So awesome! I sailed the same channels, with the same destination, stopping in many of the same harbors, a few years ago. The hard part reflecting back is that Alaska never leaves, you always want more. Enjoy!
Enjoyed your video. Somehow comforting to hear you have the same reaction as I had during my first (and last) trip to Alaska. You two salty dogs make it so much more enjoyable. Watch out for hazards to navigation and keep in mind your position on the food chain. -Curt❤❤
So glad you enjoyed it Curt! Probably a common reaction to be absolutely gobsmacked! The landscape here really is that dramatic and beautiful. We certainly don’t want to run into anymore bears😅 Thanks for writing Curt, we’ll see you in the next one!
Epic episode!!!!! I absolutely love your content. Very inspirational, especially rounding the "corner" and seeing the mountains grandeur!!!! Wow, cheers!!!
I was born and raised in Alaska,it warmer my heart to see you pull the anchor by hand as that was my job for many years. Your filming eye is doing great justice to the wide open space of Alaska. You folks are great.
Awe, that’s amazing! It’s a great compliment to hear we’re doing the landscape justice, we put immense pressure on ourselves attempting to capture it well. So thanks so much for that!
John Muir, another great Scotsman. Watching your previous videos reminded me of sailing Scotlands west coast, but moreso the Southern West coast of Norway........ I didnt think anything would surpass the majesty of the nature and light of arctic North Norway, but i think Alaska might be in with a chance...... Beautiful
Wow! very beautiful and stunning sceneries. I guess I'll have to put that on my to do bucket list when I get my sailboat in near future. Thanks for sharing.
Thank You for your new episode) Love your attitude of having a glass half full and not half empty)) Way to Go! We're spending our winter currently in a very warm Mazatlan, Mexico. So watching You cruising cool Alaska waters among the glaciers and such, kind of making us a bit cooler )))) Anyway, I'm raising my Tequila cocktail glass in your honour guys! We'll be back to our beautiful BC in less than 5 months and start our new cruising season as well. Cheers! Looking forward to your new episode, as always)
Awe thanks so much for that! Glad we’re helping to keep cool! 🧊 We certainly would appreciate sipping a cocktail in a warm place such as that right about now, thanks for enjoying one for us! Hope to run into you up here, maybe share an anchorage and a beverage together soon. Cheers!
I just found your channel a few days ago. I haven't sailed since I was a boy, over 25 years ago. Seeing this beauty and the simplicity of sailing a boat on the sea is bringing is reminding me of that time. Thank you for the content you are creating.
Fantastic episode!!! Such awesome scenery and what an epic adventure! And, I'll bet the cuisine on Uintah rivals that of any cruise ship - 😄- I'm sure being in the fresh air on the water all day long will make any meal taste that much better 😀. Really looking forward to the next episode⛵⛵⛵
Glad you enjoyed another one! Things definitely taste better out here. Really looking forward to sharing upcoming episodes. We’re just getting to the good stuff, cheers!
By a miracle I got my boat to the Puget Sound in September. I’m wintering in Bellingham. I plan on cruising north in the spring. I hope I can see you guys.
Yess 🎉🎉 another Alaska video. Will enjoy it with fire in the oven, a hot cup of tea and some biscuits later tonight. Always love your incredible videos, so I know it will be a good time🙂 Anyway, a comment for the algorithm and my best wishes for your adventure .
Absolutely beautiful! Your editing, voice overs….well….. everything is captivating! You two were definitely sailors in another lifetime! What months were your journey? Trying to plan for cruising from Puget Sound in the spring. Thanks for everything you do for us!! Best day of the week is when Allison and James post a new vid!
Awe, love to hear that!! Thank you so much! We left the Broughtons to sail North end of May. This was filmed around the Summer solstice. We cruised around Alaska until mid August when James visa expired. Wish we had more time up there. Might have to head back💫
You both look wonderful and so happy! Was wondering where you were adventuring off to. Alaska is so beautiful and that inland passage though so pretty can be very trying at times. Sailed a portion of it many years ago. Thank you for sharing.🦉🍁🫎🦫🦦❤
Awh, thank you! Being out here definitely keeps you healthy. We hope to keep to a bi-weekly posting schedule although they are a lot of work! The passage is stunning but challenging at times for sure. More about that in upcoming episodes. Stoked to share those with you. Thank you for writing!
glad to see you again I ws wondering where you got to happy sailing although im really a stink potter but did a lot of sailing with a friend on his CT37 pilot house sloop enjoy
You are becoming my favourite sailing channel. And...."The Land of the Midnight Sun". For me then you are referring to Alaska and Norway. However, Al Di Meola wrote a great album with the same title. Great fusion, despite the fact that he based it on the USA being lighted by electric bulls all night.
Thanks! Is it just me or is James starting to look more and more like Ernest Hemingway. If he starts quoting Old man and the sea, it may be time for an intervention.
“Let him think that I am more man than I am and I will be so” Haha we have a copy on the boat! Thanks so much for your continued support Derek! We really appreciate it.
You don't need to answer my previous question; it appears that you have replaced your drowned drone (now that I've watched a couple of times; some shots are obviously from a drone...duh!). Keep up the good work you guys. Um...so winter's coming on soon. Are you back home by now, I presume?
I take it back. I guess what I saw is FUTURE footage so I'm guessing that you picked up a new drone in ?Petersburg maybe. Twas I who was confused. Enjoy.
Correct! We couldn’t continue into the best parts of Alaska without a good aerial camera, especially heading up to the glaciers! But we were drone-less for a couple of episodes.. Winter is indeed close at hand, we’re back in Canada for the time being. Working hard to fill the cruising kitty to fund the next szn💫

Lovely and once again full of joy and enthusiasm, and Maya's music was delightful as always.
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it. Maya is exceptionally talented💫

When ever you are near glaciers, capture some ice that has broken free and put it in your ice box, it will last forever.
It really does! It’s so dense and lasts forever. Kept our coolers (and drinks) cold all Summer, cheers!

Get yourself a large bobber and put it 6 feet from the hook. You’ll get some good fish. Cheers
Thanks for the tip, cheers!
Sry to bomb your comments but if it helps I’m happy. Egg glassing. You may know what it is. If not it’s a game changer for egg life.
I’ve been off grid for a few years and food is first.
So far we’ve been getting away with flipping them every so often, but it’s quite chilly on the boat up here so they don’t tend to spoil very quickly!
Repetitions gonna kill this channel. . . . just saying.
What are you finding repetitious? Us sailing in Alaska?
haters gotta hate! Get over yourself georgeles
