This is great, I confess, I don't know very well ClockDVA music and I began listening music in the early 80's! But, again, love this kind of experimental/electronic/ambiente music! To listen more!
Thanks so much, I'm glad you like it! The history of Clock DVA is an ongoing aural adventure that started already in the late 70s. They started as a proto-industrial project, turned to post-punk with experimental jazz influences and then to pure electronic sounds (I also recommend Adi Newtons project T.A.G.C. aka The Anti Group if you are fond of experimental electronic sounds) . And seriously, I can't think of anything bad or boring in their versatile oeuvre... The last album Noesis was a wonderful surprise for me, this is an absolute masterpiece that presents the project in top form again. In case you're interested, here's a playlist with all my Clock DVA videos: ua-cam.com/play/PLNdLicS5TeWl7UGH_uZcEzgQHofPDLFHK.html&si=vegFRDFaWYo7TEd0 (and there will be more to come....;-)).
@@andreaswendt5343 I started with "Advantage" and this is still one of my all-time favourites (I still love the old Clock DVA sound). But "Buried Dreams" is an electronic masterpiece, nothing sounded like this when the album came out!
HI Alex, thanks a lot for your kind words, so nice to see you share my admiration for Clock DVA! And thanks to Adi Newton for almost 5 decades of stunning , groundbreaking music, this guy is truly a genius... Just in case you're interested, here's a playlist with all my Clock DVA videos (to be continued....;-)): ua-cam.com/play/PLNdLicS5TeWl7UGH_uZcEzgQHofPDLFHK.html . Have a great weekend!
@@AFallingBird ooh, my pleasure and thank you very much for the playlist, will check it out with pleasure. Discovered Clock DVA years ago on an old site with the history of electronic music, so cool to hear about it again on your channel!
Back in the 80s I fell in love with their album "Advantage" and this was the beginning.... Adi Newton (no matter if with Clock DVA, The Anti Group or solo) is for me one of the most fascinating experimental artists, no matter what he does, he never gets boring and stays always true to himself. Starting with the early experimental years, through jazz-infused post-punk to atonal/industrial sounds, to the industrial electronics of the late 80s and 90s and then to the experimental ambient electronics of the last years, it has always been an adventurous, fantastic musical journey! And the latest album "Noesis" is such an absolute masterpiece.... ❤ Thanks again for your kind comment, I'm very glad you like it!
@@AFallingBird Ooh, my pleasure, and now I'll have to check out those albums, then! I only know of their old "Buried Dreams", that first track made such an impression with that relentless, almost Terminator like ostinato. Indeed one can hear the elements that you mentioned infused in the music, it's a very rich tapestry. Thank you very much and congrats again for the vid!
"Buried Dreams" is an absolute classic!! And if you favour electronic music, it's also a good way to start with Clock DVA. The band split after a tour in 1983 and Adi Newton (obviously tired of the more accessible post-punk sound of "Advantage") went on to form his experimental project The Anti Group. He reactivated Clock DVA in 1987, started to use for the first time computer based sampling technology and the result was "Buried Dreams", which was basically the start for the things to come. The Clock DVA discography is an aural adventure, there are so many different styles over the years and I can't mention a single favourite, there's simply too much of brilliant stuff. However, for the beginning I'd like to recommend "Advantage" (a gloomy post-punk/jazz mix with a strong film noir atmosphere), of course "Buried Dreams", "Man-Amplified" (Cyberpunk-influenced cold industrial electronics), "Post-Sign" (the first album after a hiatus of 10 years, beautiful dark ambient sounds) and of course the latest masterpiece "Noesis". Hmmm, a lot of words again, but I can't help it when it comes to my favourite artists...;-))
