When you showed a preview of the app I noticed you set the double press to do "toggle 5 lights with random color" which would explain why the first attempt of you double pressing to change the light color resulted in the lights turning off rather than the colour changing
I really like the twist functionality.
i used mine to control Ikea lights because literally that's the only thing I can use this with since it doesn't work with homekit and there is a ridiculous amount of delay rendering the whole thing useless. This thing is so going back to where it came from.
I have Phillips Hue switches and encounter the same issues with delays and not working every time, particularly when operating Alexa routines. Still looking for that holy grail that won't cost the earth, doesn't require me to rewire my home and just works
In one of their BLOG's, they said their plan is to make the Twist itself a Matter controller just like an Google Home Mini or Echo Dot. That should mean that we can control just about any Matter device with it, including something basic that we all want like using the twist function to dim any Matter Bulb.
When or if that happens, I'll buy it. Until then I'll play the waiting game because right now it's nothing more than a giant flic button for most things.
It also does not support HomeKit. I definitely agree it still seems like it's in beta.
I bought Flic buttons when they first came out, and ended up abandoning them pretty quickly. I had a much better experience with various brands of zigbee buttons on my Home Assistant setup (which are much cheaper, as well). When I saw the Twist, I immediately thought, "Nah." Thanks for confirming my gut instinct!
NOW THAT IS A HONEST REVIEW !!!! TY
Going to be completely honest initially flawed with certain products but recently with hue its abseloutley flawless i have 4 twist and 6 gen2 buttons
This changed when I relocated the hub and updated Internet to a faster connection
Let's hope they sort a firmware update. Poor firmware ruins a good hardware product once again.
So basically my flic twist coming next week will work with a grand total of ZERO smart devices i own. Nice
its so expensive yet the plastic looks so incredibly cheap
Interesting video...I'd never heard of these and saw the price of them and was taken back! Seems ridiculously overpriced for something that could still be considered as a gimmick
It's easier and cheaper to just turn them on individualy
Exactly why i got rid of my original flic buttons, unreliable.
So glad I didn’t buy! Flic seem to be super slow at everything. Slow at manufacturing, slow at software updates and creating new partnerships. The flic 2 buttons work well but you do get the odd instance of nothing happening.
i brought one of them
