Quick tip from a Pro 1.0 owner: If you're having adhesion problems, purple Elmer's Glue sticks are excellent for solving this. I use extra wide strips of blue painters tape and purple glue sticks to achieve exceptional adhesion, sometimes too much if I'm honest. I print ABS mostly, and this works with the bed being heated for that use. If the tape tears, it generally only affects one strip of the wide tape, and I can just swap that one out with a fresh strip.
Actually came here to say this exact thing. I bought this printer to print exclusively ABS, and it does a fantastic job of it. The only thing I will add do your comments... print the E3Dv6 cartridge and do the upgrade for easier nozzle swaps for abrasive materials. This printer with the E3Dv6 is about one of the best ABS printers on the market.
@@ernestlane hi thanks for the comment, haven't used mine for a few years, cleaned it up for a face mask project, ran up OK sent it to a Demo started then stopped Fault 40 sw off when I smelt burning, contacted support waiting to hear, bit of a pain need the facemask for another project
Hey, I'm having a big problem with the calibration of the printer. When I go to calibrate it doesn't give me the instructions to turn the knobs and instead just says "Calibration Failed" after that it just returns me to the home page, Do you know how to fix this?
HI GREAT REVUE WEN USING MY OWN FILAMENT IS IT JUST THE CASE OF UNLOADING THE XYZ CARTIDGE N LOADING MY 1 KG SPOOL OR IS THERE SUMMERT ELSE I HAVE TO DO TO MAKE MY OWN FILAMENT TO WORK ?
Good video ...I think I found the problem with my prints. That is setting the print speed to high and the movement speed to high. It looks like you need to limit the speeds to one third of the xyz specs to get good prints. Please correct me if I am wrong. Going to try it as soon as I can get the PFTE feeder reconnected to the carriage And yes I printed Brians spool holder as well, but it did warp a bit but it worked.
what about the add on laser? could you do a video on that please and WHERE to order the laser. there is no place to order the laser on amazon...it's just NOT there...lmao
"Brian The 3D Print Creator" should properly be credited in the text (for the spool holder), since it's too late to put it on the video: www.thingiverse.com/thing:1234196
What about the nozzle? Does XYZ provide replacements or tougher versions of it? (or smaller nozzle diameters). A bit sad to hear about the lack of fans for PLA printing. Seems like an oversight .... I also despise the tape solution, and it seems weird they do not have a PEI solution :/ But well, it's nice to see XYZ allow third party slicers and filament, some common sense ...
That is a great question! Unfortunately it doesn't look like they have different nozzles, and to replace a worn out nozzle you have to purchase another entire hotend at ~$100. So, I wouldn't recommend trying to print abrasive materials on this printer. The lack of a fan is a big oversight, it really limits the quality of smaller PLA prints. I haven't looked around for mods that anyone have done to add one, but I plan on doing that soon.
Thanks for your comprehensive review of the Da Vinci 1.0 Pro. My mind is now made up and I will definetly buy a Da Vinci 3D printer. However, I am considering buying the Da Vinci 1.0 Pro 3 in 1. Could you review the 3 in 1 as well.
Now this is a very good review... I was looking for my first 3D printer, and I was looking at the DaVinci 1.0 and as a 3d artist, I don't want to be locked into a closed system. And for the filament, I go to matterhackers for the filament I want. I will have to wait until Black Friday for any sales that will come about :)
Great review but honestly you use too many technical terms "STL" for example. When you use a term that is probably unknown to beginners you can simple state the term give a common definition and move on I found myself wondering what about 5 technical words meant. But very informative Thanks you Great job
Da Vinci Pro users, please consider printing a set of these for cooling PLA prints, or for ABS fume exhaust. It works great, and only requires some inexpensive 140mm fans and an external 12V power supply.www.thingiverse.com/thing:1905254 Tempest 140 Cooling Ducts In Action (video):ua-cam.com/video/z28Kkj39LEw/v-deo.html
This isn't the all-in-one model, so no scanner, but I did pick up the laser engraver. I haven't been impressed with it the couple of times I've tried, couldn't quite get it to engrave properly, whether on paper or wood.
Just another example of a UA-cam shill pushing junk products onto unsuspecting people. This printer has a really bad feed design and should be avoided. And by the way, take the engineering off your name before you get sued cause I bet you don’t have a PE license.

@@FireRescue_Guy I actually did that on mine too! I went with a clone hotend and got lucky to get a good one. It works great!
I just got this for Christmas. Awesome review! Direct, detailed, and no filler - just how I like my tech reviews. Keep up the great videos!
Great review and I learned a lot. Got this unit as a gift and I am learning it in a slow process. Thank you for your work.
Did you get on with it ok
@@merlindxb4333 I got it to work. Temperature control needed a work around.

thank you. This was the last straw that broke my buy-it-camels back. Arrives soon. Really appreciate it.
thank you for a great review, it has answered a lot of questions - keep up the good work
i just purchased the 3 in 1 xyz it should be here within the week. thanks for the video..it was very helpful. great job.
Very nice job describing and explaining the printer.
Excellent review
Nice review buddy! I wish you would have talked about the scanner and optional laser engraver however but overall this was helpful!

I know if you press the HOME button on the menu screen it turns the lights on in the printer, but how do you shut them off?!!!
Hi, u say you can use third party filaments but what about when it reports that it’s out of filament because of the chip?
When I try to calibrate my printer the head and probe do not touch the front metal part. It completely misses it. What would cause this?
How do you get the "X" axis sensor? Which is the front right sensor I believe?

Thanks! I was wondering which spool holder was the right one!
Does this printer come with a built in scanner?? If so how was it??
my printer is not printing the filament is not coming out what do you think is wrong?
Thank you for all of the great info. Found your video very helpful

how I can fix this problem?

How long did it take to print the eagle/bird you referenced?
I did not write it down, but If I remember correctly it was about 6h30m.

No man no glue!! Just use metal scrubber to Matt the surface of the tape!!!!
Hi bud are you still picking up your comments
Thanks Bro. great info
45mm/s Now that is a shame..
Thanks for the review, I considered one, but without a cooling fan this printer is garbage.
Thats just plain stupid thinking. You can add one for less than 10 bucks. I print as is and no issues cuz of no fans. Geesh.
pretty bad device if you compare it to Creality Ender budget 3D printer
Yeah, it's amazing how much has changed in the 3d printing space in the last 6 years.

I do not recommend this shit, the worst printer in the world, even a 150 Euro printer prints better.
