After being involved in a dangerous relationship, Brenda had to leave her home and leave behind her beloved pets Rainbow and Kitty.

“I was sad, 'I mean,' sad, crying, thinking, 'How are my cats?'" Brenda said.
ㅤ
However, her situation changed when she was admitted to a URI shelter in Brooklyn that protects survivors of domestic violence and also accepts pets.
