The Faith of a Mustard Seed
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
The phrase "impossible to please Him" in its original Greek context conveys the absolute necessity of faith to gain God's approval. There is no other way to please God except through faith.
Without faith here means without faith in action.
Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
Ephesians 2:9not of works, lest anyone should boast.
    以弗所书 2:8-9 你们得救是本乎恩,也因着信;这并不是出于自己,乃是 神所赐的;
    以弗所书 2:8-9也不是出于行为,免得有人自夸。
Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on.
(Mark 2:4)
When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
(Mark 2:5)
He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored.
(Mark 3:5)
Matthew 14:28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”
Matthew 14:29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.
    马太福音 14:28 彼得说:「主,如果是你,请叫我从水面上走到你那里去。」 14:29 耶稣说:「你来吧。」彼得就从船上下去,在水面上走,要到耶稣那里去;
James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
God expects us to approach even simple, basic, and daily routines such as eating with faith, as stated in Romans 14:23:
Therefore, if God requires faith in something as fundamental as eating, surely He expects us to exercise faith in praying, worshiping, praising, preaching, and every other good thing we do for Him.
The touch of faith that caught Jesus’ attention.
Mark 5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?”
Someone once asked the Apostle of Faith, Smith Wigglesworth, how to develop great faith. He responded with a biblical analogy from Mark 4:28: "First the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head."
This analogy teaches that faith, like a growing crop, develops gradually. We should exercise our faith at every stage of growth, regardless of where we begin.
Luke 17:5 And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”
Luke 17:6 So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
You don't need mountain-sized faith to move a mountain, just faith the size of a mustard seed. (Matthew 17:20)
Matthew 17:20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
Matthew 14:30: But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
Matthew 14:31: And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, for He is the author and finisher of your faith.
