I like that Scramble cards are different (Memory boost and training serve a very similar purpose). Digimon TCG is about doing a "big turn" with your lv6 digimon, but after it is defeated it takes 1-2 turns to rebuild, which makes people more wary to be the ones doing the first move. Having recursion to rebuild the next turn is huge, and more linear decks will benefit greatly from this type of effects.
It's funny, you can waste your opponent's mirage's memory gain effect. Use scramble, play a searcher, add card to hand, opponent gains the memory and you're back to 3
@@srautmustafa5075 all effects must be resolved before switching to opponent's turn. As east explained in the vid, you can choose to activate the memory tamer's start of turn last, so you can essentially force them to use the memory gain and then go to 3
@@anthonyrealmuto1844 If the opponent has any responses to a Digimon being played they'd go off before the Memory setter, as the memory setter is start of turn and all abilities are put onto the stack at the same time, but are resolved in the way the owning player wants them too with turn priority. If opposing player plays leviamon in response to you playing a digimon from scramble your memory setter would wait until after Leviamon as the newest effects take priority over already pending ones.
One thing i was thinking about these Scramble card is that it's really good even in something like RedHybrid, you can use it's main effect to digievolve an Aldamon for 2 memory into EmperorGreymon BT12, do your thing and if the opponent tries to delete it you are just ok with it, next turn you can use the Scramble, put Emperor back on the top of your deck, play a Flamemon from trash and still have all of your tamers to do another EmperorGreymon with something like Takuya BT12
Hunters might use that really well. It’ll just let you bypass the rookie cost, then go into Arresterdramon, and do the crazy Hunter stuff without wasting any memory on the startup.
I've been testing the scramble in sakuyamon and it feels really nice when bt17 comes out, recycle your cards that dig out your plug ins, play for free to turbo your board etc
All this is great, and will, I'm sure, lead to very interesting games from time to time, but in my opinion the most broken thing about these cards is that they give powerful recursion to non-purple decks. Being able to use the trash as a resource is what got purple of the recent bans and not all colors had ready access to that. Now every color can get things back. Just to use an example, with the release of BT15 I've been having a lot of fun playing Raidenmon using the new machine support cards. But given the rummage effects of many black machines, you are sometimes forced to discard lvl 3 and 4 cards that you may need later in order to dig through the deck. Before there was no way to get these back, whereas with the Black Scramble (a card which can easily be swapped in for the 3x trainings the deck already runs without losing much) I can now recur 1 to 2 digimon for 2 memory. That's getting pretty close to Calling From Darkness levels of recursion, but in every other color. The cards are strong for that reason alone and will likely eclipse even the trainings in many decks as players cotton onto how powerful recursion is for decks that didn't previously have access to it.
@3dbyjoe546 I haven't been playing since about February. I can try and find that list but it won't have anything newer than maybe bt16. Would you still be interested in the list?
These scramble options are really interesting! Bunny Alliance could probably make use of this to help revive bodies for alliance and search. Maybe even Suka/Ete can use this to recover their Etemons and then pop out one of the Sukamon or Chuumons in trash. The only downside is that my wallets going to hurt getting these to play and to add to my Yamuretsu collection.
My biggest takeaway is that you’ve got blog posts of cool interactions and potential combos. The most we get is just ruling posts to clarify. Hopefully global release leads to more of that
Idk what Bandai would say without explicitly changing the games rules. All of these use the currently established game rules. With the cards releasing next week in Japan, we’ll get rulings to go alongside them, but I’d imagine none of what’s been found changes.
@@East_ML Not saying I expect rulings changing anything. Only thing I could see there would be a clarification with memory setting maybe only working from 0-2 memory and not negative memory. But my main point is I’m jealous you guys have so many means to discuss theorycrafting and I hope a unified release pushes the western base to also theorycraft decks a ton. That’s fun for me 😊
The combos are really good but they can be played around. For example, if you have a mon and your opponent sees the scramble they can choose not to kill your mon so that the 2nd effect doesn't occur. Even if you're go Tamer -> Scramble to pass turn with no mons on board you're still leaving yourself wide open for a turn for a mid to late-game combo, which could cost you a game.
Besides the combos with On play effects, sometimes just getting the start of main effects from some rookies can be really strong like BT14 Patamon. This will most definitely become a staple in Gallantmon though as the deck seems to focus on warping from lvl3 to lvl6 more and more
I think lilithmon loop have really a great potential in this scramble cards fucasing on scrumble cards and jack raid , lower end dark animal and higher end lilithmon with zwart , the specially bt16 cerebresmon is 7000 dp and can be played by zwart with warwelf mood who have rush
Assuming you have T.K or equivalent with both Mirei's set up, scramble gets you to BT16 salamon which gets gato before slinging back to 3 memory + 1 from mirei, so you start your main phase with basically 3-4 memory and a mastemon which can immediately swing with alliance, while chaos degrading your opponent on the crackback. Yeah these scramble cards are nuts. That looga combo is funny considering the deck also runs kimera so that's unironically OTK out of thin air lmfao
Because when your turn starts, both the tamer effect and the scramble effect activate, you can choose the order they play out, and your turn cannot end until you play out all of the effects that activated, so as long as the tamer is your last effect you play out, you will always snap back to 3.
The problem with these combos is the Scramble options themselves. The Delay is not a choice, but a must if the condition is met. If the Scramble options were a choice like Memory Boosts or Training options, this could actually work. But because the Scramble options are not a choice, the only reliable time you could use them in this fashion is if they were played during your last turn. You couldn't use the option early on in the game, planning for the combo, because without the memory setting Tamer, if your opponent has a Digimon, the Scramble will always trigger. And sometimes when it does trigger, you don't always have a target in the trash. The more I think about it, the more I think that if you play the Scramble options, you run it at only one copy. The bad situations with the cards seem to outweigh the good, in most decks. As a mandatory trigger, I don't know why it doesn't give you the option to return the card from your trash, it is a must return a card if you have a target.
I actually had a discussion about this with folks in discord and it may actually be the case that these are optional based on the delay keyword itself. I think we’ll have a clear answer next week once the q&a rules for these cards officially come out tho! I’m looking forward to seeing them!
I found a few things. EX05 Kudamon is extra broken with the right set up because he can play out yellow tamers for free. Yellow has a lot of good tamers this can combo (both with on play effects and start of main) with like Sampson to go into a fast kent, but more importantly can be used with promo kari and TK to get another evolution or play out their respective rookies. Then D-Brigade / Digi police has more than numemon that it can use because the deck has a few ways to give rush like BT16 sealedramon. there are a lot of other effects in the game that can give rush long with digimon that have or gain it themselves. I really wish bandai would stop printing these staples cards
Is the start of your turn happens before the draw phase? Cause if yes, u can use its effect to draw a card that was in your trash, or even search with your Digimon if u get the chance to use it's second effect.
The scramble cards were definitely kind of mediocre until this interaction. I can’t believe they ruled the cards like this. This is definitely going to cause some ridiculous interactions in the future.

Go into main phase, digivolve up to one of those level 5s for 3. They get Trial of FGD into play from hand for free, which in turn gets an FGD from hand into play for free.
Won't the Tamer memory setter mistrigger since you already played/digivolved means not only did you skip the hatching/breeding phase, you also entered the main phase means the setter can't trigger effect no more?
Could you explain the looga combo a little more? If I'm understanding it right, it doesn't make much sense to run baluchi and dracmon. The whole point of fenrilooga getting out cards is to be able to swing and alliance with them. You're just setting up a wide board and not really doing anything with them.

If I am not mistaken, if it passes back to their memory prior to the turn, wouldnt it become their turn again? Isn't this just the blue tamer from gracenova, like hasn't it been addressed already?
No, because all of your effects must finish before your turn ends. It’s like if you evolve into a Digimon and it has an Evo effect. If the evolution cost would tip the memory over to your opponent’s side, you still finish your Evo effect before your opponent’s turn starts
What happens if you dont have the memory tamer tho? Does your turn end right there or do you get the chance to get your breeding phase and your start of main phase ?

Hey at 12:57 just trying to figure out how promo Dracomon would be able to play out a Groundramon card to then evo and eventually DNA into Examon? Or is there some other way I’m not seeing?
Promo says when you play groundramon you can warp the draco into a wingdramon. Groundramon then says since you hard dropped me for 7 and are passing turn, you may DNA me and your new wingdramon that evoed from a draco into a DNA digimon from your hand.
But how do you take advantage of that during the Start of Turn? Like, how can you play your Groundramon before your Main Phase? Or is it just useful because you can start with an empty board and then get to Exa one step faster with the free Lv3?
dracomon won't be able to take advantage of this. Editor was likely grabbing all things with like keywords but the specifics here don't allow it to work at the necessary timing.
At the start of the combo, I said please assume there are other Digimon in the trash, in which case we would slot one of them on top of the deck instead of Phoenixmon
I fail to see the benefit in the first combo.. the result wouls have been the same wjth scramble resolving at the sane time or after. The combo vas evolving removing the tamer then putting back on evolving and so on..
I'm really not a fan of these cards. They encourage you to not commit to the board so you can take advantage of the scramble, and they encourage your opponent to not commit to the board to deny you the scramble. Feels like in the world where they're relevant it encourages very uninteractive play-patterns
That ruling was always obvious -- Digimon can't attack the turn they are played. Whether they were played in the Raising Area or not is irrelevant. This was simply an issue of a judge making an incorrect ruling.
This has guard rails. The opponent has to have a Digimon in play, and the delay effect is mandatory. You cannot choose to use it or not. You must use it if the conditions are fulfilled
Is it manditory? I thought a few Delay cards were worded similarily and AREN'T manditory, like Biting Crush, Fog Barrier, and the new Legend Arms Option. It'd be kinda messed up if Biting Crush FORCED you to play Levia from Trash if your opponent played a guy. They could totally work around the trap with ease!
@@Zubagon The way it is written in the reveals we have seen thus far, even in Japanese, it reads "If your opponent has a digimon, Put a card back on top of your deck. Then you may play a 2k DP or lower Digimon. The play 2K dp digimon is optional, but the put card on top of your deck is not, but either way the option card is sent to the trash after.
@@East_ML Oh wait, I see why it's mandatory. It's because the "return to deck" doesn't say "You May". I was getting hung up on the Delay condition, but I didn't realize that all of the other Delay cards say "When (Trigger), Delay: You MAY X". My sleep addled mind can't handle it rn lol.
@@East_ML I'm pretty sure effects are never mandatory. is a keyword for "After this card is placed, by trashing it the next turn or later, activate the effect below." As it is a "by doing [X]" effect, you can choose not to trash the card in order to not activate . Otherwise, Biting Crush's would also be mandatory whenever an opponent's Digimon is played by an effect.
That interaction with the memory setter don't work like that. The meaning of "2 or less memory" it's simplified by having 0, 1 o 2 memory. At the beginning of your turn your tammer "triggers" but not activates his effect, after you pass the memory before the resolution to 1 or more to your opp side, for mechanism of the game your turns end, the requirements for set your memory to 3 are not accomplished so it cannot activate his effect.

Honestly I say it's the best when it's a deck that has little to no recovery cuz these cards have been amazing in Diablo
isnt this a gracenova zuba promo kinda combo that got them banned for being played together?
That was an impossible to break loop.
This is only a combo that can be used max 4 times.
Great in chessmon
just one question, do end of turn /start of turn triggers occur from the other player when you got to negative memory like this?
Not until all of the current turn effects have resolved. Then if your turn would end you do end of turn effects, followed by start of turn effects by your opponent.
I've never seen that promo rookie in my life...
Question: can digimon effects like for example pillowmon bt-09 " all turns players can't play digimon by effects" blocks this new scrambles cards??
Yes!
How do i find the Dracmon in English T-T we gotta wait for RB2 man.
Hemm with how it's work probably slow deck like ragnalordmon can uses that as set up before uses memory setter tamer. Especially you now have consistent in gacha if you rigged your top deck.
because the effect is at the start of your turn, it is before you draw. You would just draw the card. That would only work if you used 2 scrambles
Wait i though you draw first and activate delay effect. Like you activate "unsuspected" all digimon and tamer first before you uses there effect.
@@AnangRabo start of your turn is the literal start of your turn, so since the effects activate when it begins, it would be before you draw. What you're thinking of is start of main phase
@@johnphileobaua
No, i pretty sure it's before "start of the turn" and after that mandatory effect like tamer or digimon "start of the turn". After that you doing raising phase and main phase went "start of main phase" trigger.
Is kind weird for me like ever first step in any card game "draw and activate your card on fild" can be out run by "effect" went mechanic always be the first priority for my thinking.
@@johnphileobaua also because he explain it not draw and unsuspended don't mean it before doing it. Yeah some effect can make you can't unsuspended but i never see an effect can out run you for first step drawing in your deck, digimon or any card game.
@@mrekidYeah that’s what I was thinking was going on because I can’t think of a way Dracomon would be able to do anything with this unfortunately
4:16 shouldn't the pheonixmon be on top of the deck already? or is that a may effect?
At the start of the combo, I said please assume there are other Digimon in the trash, in which case we would slot one of them on top of the deck instead of Phoenixmon
@@East_ML Completely missed it, my bad
No worries! Happens to the best of us
"With the new purple scramble you don't always need Loogamon to make your plays"
Ooh tell me more
>plays card that never released in the US
Aw...
Who said them effects was meeeh lol they tripping…I took a break around 13 …now I’m coming back
Something something Alter S momentum.
I fail to see the benefit in the first combo.. the result wouls have been the same wjth scramble resolving at the sane time or after. The combo vas evolving removing the tamer then putting back on evolving and so on..
Digimon is starting to be more like Yu-Gi-Oh each day
If everyones on steroids is it really cheating?
Digimon entering its Mark McGuire Baseball era
Why they always promos bruh
But why is it called scramble?
I'm really not a fan of these cards. They encourage you to not commit to the board so you can take advantage of the scramble, and they encourage your opponent to not commit to the board to deny you the scramble. Feels like in the world where they're relevant it encourages very uninteractive play-patterns
They need to make a ruling, like the did to the deva Mimi combo.
what ruling?
That ruling was always obvious -- Digimon can't attack the turn they are played. Whether they were played in the Raising Area or not is irrelevant. This was simply an issue of a judge making an incorrect ruling.
If this is true.. im actually afraid of the damage this can cause to the game, this is very yugioh
Otherwise, Biting Crush's would also be mandatory whenever an opponent's Digimon is played by an effect.
if the digimon was played the same turn, the same digimon cant attack using blitz bc Summoning sickness
Garudamon X effect gave itself Rush, hence why it could attack the turn it was played
This is so freaking absurd xd. I think Bandai never test the cards before release them. This is a very broken mechanic.
It's clear u have no clue what u talking about lol
