Repairing Toshiba TDP-S8 projector teardown

The projector will not power on at all or unless you wait up to 10-30 minutes or more. The problem is solved by replacing the 3300 uF 10V capacitor. Repair cost me less than 1€ and took 2-3 hours of work.

The Yageo SEK series is a standard issue, 105 C degrees capacitor, and is not well-suitable for low-ESR purposes. It will work however, but will fail sooner than the original and during its lifetime, will provide poorly conditioned voltage, not very good for prolonged usage. Use SC, or SY series instead, as switchmode PSUs require low-ESR series as a mandatory.

Hi, I have a projector epson powerlite s12+, it has less than 300 hours of use.
While it is proyecting we can notice it loses power and the intensity of projection get down,
then the projection goes normal. But it happens many times. What would be the possible cause?

Good video. Please help me. I have the same model. My lamp is good, I already did the lamp reset, but the lamp warning light turns itself on after 2 minutes and the projector turns off automaticly after 2 more minutes, What shall i do?

Nuno Silva OK. If you haven't checked yet, Also do a continuity test of the fuse near the 'AC in' wire on the power supply, It is a small round black component with fuse label on the PCB
