I have some pillows from you from your Etsy store. It puts all my other pillows to shame! Lol! I highly recommend everyone go check out her shop. Beautiful and great quality.
Farmhouse on Boone my 19 year old son even made a comment about the pillows I've purchased from you. That says a lot because he is normally oblivious to anything home decor related. Thanks for having a quality etsy store!
Hello Lisa!! What a beautiful family and home. I truly appreciate your approach to your home, family and more.❤️I am a mature woman and mother of 4 children. Back in my motherhood days of raising my family I took the same approach and I also homeschooled all 4 all of their school years. Love your down to earth stills and love for your family and home. I so enjoy your videos and blog. Blessings to you and your most recent baby. You are a joy and encouragement for me to the future of mother's. Inspiration!! I will be making the blankets and the pillows. My daughter in law is having our second granddaughter in April. I want to make her one for the first granddaughter (2 years old ) for her big new bed. Thank you!!
Those are truly lovely and so freshly🍃😊🍃 thank you Lisa for taking the time to share this design. Simply beautiful and cozy♡ praying for your endurance and strength🌹
I just bought ticking material tonight from JoAnn Fabrics. Making 4 placemats and a table runner, oh, also a little pillow. Love this material. Great tutorial, Thank You :) Subscribed...
Can’t wait to try these!! I just watched your Q&A where you mentioned sewing is your favorite hobby but that you weren’t great at it ten years ago. I’m at that point now. I LOVE sewing. It’s something that I’ve played around with for years. I took a 4h sewing class when I was 12, so that’s where it started, but I didn’t get my own machine until I was 24. It was encouraging to hear you say that your skills have developed more as you have practiced over the years because I do really enjoy sewing, especially things for our home :) I just need to keep practicing! Thanks for the encouragement and I would love to see more sewing tutorials.
Yes! It is so true. I still have my first slipcover project on my couch. It has all kinds of wonky-ness I need to hide with a blanket, but its nice to see how much I've improved since I made it 5 years ago! Also, with sewing for my kids, what used to be so difficult is easy for me to just whip out in an hour now.
Thank you for sharing this tutorial! I found it on Pinterest. I was shocked by how expensive grain sack pillow covers were online. I'd much rather make them myself! : )
For an alternate style, could you make the grain sack outer cover a bit smaller and have the ticking pillow visible on both ends? I think I also like using 2 ties instead of one as another commenter suggested.
Do you have a link to your sewing machine? I had my beloved machine since I was 12 years old but, found myself homeless when I was 50 and it went into storage. Unfortunately, after a year in storage it had mold inside and out. 😢. My sweet mother bought me another but, it’s just not the same. I can never seem to get the tension and stitch length to play nice, it’s caused me to quit sewing. I have arthritis in my thumbs and love the touch sensitive buttons on your machine! Thank you for inspiring me to sew again. ❤️
Your sewing machine is so beautiful Lisa! It really looks state of the art! I want some so bad I may have to wait till tax season but I will get two of those pillows if it kills me lol. I just love them. I wish I could sew :(
Hi Lisa. Love your videos. Just wondering where you sourced your grain sack and ticking stripe material? I see you used to have an online fabric shop but that seems to be closed now. Not sure why but grain sack does not appear to be available in Canada outside of Etsy/Ebay, all appear to be originating in the USA.
Can you make with 2 ties not just one? And also make it like a pillow sham,,opened with the 2 ties? To where it's more closed pillow case,, sham)? Ticking fabric of course.. Thanks much!
Lisa, could you show what a serger is? I'm still getting my feet wet with sewing...is a serger an additional foot for your machine? Or a certain Stitch setting?? Could you do a video on serging? That would be fantastic (unless there is already one here on your channel)?
I feel dumb now for asking! I googled it and saw a few UA-cam Videos on it....I was hoping it was just a stitch already ON my sewing machine or a simple change-out of a foot! LOL. I see another viewer would like to see it as well so that would be great if you could do a video! And like she suggests, if you could recommend a good one (and a simple one :)) to use that would be good.
I do feel this stitch brings a very clean finished/polished look to anything you sew. And I know most if not all of our clothing is stitched with a serger.
Oh that's not dumb! I totally didn't know what it was a before I really started getting into sewing. Sounds like a serger video would be helpful for a lot of people!
Hi sweetie love your ch I don't miss a video I like to ask can you please ell me were to you get your fabric from Amazon or eBay please let us all know ....And you have a beautiful family.
Farmhouse on Boone I have been looking at both the Singer and Brother. The Brother gets better reviews. :) It is on Cyber special this week on Amazon too. Thanks for your input as a more experienced person who sews. I really appreciate it. Hope you are well.
For those of us that don’t have a serger why do you have us sew a seam first and then do a zig zag? Why don’t we just do a zig zag and leave it at that?

Well that is super sweet to say! Thank you so much!! 😊

Do you have another source for the grain sack fabric since your shop is closed? Would love to make these☺️
Ok I watched! I think I will buy yours!!lol
Can you make with 2 ties not just one? And also make it like a pillow sham,,opened with the 2 ties? To where it's more closed pillow case,, sham)? Ticking fabric of course.. Thanks much!
You mean ties on both sides? I have done that for a customer before!
What is the paint color in your sewing room? Very pretty. Can't tell if it's grey or alittle blue! ☺
Sorry I don't know. I painted it before I was a blogger and kept track of stuff like that. It is a bluish gray though!
Lisa, could you show what a serger is? I'm still getting my feet wet with sewing...is a serger an additional foot for your machine? Or a certain Stitch setting?? Could you do a video on serging? That would be fantastic (unless there is already one here on your channel)?
Hey Sharon! A serger is whole separate machine. I need to do a video on it! 😊
I feel dumb now for asking! I googled it and saw a few UA-cam Videos on it....I was hoping it was just a stitch already ON my sewing machine or a simple change-out of a foot! LOL. What is your Etsy shop please
Hi sweetie love your ch I don't miss a video I like to ask can you please ell me were to you get your fabric from Amazon or eBay please let us all know ....And you have a beautiful family.
Hi Lisa, do you know where I can get the grain sack fabric?
I bought it from Primitives by Kathy.
What type of serger do you have? Beautiful pillow! :)
I just have a basic brother machine. It was around $250 on Amazon Prime Day.
Farmhouse on Boone I have been looking at both the Singer and Brother. The Brother gets better reviews. :) It is on Cyber special this week on Amazon too. Thanks for your input as a more experienced person who sews. I really appreciate it. Hope you are well.
I am making ticking pillows
For those of us that don’t have a serger why do you have us sew a seam first and then do a zig zag? Why don’t we just do a zig zag and leave it at that?
Seam then zigzag. The zigzag isnt tight enough to use alone.
Farmhouse on Boone Thanks Lisa 😀

I love them!! But I dont think there is anything on ur channel I dont like :)
