Dude despite this video being around for nearly 2 years, I've been for the longest trying to figure out this engine from the time I used to ride in a shorter thomas buses we had in LAUSD years back when I was in middle school, the last time I saw one of those short thomas with a CAT in it passing my house was in Sep 2020, it was used to drop off the kids at the school across the street. Thank you so much for posting this video as I LOVE these engines right here too their gone though and yours the only video I've seen so far with the clearest sound of that CAT! LAUSD had 2 of these longer ones with CATS in them I've seen so idk truely how many they had at the time.....I'm reliving my younger years hearing that glorious CAT!!!!!
The sound of that engine on the buses that the Hedman Alas company had here in Honduras in the 80s brings back many memories. They started bringing those models in '84 until '97. Sound that relaxes my ears

Brings me back to the old days when I use to ride the school bus to school. LAUSD use to have several Thomas Builts fleets similar to those.
