Not Rolf Harris. That was a vindictive politically motivated set-up, that is falling apart as time goes by. I haven't looked deeply into the Saville case, it seems legit, but there are certainly lots of reasons to be sceptical of the RH prosecution. Paul Gadd was unfortunately a deeply damaged individual, from his own terrible start in life in notoriously abusive 'care' homes. The abused becomes the abuser etc. Very sad.

I have no problem separating art from the artist. Yes, Gary did some very bad things, but that shouldn't decide whether his songs are good or not.
And this song is really very very good, indeed. A true classic of the glam rock genre. I choose to remember Gary for the good things he did.

I was 10 when this was on TV and i loved it, as all my mates did. Don`t blame us, we were just there for the ride. School was good and no social media. But music from the 70`s and 80`s were fantastic, when i was 16 (1979) me and my mate Ben went to a Disco and that was awesome i remember that song "starship strooper" and then i got drunk on vodka, my dad picked us up, Roy was ok, when i got home i ran straight to the toilet and throw up! Great times, but more to come, the late 80`s and 90`s were even better, i found "bi" friends and Weed!! that lasted until 1995 when i moved in to my flat....so its 2019, my mortgage is finished and i have nieces and nephews yet im single, plus im a nice guy...oh well, life goes on.

What are those discs or round pads on some of the drums (snare, floor tom, and small tom)? Since the drummer was actually striking the drums were these used to quiet the drum hits enough so that it wouldn't be heard over the piped in music? I'm assuming the audio of instruments was coming from prerecorded tracks at minimum but I don't know if they mimed to the backing tracks at full volume "live" in front of an audience or if this is an edited production made to look live where quieting the drums would not be necessary.

What he's done or hasn't done is irrelevant to the music as are most of the comments. No one before or since has sounded like this-it's unique.
