I am Assistant Loco Pilot in indian railways. The way he is describing about the signal system, is quite similar to the training I got in training schools. In India, these systems are tought under Safe Working Rules..... 👍👍👍. Here in India, almost all stations are equipped with RRI.

A further evolution perhaps would be ETCS, where trackside signalling would also be eliminated..
Extremely informative and I am taken back to 2000 and before when I used to travel to Bhopal and on the way used to see the A and B cabins where they had these levers to switch tracks, regulate systems, and even entry and exit of trains and even goods marshalling... find memories recreated and thanks mr. sites and sounds for this video!!... learned a lot about signalling in this video... semaphore is still present in parts of Orissa, and Indian Punjab too... what a sight to see semaphores actually... great job describing and am a new subscriber to this channel.. ur content, presentation and professionalism has won me over!!...

excellent informative video about Railway, no one can give such precious information about railway that's why I am in hongkong but always watch your video regularly because I m also a big fan of Pakistan railway.
The staff of Pakistan Railways deserve credit for keeping their antic British built ( perhaps over a century old ) mechanical / electro mechanical Semaphore signals in good working order and operate so many trains every day running at 100 to 120 kmph. In contrast the Indian counterpart of PR had to start replacing their Semaphore signals nearly 60 years ago with interlocked electronic CTC switching and color light signaling. And now because on certain routes they are running trains at 160 kmph, they have had to replace even those electronic signals with home made Cellular ( used in Mobile Phones ) and Satellite ( GPS ) technology based signals that display the status on the train driver’s control desk itself, so he does not have to slow down to read outside signals. But I find that the Rolling Stock of the PR ( it’s Diesel Electric locomotives, some HENSCHEL built GE designs that are nearly 40 years old, the Psgr cars , ... ) are in general better maintained than the much more recent equipment ( PR Diesels do not spew BLACK smoke quite so fr on the IR and moreover a lot cleaner !
Signaling system is a system that does not come in front of most common people, I am also an Indian Railway employee and work in the Signal Department, this system is almost over in Indian Railways, now new systems like Automatic Signal, Route Relay Inter locking system (RRI), SSI, electronic interlocking (EI) is being used, I also wished to see a video containing information about Pakistan railway signal system, thank you very much for that

Nostalgic. I remember requesting the cabin uncle to allow us (the chillar party) to his cabin and to touch these signal livers 40 years back. One fine evening while returning from college I noticed "abandoned" written in big red letters on his cabin. The cabin uncle has vanished with all his belongings. The cabin was our smoking den for many years and then they demolished it to increase the number of tracks. Now I can see all types of LED lights flickering in the control room, but don't know how it works.
