  • After a few years of building skis as a hobby, the Thompson's officially offered their first skis to the public in 2008. And the Shaggy's story began. Actually, it began in 1908 when their great-grand-uncle Sulo "Shaggy" Lehto starting hand carving wooden skis for their family and friends in Kearsarge, Michigan. A village located in the heart of Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula. Also known as Copper Country due to the mining history in the area. As a tribute to Uncle "Shaggy", the Thompson family has picked up the ski building heritage where he left off.

Just heard about these skis when I was at Boyne this past week. Also, love the R... Had a MKIV R32, I drove my MK7 GTI up to boyne this past week. I miss the AWD. But until the Golf R comes in a 2 door again I'll keep my 2015 GTI.

I ordered a pair of fat 115mm skis and they're great when we head out west and ski deeper snow. They have a ski for all types of skier and snow. Just depends on what you need. My wife has a Medora 105 and she loves it for just about any situation. Much more info in the article as well as a video of us Cat Skiing in Utah.

I've been in contact with Shaggy crew I'm looking at the Ahmeek 105's mostly for it's all around performance but I when I was talking to them the only draw back is I will probably need a full custom ski down fall of be 6'5" lol and needing/wanting around a 200cm ski lol
