    So awesome! I sailed the same channels, with the same destination, stopping in many of the same harbors, a few years ago. The hard part reflecting back is that Alaska never leaves, you always want more. Enjoy!

      That’s amazing! Agreed, it really leaves a lasting impact. Editing these very much living in reverie, we might have to head back for more!

    Enjoyed your video. Somehow comforting to hear you have the same reaction as I had during my first (and last) trip to Alaska. You two salty dogs make it so much more enjoyable. Watch out for hazards to navigation and keep in mind your position on the food chain. -Curt❤❤

      So glad you enjoyed it Curt! Probably a common reaction to be absolutely gobsmacked! The landscape here really is that dramatic and beautiful. We certainly don’t want to run into anymore bears😅 Thanks for writing Curt, we’ll see you in the next one!

    I was born and raised in Alaska,it warmer my heart to see you pull the anchor by hand as that was my job for many years.
    Your filming eye is doing great justice to the wide open space of Alaska.
    You folks are great.

    John Muir, another great Scotsman.
    Watching your previous videos reminded me of sailing Scotlands west coast, but moreso the Southern West coast of Norway........ I didnt think anything would surpass the majesty of the nature and light of arctic North Norway, but i think Alaska might be in with a chance...... Beautiful

    Thank You for your new episode)
    Love your attitude of having a glass half full and not half empty)) Way to Go!
    We're spending our winter currently in a very warm Mazatlan, Mexico. So watching You cruising cool Alaska waters among the glaciers and such, kind of making us a bit cooler )))) Anyway, I'm raising my Tequila cocktail glass in your honour guys!
    We'll be back to our beautiful BC in less than 5 months and start our new cruising season as well. Cheers!
    Looking forward to your new episode, as always)

    You are becoming my favourite sailing channel. And...."The Land of the Midnight Sun". For me then you are referring to Alaska and Norway. However, Al Di Meola wrote a great album with the same title. Great fusion, despite the fact that he based it on the USA being lighted by electric bulls all night.

    You don't need to answer my previous question; it appears that you have replaced your drowned drone (now that I've watched a couple of times; some shots are obviously from a drone...duh!). Keep up the good work you guys. Um...so winter's coming on soon. Are you back home by now, I presume?

    • @wastinson
      @wastinson 7 днів тому +1

      I take it back. I guess what I saw is FUTURE footage so I'm guessing that you picked up a new drone in ?Petersburg maybe. Twas I who was confused. Enjoy.

    • @AllisonandJamesSailing
      @AllisonandJamesSailing  7 днів тому +1

      Correct! We couldn’t continue into the best parts of Alaska without a good aerial camera, especially heading up to the glaciers! But we were drone-less for a couple of episodes..
      Winter is indeed close at hand, we’re back in Canada for the time being. Working hard to fill the cruising kitty to fund the next szn💫

      @@AllisonandJamesSailing Not at all, your sailing in Alaska per se has nothing to do with what I'm tryin to say. All I'm saying is that using the same video sentence with 3 'different' commentaries won't do the trick in the long run. No matter how stunning is the Alaskan nature around you, it makes it hard for us, viewers to really appreciate it if you filling the pretty good video sentence with a 'filler' audio over and over again. Less is sometimes more. I understand, that keeping the channel monetized and youtube algorithms happy cost's a lot's of time spend on editing and uploading and all that is taking away the fun of full time sailing itself and I get it - you have bills to pay, feed the hydra to keep the show goin' somehow and - being a sailor from PNW myself - there's not always enough things happenin' worth making video abut. Not because it's neccessarily boring but, let's be frank - how many times you can repeat a video abut the same thing over and over again and keep it atractive and worth watching eh? But there's exceptions - if you find some time, check the 'Life is like Sailing' channel as an example how to make relaxing, likable and good looking sailing videos without much talking, where is - compared to your channel - really not much 'happening'. Anyway, I wish you all the best, don't kill the messenger and maybe, one day we can talk abut all this over some good beer - my treat.
      Cheers from SV Poldi
