but I personally think that the smoke generator is just an expensive gimmick
If only the W1 hush hush and 9F models had a smoke generator, Hornby have had some great steam locomotives over the years, such a shame the diesels aren’t as good in my opinion, could these smoke generator locomotives use a different brand sound decoder?
Their class 50 is over 20 years old yet is still stunning.
This is great. However I think you need to issue a product recall on the black fives now.
