  • A ride out leaving Hoi An to find a secret war museum we'd been told about in Duy Son. Some interesting roads up there and some decent climbs through roads that had previously been closed due to landslides. The roads were passable again and as well as a couple of temples we found the unmanned war museum too. Then a leisurely ride back to Hoi An via Tam Ky, the beach at Tam Thanh and the coast road North.

A neatly avoided tank slapper at 9.36 :)

I was nearly caught out by a patch of deep sand! Thankfully not but it certainly got the heart racing!

Really enjoyed that. And it shows how in countries like Vietnam you really don't need a big bike. I reckon a Suzuki VanVan 200 would be ideal for there. Do they sell them?

Thanks! And yes, smaller capacity bikes are absolutely fine here in most cases. Suzuki doesn't do the VanVan here and they only have a limited range. You don't actually see many Suzuki's at all as the biggest manufacturer by a long way is Honda, and then followed by Yamaha.
