What people need is to know how to hold the monitor from all 4 corners! BTW, your dad's expressions are priceless! And your enthusiasm is great. No wonder you have so many subs. Its so unusual to have parents involved yet this adds an aspect of authenticity rarely seen on UA-cam because almost nobody younger ever involves their parents. Nice to see. Also its relevant to a wider age group further increasing your view. Very wise!
perfect! thanks for showing me this video. This is the exact model I was looking at so I'm glad this also shows me how to get it mount ready! thanks again bro just subscribed you've been very helpful.
blue flamingo. I was actually working on a 3 monitor setup and JUST realized that my AOC models (IPS same as the video model) had no vesa mounting hardware. So this video was exactly what I was looking for. Did your 3 monitor mount allow you to adjust height? do all 3 sit around the same height? or is it different due to the modification.
thank you this is exactly the solution i was looking for. amazing content right down to the exact shopping list of items i needed to make it work giant time saver and cost savings of having to buy a second vesa monitor.
Nice video, totally needed this idea! thanks! Looks like everyone else covered the music/fast sweep correction. Take the feedback as learning, its good advice! Great job! Keep making vids bro!
I did use this solution. The insulation wasn't required for my install but still, not a bad idea. One issue that I wanted to not if you are doing a dorm room style desk under loft bed install. My main monitor is an AOC 22" similar to the one in the video with a smaller/older Acer 19" as my secondary. They don't sit at the same level. The two options were have the AOC higher and the Acer lower, scraping the desk almost OR flip AOC, flip the portrait and have them nearly level with the Acer a bit higher. I did the second option as the Acer is my TV of sorts. Not Ideal but a heck of a lot cheaper than the $30 for the adapter bracket. I am still getting that or a better VESA arm kit when budget permits for now, this $12.32 solution is GREATTTTTT.
nice work, had an aoc myself wanting to mount vertically, this is great and i'm going to add 1 layer of non slip fabrics front and back of the monitor 'leg'. thx for this idea
Ironically convenient video, considering the fact that I plan to buy the 23" version of the same monitor. A sidenote: It's a clever mod for anyone with the same monitor brand in case one wants to keep it in new condition (or the need to ever revert back to the included stand).
Does the foam pipe insulation size matter? Like some is 3/8 in x 3/4 in, while others is just 3/4 in. Also do the screws you showed in the description have nuts, on home depot's website it doesnt say so
@swashin what triple arm are you using? Do you know if this will work with all triple arm mounts? And thank you for this video. Been trying to figure out how to Hack these AOC monitors to make them VESA mountable, and damn if you didn't figure it out awesome :)
Blue Flamingo: Thank you so much Matt! I have 3 of the same monitors and have been looking at desk mounts for them and ran into that trouble with the adapters, they sell them for $25 each on amazon.. But $5 each on a very easy install like that, Ill take it!! :)
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS IDEA . I ACTUALLY DID IT . I HAD JUST PURCHASED THE SAME MONITOR . AND EBAY WAS CHARGING 15 BUCKS PER ADAPTERS . I WAS GOING TO BUY IT UNTIL I SAW THIS . AGAIN THANKS . WISH I CAN SHOW A PICTURE OF IT
•TheHood• │Team Channel Oh gosh. Let's pull apart the argument that I'm a "dumbass". No capitalisation at the start of your sentence. [1] Dumb-ass is a hyphenated term (look at my spelling for reference). [2] Ellipsis never come in twos; use 3 or use none. [3] Says who? [4] I rest my case, dumb-ass.
I'm getting the AOC i2367Fh 23" Monitor and this will really help. It's the smaller version of yours, isn't it? Thanks a lot for this video, you're the man!
Vesa adaptesr are out there but crazy expensive, $25 is a steal . I paid $23 for the dual stand on eBay, real good quality, I was surprised. So that's why I am here looking for ideas. Thanks
I actually have these exact monitors and ive been trying to think of a way to mount these to a vesa arm, and i just found that solution. Holy crap thank you
@Swashin, which monitor mount are you using? I have 3 of these same monitors and would like to set them up the exact same way that you have them. From one New Yorker to another....help me out!
I just ordered me a new 27" LG led monitor and it has a 100x100 vesa compatible wall mount, so i wont have to use your method :D Still, nice video, man!
Thank you for this magical mod! I have 3 AOC monitors and didn't feel like spending $30 on EACH VESA adapters! Also, thank you for the LOUD MUSIC warning lol.
so i might be wrong but im pretty sure that brand of monitor (and this DYi will only work for this brand) actually makes a adaptor for vesa and if something goes wrong atleast u can blaime them.
It really begs the question why certain monitor manufacturers were stupid enough to think that it was somehow a good idea not to include vesa mounts as a default feature in the first place. If we can do it for $5, they could do it for even less than that! >:(
Please, please don't put music with a 300% volume increase in the middle of the video, thanks.
Simon Hildén hahahaha
dislike for this kurwa mać
broke my head phones
Thought I was the only one who realized this....
AGREEED. FUCK! that was loud.
"how to mount your very specific non-vesa monitor that has this metal thing in the back"
huh
"And we'll show you the final monitor setup"
**loud obnoxious dubstep plays**
@Gia huỳnh thiết definitely not dubstep
So apparently all EDM is Dubstep ;)
Gia huỳnh thiết u asked for it Darude sandstorm
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ah yes, this will work perfectly for my monitor that connects to the stand via a plug at the base instead of a goofy metal L on the back
Lol, same

Great job taking the time to do this!
I can confirm this works with Acer R240HY.
It doesn’t. They don’t have the L bracket on the back
blue flamingo.

I didnt understand the video the first time I watched it, but now I see how everything was installed. Thank you for the idea man.
You made my office set up that much sweeter. Thank you! Now I'm able to mount my AOC.
Nice idea, but it depends on finding U-bolts with either a 75mm or 100mm spacing between the holes.
Nice video, totally needed this idea! thanks! Looks like everyone else covered the music/fast sweep correction. Take the feedback as learning, its good advice! Great job! Keep making vids bro!
Great video! Really needed this for the future
How nice, I got 2 of those, and was wondering how to get them VESA mounted nicely without doing any holes or whatever on them. Perfect!
Great video! excellent workaround for mounting non VESA monitors. worked perfect for my AOC 23"...thanks!
I got my refurb 23" IPS AOC monitor for $90 bucks, perfect condition! Thanks for this
Jack Farnsworth dollars 90 bucks
Thanks, this worked great with my HP 27FW monitors!

Looks great Matt!

Well done. I have the exact same monitors, ordering a triple stand now!
Please don't do those fast monitor shots in only 30fps again please, they give me motion sickness (not sure about other people though)
Blue Flamingo
I'll make them faster next time
swashin *Vomits everywhere*
+swashin You can just not repeat and reverse a shot like for 10 times, right? Nice video though.
youre panning too quickly
Those slider clips looked like trash
Great idea and a great video, as always!
Blue flamingo.....thanks for the video. Great job, I will be doing this.
The setup looks a lot better after this 😱
@swashin what triple arm are you using? Do you know if this will work with all triple arm mounts? And thank you for this video. Been trying to figure out how to Hack these AOC monitors to make them VESA mountable, and damn if you didn't figure it out awesome :)
You should post it on lifehacker
Perfect. Exactly what i was looking for. Except the music that kicked in. RIP ears.
You deliver, guys.
Those monitors look so sick mounted! Blue Flamingo.
can u link me the triple monitor mount you used? and this is sooo helpful thanks so much
+Fumes I want to also
Blue Flamingo: Thank you so much Matt! I have 3 of the same monitors and have been looking at desk mounts for them and ran into that trouble with the adapters, they sell them for $25 each on amazon.. But $5 each on a very easy install like that, Ill take it!! :)
I picked up a monitor today off craigslist, and it happened to be this one, Thanks!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS IDEA . I ACTUALLY DID IT . I HAD JUST PURCHASED THE SAME MONITOR . AND EBAY WAS CHARGING 15 BUCKS PER ADAPTERS . I WAS GOING TO BUY IT UNTIL I SAW THIS . AGAIN THANKS . WISH I CAN SHOW A PICTURE OF IT
Well now i know how to mount mine when i get them! Thank you so much. Liked. bookmarked (For future when i do it) and subbed
Thanks for your help man!
swashin what mount were you using for those monitors? and what did the mount connect to?(a pole?) btw great video
THANK you for that warning annotation! xD
I can't be the only one that thought he was just going to velcro them to the wall, right?
•TheHood• │Team Channel Oh gosh. Let's pull apart the argument that I'm a "dumbass". No capitalisation at the start of your sentence. [1] Dumb-ass is a hyphenated term (look at my spelling for reference). [2] Ellipsis never come in twos; use 3 or use none. [3] Says who? [4]
I rest my case, dumb-ass.
+Oli Blakeman I thought that
+Oli Blakeman savage
just make shure its on good
Any ideas for taking a Ergotron wall mount with stationary VESA (100X100) plate and getting it to be rotational without the use of tools? Thanks..
I'm getting the AOC i2367Fh 23" Monitor and this will really help. It's the smaller version of yours, isn't it? Thanks a lot for this video, you're the man!
from a DIY perspective this is solid, from a" do as I say" perspective I'd put it more in the "not as I do" category.
Vesa adaptesr are out there but crazy expensive, $25 is a steal . I paid $23 for the dual stand on eBay, real good quality, I was surprised. So that's why I am here looking for ideas. Thanks
Do you trust this to work in portrait mode??
I actually have these exact monitors and ive been trying to think of a way to mount these to a vesa arm, and i just found that solution. Holy crap thank you
Me too.
Hello, did you end up following this method? if you did, how is it holding up today?
@Swashin, which monitor mount are you using? I have 3 of these same monitors and would like to set them up the exact same way that you have them. From one New Yorker to another....help me out!
Thanks for this!
Hey dude nice video, Been tempted to do this before but aint got the ballz :D You showed me it was pretty damn easy. Cheers.
I have an acer R240, you think this would work with this?
I think that this might be my solution..Thanks!
Do you know if this works with a MX279H Asus IPS panel? It's got a similar stand.
Great tutorial! Will this work for mounting the monitors vertically?
Did you ever manage to find a way to turn it vertical. I am looking to do the same but I am afraid to try it
Will this work for any non vesa compatible monitor?
can you do this with a 27" vx279 the arm is not like that one
blue flamingo, nice job Matt
@swashin How is it holding up today?
Does this only work with aoc monitor because I have a delk
I just ordered me a new 27" LG led monitor and it has a 100x100 vesa compatible wall mount, so i wont have to use your method :D Still, nice video, man!
Hey thanks. Didnt notice i bought monitors that could not mount and was looking for a way to mount it. Almost drilled holes!
BAD ASS TUTORIAL SUBBED!
I bought the supplyslets hope it works
do u know of any way to do that for an acer 24 in led monitor?
I'm actually going to try this tomorrow, but with 27 in Samsung UHD monitors in Portrait mode.
What was the pipe installation needed for??
What monitors are used in this video
Thank you for this magical mod! I have 3 AOC monitors and didn't feel like spending $30 on EACH VESA adapters! Also, thank you for the LOUD MUSIC warning lol.
best part. this is the monitor i have so i know it will work
Do a video on how you got a third display with your mac mini
so simple but very clever.
How did you guys put the First item on the back of the monitor though
thanks you broke my ears with the music at the end
What was the pipe insulation for?
Is the foam necessary? What if I just go bare metal?
so i might be wrong but im pretty sure that brand of monitor (and this DYi will only work for this brand) actually makes a adaptor for vesa and if something goes wrong atleast u can blaime them.
+Flip Grav and sorry if it sounded like i was taking away from the project it is still a great ideal
That's actually pretty clever!
does this work with the optix g24?
When is the next pimp matts setup? Wanna see the new setup
smart. perfect for HP
Cool video. Thanks
Does anyone know what the screw is called under the monitor that holds it together beacuse I lost it and I need it for my new setup
Thanks broooo👍🏻💪🏻👊🏻
would this work with the DELL S2415H
would it work for a samsung s24d200 ??
yes I have two of does monitors and I need help with mounting
nice stuff you are sharing here
will this work on a 23xi?
With this technique and the same monitor as shown in the video, would you be able to rotate the monitor and put it in portrait mode?
as long as the monitor mount supports that and the monitor is secured very well then yes you can very easily do that.
blue flamingo! this is brilliant! SUBBED!!!
What size machine screws and nuts?
It really begs the question why certain monitor manufacturers were stupid enough to think that it was somehow a good idea not to include vesa mounts as a default feature in the first place. If we can do it for $5, they could do it for even less than that! >:(
How much was the mount you had have the same monitor.
blue flamingos
