    Just bought a 16650 and so far am very happy with it. Required the large format printing.
    One thing I would appreciate in your reviews is the weight of paper they will handle and also what the standard minimum margin settings. It took me some time to find this info and even the rep I talked to at Epson was unable to provide.

    I believe that the ADF 1-side to 2-side means it will scan *1 side* of the document only, but output it to a 2 sided document.
    If you want to scan 2 sided then you need to manually flip the pages.

    Hi, thank you for your videos. I appreciate all the information. I’m looking into the 3850 currently and worried about the maintenance box I saw in other reviews with the eco tank line up in the past. If/when it gets to that end of life point, where might I be able to purchase a maintenance box and is it easy to do the replacement myself (just unscrew, etc.). I’m not very techy and handy but can manage unscrewing stuff and follow instructions. Would you be able to do a vid on the maintenance box (how to change, where to get if easily accessible, what it looks like, etc.)? Again, thank you 🙏🏼 .

    Hello! You really covered a lot in this video, and also in the model 3850 video! You answered a lot of questions that I had and I really appreciate that!. We're debating between the 3850 and 4850, trying to decide whether we need the fax capability. Here are a few questions for you. I want to verify that both models can handle card stock. Weights are not mentioned in the specifications, and you did mention that they can, but please verify for both models. Also, will they both handle acetate (transparencies). I really need that capability. Then finally, the specs on both state that they scan to computer and cloud. Does that require an additional cable, or not? Then, the 4850 can scan to a memory device, so is there a USB port on that model? Your help is greatly appreciated, and I'm sure I'll be back to your channel for more info!

    I still enjoy making personalized music and movie discs and I love the feature which allows me to print my original designs straight on the discs with printable surfaces! But the old Epson printer I’m currently using for this task does not have a maintenance tank. It will reach the end of its service life one day. Does the ET 3850 have the feature to print on optical discs with a printable label surface? Does Epson even still make printers that print on optical discs?

    • @BestPrinters
      @BestPrinters  Рік тому +1

      For the most part the Epson Eco Tank line up does not have a tray to print on discs. Your best bet would be the Epson ET 8500, amzn.to/3iEMHa6

    Not sure if I am misreading any information or not understanding, but from what I am gathering across various sites, the ET 4850 cannot duplex copies and FAXs. I believe in order to copy and FAX both sides, the pages will have to be manually flipped over.

    • @BestPrinters

      @@BestPrinters I have just been confirmed from Epson that the ADF does NOT scan double sided and FAX double sided automatically. Did you try this? If you did, can you please try again? The specifications you presented had to be not related to the EP4850, or any other ECO tank printers in its price range. If you can prove to us it copies and scans both sides automatically, I will then notify Epson that they are incorrect.

    Wondering if you can help me, I've looked on Google & UA-cam & my wife cannot figure out how to do one thing we want to change on our new Epson ET-4850 color printer. When it prints it works fine but we would prefer to make the pages print a little darker when we print stuff on it. We can't find and adjustment that allows us to increase the darkness of the print. Do you know how we can make it print darker? Mostly printing documents, not copying. Thank you!!

    • @BestPrinters
      @BestPrinters  Рік тому

      Yes you would adjust that through the presets on your computer. That’s basically the print quality settings that you can control. You would simply increase the dpi. The dpi will give you darker prints.

    These EcoTank printers have a chip counter and after a certain number of prints they throw up a message "Waste Tank full, printer end of life reached". And even if you empty it, you can't reset the chip, and you can send it in to Epson for service but it costs more than a new printer.

    You should also discuss the fact that the the printheads are the most expensive parts for both Epson and Brother printers. To some extent you may be able to clean the printheads of these 3 brands of printer but once cleaning the printheads no longer works, let the people know how expensive these parts are plus the service fee for installing them. Canon's printheads are builtin onto the cartridges itself, so once you tried cleaning it and still doesn't work, just throw it away and buy a new cartridge. As for me, I only buy empty Canon cartridges and refill them myself.

    I really like the concept but till they make a printer that the user can remove the print head to clean it I won't buy another Epson. I don't print often enough to keep the ink from drying up in the head. It's a real hassle to clean the heads even with a decent cleaning kit. If you print a lot you probably will never have that problem and they'd work great for you. If you can easily remove the head it would be easy to clean the head with the cleaning kit or any other way you want to try.

      I'm running into the same problem with a ET-2760, but you can create what some people call a "ink purge sheet" in a word-processing document and print a couple copies every couple of days and it will prevent that problem -- the purge sheet is stripes of pure color in the Bk, Y, C. M hues, and it runs ink from each nozzle thru the print head to keep them from blocking. Also, there is a trick you can use to clean the Epson print head IN the machine -- you can do a google search to find the guy that shows how to do this.

    PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY ANY EPSON ECO TANK PRINTER. I made the mistake of not doing more research. This printer - along with most of Epson's ecotank printer has an ink waste tank. The more you use the printer the faster this ink waste tank will fill up. Doing print-head cleanings and power cleanings will fill these waste tanks even faster! (also keep in mind ---- the nozzles clog a lot so you'll be doing many printhead cleanings). Once it becomes full a message will pop up onto your printers screen telling you that the ink waste tank is at its "end of life" and needs to be sent to Epson to get it serviced. You will be able to print for a bit longer after that if you ignore the message but it will pop up again and it will refuse to print anymore until you get it serviced by an Epson specialist.
    There are ways to reset the ink tank yourself but you need to do your research online and it's kinda sketchy and will cost you money every time you need to reset it. I do an insane amount of printing everyday for my business so I need to pay to get this reset much more often ( keep that in mind).
    There is also the worry of your waste ink tank really becoming full and if you keep using it you may damage your printer. There are also ways around this but you need to do your research here as well! UA-cam and google is your friend.
    If you've read this and still decide to buy this printer - I will say - Good luck. It's an awesome printer while it lasts.

    I guess you dont know about the non replaceable cleaning sponge which is located in these eco tank epson printers. Once the sponge is full you will get an error code and at the point these printers turn into a paper Weight. Do some investigating and you will see it's the sad truth. And because of the long tubes the printer needs a lot of cleaning. It may ( I say MAY ) work longer if you use the printer frequently . Print a couple of things in color every 3 days maybe if not more to keep it from drying out. Dont just take my word for it... look it up, read real reviews. Some reviews never mentioned that issue because they simply havent had it long enough. Some people have had that problem in less then a year. And once that error code is set Supposedly it's done. I think factory warranty is one year and who knows that they would even cover that hopefully they would, I heard some sent it to Epson or for repairs and that with that particular error code and the sponge being full of ink but they said it would cost more to repair it than it cost for a brand new one. I think with SquareTrade warranty if you buy that it's from the data purchase 3 years

    I have the Epson 3710 printer. That's been my biggest issue for the last 30 years of buying printers. Buying a cheaper printer but the ink cost more, or buying a more expensive printer like the Epson ink tanks. These companies haven't figured out either way. It's the actual lifespan of the printer that is always the problem. Seems like no matter how much you spend on a printer, after about 7000 pages it's worn out.
