And make Whitelist to Square enix I mean Square enix predict Disney owned Star wars since KH 1 Final Mix in PS2 Japan edition and KH 2 even made a gummi mission where you fight the Nobody space ship that looked like Star wars heck you even blow the ship like destroying the Death star
Samuel Umsted it's a reference to ProJared's Top 10 Worst Games of 2012 & 2015 when he listed Konami (as in The Whole Company) twice on both those lists.
I'm new to your content. Maybe it's just coincidence, but of the 7ish vids of yours I've watched you say something along the lines of "I'm gonna get hate for this" in every one. Dude, this is the internet, say whatever you want and don't apologize for it. You have really good opinions and good vids, who cares if some punks in the comments complain about one of the things you say.
Bump. Been watching this channel for a long time and it’s a bummer to see my man on the defense so much lately. He’s gotten some bad shit in the last year for sponsorship stuff but is still churning out good stuff.
Son Goku he supports and represents groups bigger then himself it’s his responsibility to take whatever bullets he needs to take. He can’t hide behind the internet wall of ambiguity I can’t hide, I must justify the way I live my life until the day I die. -Benjamin Stanford (aka Dub fx)
The thing is that there are a lot of people out there really pouring hate on him, on the level of death threats. All because people think it's fun to rage at others. This shit doesn't fly in the real world but thrives online. It's really hard to form an opinion on something like this without experiencing it fo yourself. You might get irritated and move on from getting some flak in a reply to your comment, yes? Multiply that by hundreds daily in more formats. Anything from twitch, youtube, emails, twitter etc. It sucks that people can be such dicks to each other when they know they can get away with it.
I've been watching his videos for a long time, and he has always done that. I think he may see some people expressing their difference in opinions as 'hate' when it isn't, but there also is always a lot of unwarranted, real, hate on the internet and I can see how that can get to people over time.
"Nintendoland had some redeeming qualities" Tbh to me its one of the best Wii U games. It utilised the gamepad that other later games just didn't even bother trying. Still one of my favourite games to play when having people around, as its so simple for people to pick up and play
Vsauce Puppet Seriously the fact that that was nominated for Game of the year and not Nier Automata was just upsetting. I'm just glad it didn't win. Also Polygon gave that game a 10. I wish I was joking.
Marvel VS. Capcom: Infinite's roster wasn't even Capcom's fault, from what I've heard. Disney abused their rights HEAVILY when it came to MVC: Infinite. They removed some characters as to avoid cross-promotion, *literally going against the entire point of MVC* , which forced Capcom to remove some characters so the roster would be equal.
I tried the whole Getting Over It thing, got about 3 parts in and I'm about 85% sure I'm done. Here's the thing though, 'cause I doubt I'm the only one who thought this. When you watch somebody play it, the game looks extremely easy. You think to yourself "Hmm, I bet if I gave this a shot, just maybe I'd plow right through it and impress everybody! Doesn't look that bad!" Then of course you actually try it and find yourself up sh!t creek. I think I even made a random quip in part 3 like "Jirard, please never play this, get as far away from it as you can," but guess I was too late! Haha On the subject of clickbait, your videos definitely do not by any stretch fall into that set. What you see in the title/thumbnail is exactly what you get. There's no manipulation or buzzfeed deception going on. Just the same straight up quality content we've come to expect. So rock on, I say.
NintendoCapriSun I can't imagine you being the type of guy that rages that easily, Tim. And I'm with you, it just feels so horrible seeing so many Let's Players and Twitch Streamers try to play this game for views, only to see them rage so hard, I can't tell if they need a hug or a stress toy.
I don't think the appeal of watching Getting Over it lies in seeing people rage. It can be funny, sure, but the reason I enjoy watching it is kind of similar to watching people play hard Mario Maker levels. You WANT them to win. Every inch of progress is something to cheer for and the more they die/fall, the better they get until they eventually get over it and beat the level/climb the mountain. Getting Over It is such a weird game too that you kind of want to hang around to see what's going to happen next. Each new milestone is something that tests the climber in a new way by bringing up new challenges to overcome and forcing you to learn new techniques. Watching a new player turn into a climbing master is oddly satisfying (to me anyway). It's a dumb frustrating game, sure, but I think it's an interesting game experience despite that. I dunno, I find it oddly compelling.
Assuming you weren't being at all sarcastic, you are a rare one. Alot of people I see actually enjoy watching someone's failures and their reactions. And while [most] people who subscribe, DO root for their streamer / channel to succeed and overcome whatever it is, that's not always the case. In addition, the many trolls and low-lifes of the internet get a giggle at seeing someone fail. Props to you.
I'd say it's a even split. People seem to come for the initial reactions/rage (and some of them do get bored and leave) but if the streamer sticks with it and makes progress they seem to get equal cheers and jeers by the end. At least that's been the experience I had watching a few of my twitch subscriptions tackle that mountain. Offtopic: Your name amuses me more than it should.
darkwatershadow I agree with you completely. If you want a prime example of this, just watch PBG & SpaceHampster's playthrough. They not playing just to rage & get views. They genuinely want to progress in the game, they're genuinely enjoying themselves, & their viewers are rooting for them.
I agree with you @darkwatershadow, the game is not just a way to put someone into rage, its rather seeing how the person masters the game and getting thrilled how far a person can get until he falls. Also playing it makes you both angry at times and hooked because its an Skill game where luck can help you out temporarily. Overall I think the game is an great experience for people with endurance.
People buy it because they want to be able to say they beat it. Which to that I say, do what I did. Buy it. Play it for less than 2 hours to see how far yah get, then refund it. And at the end of the day I used the money I was refunded to buy Battleblock Theater instead. A game the creators actually gave a shit about.
Did you know PUBG publishers are upset about Fortnite Battle Royale as if PUBG came up with an original idea. There is a chain of how unoriginal PUBG is at the bottom of the chain is Fortnite Battle Royale, which sought to improve PUBG which ripped off The Culling which turned Minecraft Survival Games into a video game, which was just The Hunger Games in Minecraft, Which is a rip off of a Japanese film called Battle Royale, which was inspired by the gladiator arena's in history.
You guys do realize the Dev of PUBG made the Battle Royal mode in Daybreak's H1Z1 and didn't have as much control as he wanted so left. And he has done mods for Battle Royals since Arma 2, he pioneered the entire genre up until he released his own game PUBG. But according to you guys in 2017 a random guy made PUBG and thought he was the first one to do it in that year. Battle Royal is not a new thing but bringing it to video games is and Brenden Greene has been doing that since 2010, not 2017. So yeah it's understandable that Fortnite is biting off Brenden as 90% of Battle Royal mod/game has been touched by him for over half a decade.
K you don't have to yell I understand your points and do you honestly think I a person on the internet would look up a game developers biography to confirm my points. Minecraft survival games is still older I'll just remove The Culling. He's still ripping off stuff.
Lol the Minecraft survival games are directly based off the movie The Hunger Games and the ARMA 2 mod is more based off the original Japanese movie and the Hunger Games are based on the original Japanese movie. Fortnite is definitely biting off his style but at the same time everyone is biting off everyone, that's the way the world works.
Michael Murchie Yeah after seeing that, I was really glad I didn’t try to get this Collector’s edition and stuck to getting the Deluxe Edition last month for $50.
they're all literally wastes of money, unless you're getting one to sell for more money to make some kind of profit. otherwise they'll just take up space, just there to look nice never touch. i don't see the point of getting overpriced merch **shrugs**
i like when i buy the standard versions and still get a small gift. the only time i bought a special Edition was Lunar 2 Eternal Blue in the PS1(i really wanted the Pendent, and i still have it after all those years too).
Getting Over It was so popular and fun not because of the rage and views, but because of the nostalgic feeling of winning something you have worked so hard for whilst hearing interesting calm dialog :)
*sees Sonic Forces included on the list* Thank you Jirard. Forces may not be the worst game but it is one of the most disappointing especially when they could've had people that actually understood how to make a great Sonic game like Whitehead's crew. The stages felt lazy and copy and paste, the story was lackluster and inconsistent at times with what was already established and characters like Tails really got ruined(my god why is he a coward when he's shown to hold his own against chaos?)
Not only is it worse than Sonic Mania, it's worse than Sonic Generations. Also I really hate Sega for falsely advertising the game by saying it was "from the team that brought you Sonic Colors and Generations" when in reality no one from Colors or Generations worked on it except for Colors' director, who was also Lost World's director.
To be fair most of development was spent on the engine made for the game with only 1 year with actual development and the people working on the game were all newbies except for one lost world person as the colours/generations team were either busy on other projects or no longer with the company. But I think if they didn't have the time constraints it would've been a much better game I mean they did a decent (though disappointing) job despite the problems.
I'm honestly surprised Bubsy the woolies strike back wasn't number 1. I thought that's were the list was going, but instead it was Getting Over It. Nice surprise to the list tho, and an interesting list!
AwesomeToes I think the issue is everyone was expecting Bubsy to be terrible? The bar wasn't very high. I mean granted everyone expects EA to be terrible and yet that's #3, so...
As ProJared did on his channel, YOU CAN BEAT THE GAME IN UNDER AN HOUR. At the very least, you can get a refund from Steam and an hour of bad game. You have to waste money on the rest of these.
Personally i'd never pick games that are ABSOLUTELY going to be awful in my top ten worst games. I just don't even consider them as games, you know? They are practical jokes at best.
I'm mostly disappointed that the guys who made the actually-pretty-good new Giana Sisters platformers were behind this turdball that forsook everything about good 2D platforming collect-a-thon design that the devs OBVIOUSLY already knew but just didn't bother with.
I don't agree with you on some choices here, but at least your top 10 list isn't generic and formulaic. It feels like these are your opinions and I can respect that. Got a like from me!
With regards to Getting Over It, I agree with you wholeheartedly that it gained popularity solely for the fact of twitch and UA-cam rage, but it’s not meant to be a rage game. The whole thing is dealing with obstacles and keeping at it, and essentially trying NOT to be angry. It’s not meant to be a rage game, it’s supposed to help you deal with anger with it’s challenge. . . I mean it backfires since all everyone does is scream in anger when playing it
Honestly I feel like it was meant to be a rage game while not looking like a rage game. It may seem like the narrator is trying to encourage you at first but it more or less ends up more like the narrator is talking down to you and your failure is trivial, which only makes you more mad. Not to mention that the whole time he sounds like someone who constantly wants to bring attention as to how smart he sounds.
Bobby Ferg personally I found it a bit more encouraging than aggregating but to be honest I could totally see how people can find it infuriating like he’s talking down to you
Says Bennett Foddy in a January 2018 interview: "I’ve always enjoyed that fear of being set back a long way, that feeling like stress is going to make you choke. I like watching people choke in real sports, and I like feeling it myself." pickle.nine.com.au/2018/01/18/12/54/getting-over-it-video-game-bennett-foddy This guy's a sadist.
Jevin Corkum I’ve said this many times but I’ll say it again. Just because someone likes a game doesn’t mean they’re a nonce. You could tell me sonic 06 is your favourite sonic game and I’ll laugh at you but not say your autistic for liking it. Different people look for different things in a game like unfair difficulty games that make you rage. Don’t act like your better than someone because they like certain things otherwise your gonna hate almost everyone on the planet. Which I assume you already do.
I really don't understand why people say that Origins is just another Assassin's Creed game. They changed so many aspects about it in response to that exact criticism of previous entries in the series that it feels almost like an entirely new game. What more do people want?
Bennett K I think that most people just mean that they are tired of all these last couple of average games and a lot of people thought this would be the change that assassins creed needed, but it ended up just being fairly bland overall like the last few games.
@@IanMT56 Personally I thought Origins was an amazing entry in the series and the only Assassins Creed Game I actually enjoyed in the last few years. There are lot of changes I really don't see how people say it's the same as the previous games.
Ian Snuffleupagus The general consensus seems to be pretty positive with Origins. Beyond The Complertionist, the only people I’ve seen trash it are AC diehards that just wanted another AC game and those (fairly) criticizing the micro transactions.
I personally love the new games in The Assassin's Creed series. Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla was a breath of fresh air that changed the series up in a good way in my opinion.
For Honor hit me hard, it had really interesting combat, but was completely ruined by poor choices. Seriously, Peer-To-Peer? Hand me a floppy disc while you're at it.
PUBG is the best shittiest game I've played in a long while. Every match makes me want to keep playing a game that's like PUBG, but actually good. It's the best of this style of game I've played, but it's still just meh. It makes excited to see what else comes from this genre in the future.
The idea that someone with a platform and influence as large as yours thinks that ‘Getting Over It’ is a bad game makes me feel deeply disheartened. Video games are a vital art form right now and I think it is especially important that we celebrate ones that aren’t just different versions of shooting enemies in the head and watching numbers get bigger. Good luck to you and your channel, though. You seems like a nice person.
Sonic Forces is not a bad game, just disappointing, I personally love this game, making a OC is really fun, and playing as your OC is the best part of the game in my opinion. But Classic Sonic is poop.
man i love your top 10 videos - so many others feel like copy and paste of the same sort of opinions but your lists this year have felt so refreshing n unique!
Didn´t see "getting over it" coming, but damn, i love you for that even more man. I thought i was alone on this. It got boring really quick. Even a friend of mine wasted money on this "game" just to rage a little on discord so we may have some fun. I didn´t and he never touched it again after that 2 hour session. Thank you Jirard!
As I said in another, it's enjoyable to me. I like games that challenge me so long as it isn't insurmountable. I enjoy IWBTG and Super Ghouls n Ghosts. I like it to spit in my face and shout at me to beat it and I don't get that sense of rage with things other than glitches or when really competitive mood and on multiplayer and I feel really strongly that something should have happened but that's passing. You might not enjoy it, Jirard might not enjoy it, but that doesn't mean there's not a niche market that does. There's a reason things like IWBTG and Kaizo Mario have a cult following beyond just people watching others.
I don't agree with the concept of judging a game based on it's community. That would make Undertale one of the worst games ever. I personally like the game myself and can understand why you wouldn't like it, but it's not a badly made game. If you're going to put it at number one, please make a compelling argument. It just seemed like you just really were tired of it popping up everywhere, trust me, I know how that is. You legit made me kinda angry cause I believe you can do better. And don't pretend like you never jumped on a youtube bait game bandwagon, what about FNAF. This just makes you a huge hypocrite.
Seriously, this. If you're gonna put a game as your #1 worst for a specific year just because you hate the fanbase and culture that has sprung up around it (while also, funnily enough, excusing all of his friends who happened to become part of that culture), you'd better go back and make sure Undertale, FNAF, Breath of the Wild [you know, because a review is important enough to DDoS and dox Jim Sterling over, apparently] and Dark Souls are the #1s for their respective years as well, because those cultures are questionable. I was very disappointed in him for this choice. He literally missed the entire point of the game and there were many, many others he could've chosen. This game had a purpose, a goal, and it accomplished exactly what it set out to do. Jirard is usually very milquetoast and when he finally breaks away from that a little bit, it's to trash a game that didn't deserve it.
@@GKplus8 It's designed to be challenging, sure, but that's not because of its bad design, it's because the controls are difficult to learn. Sure, you can dislike the gameplay, but he makes no case for why its so bad other than that he thinks it isn't a game. I can dislike sports games but I wouldn't call them the worst games of the year, because I understand that I don't personally like the game. People played Undertale and FNAF, because of fan demand so that point is completely null. If you are going to criticize games based upon their community, at least be consistent with your critique. Also, you can't criticise a single player game based upon its fan reception, that's fucking dumb and if you think otherwise, I have serious concerns for humanity.
I *totally* agree with your Sonic Forces opinion. I loved playing through the game, and Infinite was a great villain, there just could've been a little bit more
Same dude. I'm a huge star wars fan and was hyped for it. It looks great visually and promised proper space battles, a new single player story and basically fixed and improved everything that made me not but the original.... only to then be a pay to win grindfest mobile game disguised as a triple a game. Thank God for Jim Sterling, saved me £50 he did. That game is a kick in the nuts for both gamers and star wars fans and even to the Walt Disney company as a whole.
Yep, in the same camp. Always loved Star Wars, grew up with it, etc. Played the old games, and hesitantly embraced the first EA Battlefront to find an enriching Star Wars experience that I can enjoy. When I feel like I've been thrown into the movies? That's good shit. So when EA announced II, I was excited! I was ready to embrace it, with open arms! But....then the news started rolling in. The Lootbox Shitstorm happened (while I agree that tying lootboxes to pay-to-win strategies is highly toxic and has no place in AAA titles, I do not find lootboxes themselves to a problem. When done right; EG: Overwatch, they're pretty harmless, IMO). Multiple government officials began investigating lootboxes, with one country declaring them illegal. EA refused to listen or even communicate with its userbase. The end result....is something I would say is only self-inflicted. Both on EA, and myself. I had SEVERAL months to reconsider my decision to pre-order the game, and yet I decided to be optimistic and go for it anyways. What's really frustrating is that, underneath it all, I *do* see the faint glimmer of a good game. The maps are much tighter and less spread out than previous, so you don't need a jetpack on every loadout to play competently. Ship controls have been polished so they feel less loose. No more scrambling for powerups littered around the map. But at the end of the day, the game's entire structure was built around exploiting players to make a quick buck. I can still derive enjoyment from playing the game, but it's definitely not as engaging as the previous one. Goddammit. The whole experience just makes me more upset that we never got 1313.
2018 1.fortnite ACTUAL CANCER The comunity is agresive if you dont play it man i never say that a game is bad for the comunity but ya know what its bad
THE KING DEDEDE I hate it because it’s absolutely boring. I’ve tried to play that game a dozen times, but I got bored in every match. It got to the point where I would quit the game and switch over to FighterZ or Naruto Storm 4. Even Sonic Forces had more for me to do, in my opinion.
cakebox I know I wouldn't be playing Destiny 2 or COD WW 2 if it weren't for my friends because frankly fun friends make games fun. Even games I adore like Overwatch I just can't play by myself. My friends make that game fun.
Really, you should sit them down and make them play 2-5 rounds of fortnite BR. Then you tell them "Hey, now you own this game and we can play it together, because it's free."
This is a really weird list, even with the disclaimer. I can keep in mind that it is of course it is his personal list, but the reaonings behind things are not very desriptive or critical. #10 is a game he actually liked. #9 he said it just didn't interest him, even though he discussed all the very positive changes and improvements. He never stated anything that got on his nerves other than "It's Assassin's Creed". #7 was not based on the game, it was the player base. I understand you ned players to enjoy the game, but that isn't an issue with game design. It was just a game that came out at the wrong time. #3 was three games. So it's a top 13 worst games list? If he had given them their own spots, that would remove confusing additions like the #10 in which he actually liked. #1 was chosen because of people who played the game. That is such a strange thing to use as a reason to be the absolute worst game. Rick and Morty isn't a bad because their extreme fanbase is a bunch of nut jobs. He did mention gameplay, and if he had stuck with that as his main reason, I'd understand his point, but I find that letting other people effect how you feel about something to that degree, especially when it is a single player game that doesn't require to watch all those videos is strange. It's his video, and he has every right to make his video the way he feels he should, but for someone who makes a living of criticising if it is worth it for a person to put time into games, a lot of this came off as baseless bias. Still love the channel and what he does, but this was a weird one to me.
Travis Mackie no offense but it's clear you didn't really listen to the video if you can't realize why he has a problem with each of the games on the list
HHog if he hates those games then he has every right to do so and these games in some form or fashion has a feature that ruins the overall experience making them bad or mediocre games.
No offense is taken because I did listen to the video. I even rewatched the specific numbers in question to make sure I didn't miss anything. I heard his problems with the games, but some of the reasoning was strange. Again, one of the games he said he straight up liked. For a personal top 10 worst, that seems strange. He also turned his #3 selection into three seperate games. So it isn't really a top 10. I'm not saying he is wrong for having his opinion, I just feel like his backing for hating games was either not very well described, or is a seperate thing that was not caused by the game developers or publishers like Getting Over It being about the fanbase. He has the right to hate it all he wants, and believe me there is enough to talk about with the controls issues, but his reasoning is the people who played it. 16:15 "The reason why it's on this list is not even the game itself that makes me hate it, it's the culture behind it". Heck, he even says he doesn't hate it for the difficult controls. I am aware if he hates these games, he has every right to do so. If there was a game everybody loved, and he wasn't so into it, that's totally fine. I just think he should have 1. judged the games on their own merit rather than other things that suround it, and 2. have actual critical reasoning behind issues with a game. "Its another Assassin's Creed" isn't a great argument when you also state how much they improved and built on the previous entries. It may be a personal distaste, but a "worst game of the year" contender? So no. I listened, and I get it. I see what he is saying, but the issue is that his reasonings don't explain very well how they are the absolute bottom of the barrel, the absolute shit shows, of the year. I feel like spreading out the number 3 spot games into other positions could have made this list better balanced, as those all had pretty good reasons for being there. In the end, it really isn't my list. I can't make him change it, I'm just trying to give constructve criticism on a list I feel could have been done better.
Getting Over It was weird for me too, it was an excellent game in ALL THE WRONG WAYS. Admittedly; beating it feels like an amazing achievement, and the concept of the 'secret room' that the creator wants to keep hidden from those who didn't beat the game themselves is excellent! HOWEVER; as Alex said back in Jirard's Saw episode: "As soon as we start praising bad games for being bad, we've already lost". This game's difficulty comes from horrendously and needlessly broken controls that are always at least partially out of the player's control, the landscape is unbelievably boring to look at, and the premise is inconceivably absurd (but not in a funny way). While Getting Over It's deliberately terrible design makes for an interesting philosophical message, it still doesn't change that fact that it is a REALLY BAD game!
Even the supposed “philosophical message” is really just something the creator wanted to do to make the game seem like it has meaning (in reality he is just saying some vague smart sounding things that justify wasting hours and money for a painful experience) and so he can stroke his ego at the same time.
I bought exactly 10 games that were released in 2017. Out of those, I have only one game that deserves to be on a top 10 worst list. Super bomberman R. It was just simply terrible.
What I love about Getting Over It is just that Bennet actually mentions in the game that people are actually watching it. It's like he knew the culture behind it would become what it has. So for me, it's on my top best games of 2017.
As someone who doesn't stream or make videos, Getting Over It is one of my favorite games of 2018. Always funny to me when I see people say that it's "a bad game only played because of streams"
Got to say, I hate PUBG for it's boring early and mid game which is just 20 minutes of doing nothing at all and little incentive to take risks at all. Fortnite on the other hand both forces players to move fast, making the mid game more stressful (in a good way) as well as motivating players to take risks thanks to it's tiered loot system. Basically Fortnite is everything I want in a Battle Royal + some hideous faces. While PUBG isn't the worst game of the year it's just the biggest failure compared to it's competitors. Even good old Minecraft has better Battle Royal modes which is kinda sad if you think about it for a minute...
MysteryMrR last year was an incredible year for games, so it’s hard to find bad games, it’s not that these are the worst games ever, it’s just that they’re the bottom of the list in this incredible game year
"I hate de culture behind this game and the people doing videos only for views, but here I am playing FNAF and undertale!" I'm not here to defend Getting Over It, but the reason was very shitty
Haven't watched one of your videos in a while but this video was actually so good, you really made me think about my opinion on games, sick video man keep it up good work 😊
AC Origins!? I love most your content but this isn't "more Assassin's creed", different setting, different characters and a whole new genre in the form of an RPG! come on man, give it a shot!
It doesn't change the fact that the overall gameplay and progression hasn't changed. I get that having similarities to previous entries helps when making a franchise, but when you strip it down, all Assassin's Creed games are almost completely identical.
Sensia v7.03 bullshit, gameplay is completely different the gameplay is way different, skill tree etc and this is set 1000 years before the earliest AC before it.
I'm actually really happy and impressed with this video, seeing some of your other completionist videos made me feel like any game made in the last 5 years would get universal praise from you, even if it was a literal piece of shit in a game case, but I'm happy to say i was totally and completely wrong. I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't get player unknown battlegrounds and as for getting over it, i quite enjoy the narration but it seems too derivative of qwop and i don't personally care for it. love to hear your opinions man, keep it up.
If you're gonna put getting over it at the top of the list, do it because Bennett Foddy is a terrible game dev on a high horse who makes games that are all about being as frustrating as possible because you can. Because forcing players to feel something is art, and frustration is a feeling: therefore barely designing a game and releasing it in its shitty frustrating state is artistic. He's also lazy. The main character of getting over it? Adobe Blender Man_1 Don't because of the culture. Cancerous UA-cam culture has nothing to do with the quality of the game until the sequels are influenced by it. FNAF is a very well made and very scary game. Every FNAF sequel is utter shit. And guess who's partially responsible, Jirard?
I was totally right when you put Sonic forces at #10. I couldn’t help but agree with all of it. Oh and btw, is it possible for games on the Mostly disappointing side of the scale to not even be bad? Because I didn’t think Sonic forces was bad at ALL. I agreed with you that despite its flaws, it was really fun.
Some Donkus That is true, this game has a very minimal amount of content with only its difficulty making it so people have hours in it. Still have no idea how people feel justified in there purchase.
I’m glad you addressed the fact that people on Twitch and UA-cam switch from game to game and select party games or rage games. I wish they could do more content on solid games.
The only thing that really bothers me about Getting Over It is the fact that it costs 30 dollars. I mean, if you wanna make a deliberately badly designed and rage-inducing game, it frankly should be in the form of a free flash game for browsers. Like QUOP or the Impossible Quiz. Games like this don’t belong on Steam for any amount of money.
A lot of people make videos like this for views or for controversy and don’t really care either way about the games. You are obviously not one of these people. I could see you giving your honest opinions about these games and being almost hurt by some of these games. Thank you for keeping it real and I can’t wait to hear what you think of games in 2018 👍🏼🤘🏼
10: Sonic Forces 9: Assassin's Creed Origins 8: Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite 7: Lawbreakers 6: For Honor 5: 1-2 Switch 4: Hey! Pikmin 3: EA games (Battlefront 2, Need for Speed: Payback, Mass Effect Andromeda) 2: PUBG 1: Getting Over It.
A top 10? You just COMPLETED my hate! Just kidding, great vid. I agree with your sonic forces review. I also could spot every problem it had, but I still somehow found myself going "wooohoooo" on the loops.
I was watching a reaction of the new Smash Bros trailer, and the girl said "So is it like Fortnite?" That's the reason I'm never playing Fortnite, it's the only video game that non gamers play and it numbs their taste in games to just Fortnite
I agree with a lot of this but Getting Over It at #1 is a stretch, especially when the community is one of the talking points. Good video though Dragonrider.
you should totally do hollow knight! it was my favorite game of last year, as well as one of my favorite games PERIOD. also, its basically made for completionists :)
ya I agree, fantastic game, I think he might just be waiting for all the DLC + Switch version (it will be coming out before DLC 3 though since Team Cherry has said they are focusing on porting it)
Now, i never played pubg, ive played fortnite, but, i never got the critiscism of ''it's too boring and sometimes you're just running an empty space'', i really think that's the point, you never know when someone is gonna pop you, it's a kinda of survivor horror thingie, if you let your guard down during those moments, you may die, it's honestly, good, but the game can crash and burn for all i care, for a game as popular as it is to have so many issues and not fix them more consistently is bad, and they should feel bad, also that whole shitty ''battle royale is mine nhaaaa'' but that's on the guy, not the game itself.
I mean, it's alright to dislike it, i'm not gonna jab him for liking fortnite more, but, i just wanted to point out that Fortnite has the same long distance with nothing, it's the quiet time, quiet time is important. Plus he didn't go in-depth on what he disliked it, i'd probably dislike it too, like i disliked fortnite, i see no point in playing online games since i have a whopping amount of 2 friends, one that also doesn't like online games that the only thing it has to offer is battles, and the other is my girlfriend, who likes to watch games, but not play it.
It's not that really? like, tastes is such a personal thing, some people might find something amazing, others might find it awful, it's like, olives, some people super loves it, and if i so much as touch my tongue on an olive i will in fact barf everything i ate in the last 5 years. But i don't go out of my way to destroy every single olive in the world and send people who loves olives to hell, instead, i'm fine and will even give the ones in my pizza to them, as long as they don't shove it down my throat, it's a mutual respect for opinions yeh know? And this video was that, opinions, it's not facts.
Fortnite is just 9yr olds stealing the Credit cards of their parents for YT views. This may be late, but constantly hearing people praise such an uninspired game upsets me.
Which is to say, it's shit reasoning to put a game as your Number 1 worst. Because at that point, you're not judging the game by its own merits, you're focusing on elements outside of the game itself. A fandom might colour your expectations of a game, but they ultimately don't change what the game actually is. Otherwise, we'd ignore all the great qualities of Super Mario Odyssey and call it the worst Mario game purely for adding inspiration to Bowsette.
the number one (so getting over it) is in MY opinion a bad decision, because you simply put it because of the community, i mean i get it that you hate that this game is used to get views but it is somehow not fit in this top 10 where THIS is the only game where you rate it so high because of the community (and pubg a little but pubg is also in my opinion REALLY bad, because you have to downgrade the quality to play better/ to have no lags etc.) oh and also something to getting over it: i think its a *good* game in the view of people who like simple but hard games, so i can`t agree with the statement with: * *JUST* for views * completly but i understand your view because it IS watched often but ALSO it makes fun to FINALLY beat it so its not utterly trash in my opinion :D btw. cool video :DD

Disney needs to blacklist EA from the star wars ip as soon as the contact ends.
That Other Guy Do they even have game rights?
You kidding? Disney probably gets off to how much money that game makes. If anything, theyll do what they can to keep microtransactions.
And make Whitelist to Square enix
I mean Square enix predict Disney owned Star wars since KH 1 Final Mix in PS2 Japan edition and KH 2 even made a gummi mission where you fight the Nobody space ship that looked like Star wars heck you even blow the ship like destroying the Death star
Star Wars Battlefront 2 put EA on thin ice for sure
Disney is not silent about how little it likes EA
I heard that they presured EA to make microtransactions less intense
Number 3: EA. As in The Whole Company.
Gabriel Valhalla would you like a loot crate with that too
That's not a game fucktard.
Samuel Umsted it's a reference to ProJared's Top 10 Worst Games of 2012 & 2015 when he listed Konami (as in The Whole Company) twice on both those lists.
Sorry, but EA didn't come out in 2017
I would put them in number 1 if I made such a list. Probably give them a place in top 10 worst games of 2013 too.
Wow, This is my first time watching this video and it weirdly predates the events of the Coronavirus.
Now that's a way to say "anyone here in 2020?"
I was literally about to comment this

"The whole US is sick." Wait what year did I click?
Lol that’s cool
The Spongebob “Tomfoolery” in the EA segment was just too perfect. Great video, my man. Keep up the good work.
He can’t hide behind the internet wall of ambiguity
I can’t hide,
I must justify the way I live my life until the day I die.

Son Goku Yeah he seems like that shit really gets to him
I've been watching his videos for a long time, and he has always done that. I think he may see some people expressing their difference in opinions as 'hate' when it isn't, but there also is always a lot of unwarranted, real, hate on the internet and I can see how that can get to people over time.
0:56 i was questioning if I clicked the right video lol
"Nintendoland had some redeeming qualities" Tbh to me its one of the best Wii U games. It utilised the gamepad that other later games just didn't even bother trying. Still one of my favourite games to play when having people around, as its so simple for people to pick up and play
FrankTank_Music Its essentially the party game at my house. My sister doesn’t even like videogames, but she loves Nintendo Land
I SECOND THIS. It has some amazing mini games and playing with friends made it even better
It's amazing, I might even say I like it more Wii Sports/Resort.
The chase games are some of the most fun I've ever had with a multiplayer game.
It's got some of my favourite music in Nintendo history.
I agree with you on PUBG. It’s trash. Plus how did it get a chance to be GOTY?!
Vsauce Puppet Seriously the fact that that was nominated for Game of the year and not Nier Automata was just upsetting. I'm just glad it didn't win. Also Polygon gave that game a 10. I wish I was joking.
Vsauce Puppet Fortnite is much better because it's free and not nearly as glitchy
The fact some people tried to explain why PUBG is GOTY was even worse. It was pathetic too.
Vsauce Puppet Because people are brain dead and think a turd would be GOTY.
So what where the reasons?
Haha
On the subject of clickbait, your videos definitely do not by any stretch fall into that set. What you see in the title/thumbnail is exactly what you get. There's no manipulation or buzzfeed deception going on. Just the same straight up quality content we've come to expect. So rock on, I say.
Tim my dude, you and I are on the same page.
NintendoCapriSun Game is for fucking retards.
zZiL341yRj736
Hey someone’s game preferences don’t change their mental capacity you know.
Just mild thing, when I heard him talk about clickbait I assumed he meant the false advertisement these games got.
Kaizo Aleks Didn't The Culling come out around the same time as Pubg?
Dylan Cross your right the culling came first as well I should add it to the chain above PUBG
I just love how you put SpongeBob music in number 3. It's really fitting.
Easter egg Infinity stones? That’s why I stopped buying special editions !!
Michael Murchie Yeah after seeing that, I was really glad I didn’t try to get this Collector’s edition and stuck to getting the Deluxe Edition last month for $50.
they're all literally wastes of money, unless you're getting one to sell for more money to make some kind of profit.
otherwise they'll just take up space, just there to look nice never touch. i don't see the point of getting overpriced merch **shrugs**
well, at least you're getting your moneys worth, it's better than the alternative
i like when i buy the standard versions and still get a small gift. the only time i bought a special Edition was Lunar 2 Eternal Blue in the PS1(i really wanted the Pendent, and i still have it after all those years too).
PoopScoop Did you even see sonic mania collectors edition it was the best
Getting Over It was so popular and fun not because of the rage and views, but because of the nostalgic feeling of winning something you have worked so hard for whilst hearing interesting calm dialog :)
You had a lot of balls making this list without pandering to the fanboys. Much respect man!
*sees Sonic Forces included on the list*
Thank you Jirard.
True dat
RedAngel. *church music plays*
Nothing about the game is bad.
"Top 10 Worst Games of 2017">"This isn't that this game is bad/I like it"
You should have called this video "Top 10 Most Dissapointing Games of 2017".
I appreciate your courage. Be you, dude. And I hope that you make it through by doing what you want.
Maybe Jirard didn't play Bubsy, so that's why it's not on the list.
I can't believe he put hey Pikmin below 1 2 switch
@@patriciam1932 i can't belive Pikmin is even on the list 💀
I have the same feeling about Sonic Forces bro. I liked playing it and the more I played it the more it grew on me. It's just the game is flawed.
Bobby Ferg personally I found it a bit more encouraging than aggregating but to be honest I could totally see how people can find it infuriating like he’s talking down to you
It sucks. Hard.

Good, game is flappy bird level garbage, anyone who likes it is full of it.
Jevin Corkum you don't like people for liking a certain game?
Jevin Corkum
I’ve said this many times but I’ll say it again.
CAN'T buddy, damn you done messed on

I respect your opinion about Sonic Forces
Personally I was really hyped about this game, but in the end, it was disapointing
The game is getting dedicated server the 15th feb
I see what you did there, saying the game was rad, while showing TheRadBrad footage. Don't think your puns can get past me!
man i love your top 10 videos - so many others feel like copy and paste of the same sort of opinions but your lists this year have felt so refreshing n unique!
EA. Charge for Everything.
EA Sports. t's not in the game.
Jirard
oh shit. I guess i am watching too much ProJared. lol Thanks mate
This just makes you a huge hypocrite.
fuckin' coconut lookin' bitch
Sometimes he completes a game as soon as it comes out, like Mario odyssey and fnaf, so really he was just reviewing a new game (at least for 2-4)
Seriously, this.
I loved playing through the game, and Infinite was a great villain, there just could've been a little bit more
I was looking forward to Battlefront 2. Then... stuff happened... So much potential up in smoke.
Wyatt The Nerd You mean in “SNOKE”
(i hate myself)
That's where you went wrong. You were looking forward to an EA game...
"Stuff" didn't happen...
*EA HAPPENED*

ACTUAL CANCER
The comunity is agresive if you dont play it man i never say that a game is bad for the comunity but ya know what its bad
THE KING DEDEDE it’s not a bad game, the community is bad
Fanbase doesn't matter.
*aggressive
THE KING DEDEDE I hate it because it’s absolutely boring. I’ve tried to play that game a dozen times, but I got bored in every match. It got to the point where I would quit the game and switch over to FighterZ or Naruto Storm 4. Even Sonic Forces had more for me to do, in my opinion.
Definitely agree about PUBG. If it was up to me I would never play that glitch fest. But group of friends only want to play it... What do
Eat Or Die make them get Fortnite
Eat Or Die just don't play it dude lol
cakebox I know I wouldn't be playing Destiny 2 or COD WW 2 if it weren't for my friends because frankly fun friends make games fun. Even games I adore like Overwatch I just can't play by myself. My friends make that game fun.
Tell them they have poor taste and that you're disappointed in their life choices
In a way, this isn't so much a "Top 10 worst games of 2017" list, as more of a "Top 10 worst things about gaming in 2017".
Travis Mackie you got a point there for a top 10 worst list he did seem to sugarcoat most of it even Forces
11:07 Seeing this after watching his Hyrule Warriors video is a bit surreal
Bobby, it's parodying that type of thing with the messages. The creator is making fun of other creators stroking their own ego like that.
Jacob C. Mayer From what I heard the creator is pretty presumptuous himself when addressing criticism.
Bobby Ferg
You know this guy made Girp QWOP and Clop right? I’m pretty sure this is mostly a joke.
JJ JJ I can hear a joke for free. Getting over it isn't free or necessary. The message and joke doesn't justify the price.
" *I'll never do a top 10 ever again it's one and done* "
The Next Year.
The Compeletionist: *These are the Top 11 Worst games of 2018* "
1:00 he predicted the future 🤯
@RULES OF NATURE
I don’t believe you. I firmly believe he took a phonebooth to the future and went back to 2018
I bought exactly 10 games that were released in 2017. Out of those, I have only one game that deserves to be on a top 10 worst list.
Super bomberman R. It was just simply terrible.
"I hope the community of MVCI stays strong."
No MVCI at evo
No MVCI on capcom pro tour
Welp.
What I love about Getting Over It is just that Bennet actually mentions in the game that people are actually watching it. It's like he knew the culture behind it would become what it has.
So for me, it's on my top best games of 2017.
The infinity stones... i know that pain well..
As someone who doesn't stream or make videos, Getting Over It is one of my favorite games of 2018. Always funny to me when I see people say that it's "a bad game only played because of streams"
Damn I loved just how honest you were in this video.
Also good job, keep it up!
I am surprised that you put PUBG on this list, you have some balls of steel man.
Complesionist: getting over it sucks because everyone has to play it on youtube
Also completionist: go play fortnite
Fortnite is not a game designed to make EVERY player upset.
u got a point
This is a weird list. You talk about how you like some of these games but still labeled them as the worst.
MysteryMrR yeah, that was the point of his scale. Liked, but disappointed in the first ones, then the shitshow at the end.
did you even watch the video mate....or you did but payed 0 attention
We all have our guilty pleasures.
MysteryMrR last year was an incredible year for games, so it’s hard to find bad games, it’s not that these are the worst games ever, it’s just that they’re the bottom of the list in this incredible game year
Trying too hard not to offend
"I hate de culture behind this game and the people doing videos only for views, but here I am playing FNAF and undertale!"
I'm not here to defend Getting Over It, but the reason was very shitty
Haven't watched one of your videos in a while but this video was actually so good, you really made me think about my opinion on games, sick video man keep it up good work 😊
you look like Steven Universe with a beard in the thumbnail
That’s an insult to the Completionist dude
@@facebuckets8175 How?
@@leoespinosa1570 Steven Universe is dogshit; that's how
@@facebuckets8175 did you just say that Steven universe is bad it's the best cartoon Network show that was available until 2019 when it was canceled
I wasn’t expecting most of this stuff at all, but hey! At least someone else disliked PUBG
Pubg is great dude
the whole US is sick? that aged badly
EA: Everything's Apeshit
Except for Apex... that’s kinda gud
@@thestarwolf3312 I think Apex is a decent battle royale
I'm actually really happy and impressed with this video, seeing some of your other completionist videos made me feel like any game made in the last 5 years would get universal praise from you, even if it was a literal piece of shit in a game case, but I'm happy to say i was totally and completely wrong.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't get player unknown battlegrounds and as for getting over it, i quite enjoy the narration but it seems too derivative of qwop and i don't personally care for it. love to hear your opinions man, keep it up.
“Everyone in the US is sick.”
Laughs in COVID-19
If you're gonna put getting over it at the top of the list, do it because Bennett Foddy is a terrible game dev on a high horse who makes games that are all about being as frustrating as possible because you can. Because forcing players to feel something is art, and frustration is a feeling: therefore barely designing a game and releasing it in its shitty frustrating state is artistic. He's also lazy.
The main character of getting over it? Adobe Blender Man_1
Don't because of the culture. Cancerous UA-cam culture has nothing to do with the quality of the game until the sequels are influenced by it. FNAF is a very well made and very scary game. Every FNAF sequel is utter shit. And guess who's partially responsible, Jirard?
Devon G for a game like five nights at Freddy’s, the enjoyment of the game can be greatly decreased because of the terrible fan base
Quincy.Seagull especially when the enjoyment stands on 0.
Fifa worst game ever there I said it.!
My problem with Getting Over It wad that it was 7 bucks. Too much for me, buddy. Not doing it.
Honestly the fact people are actually charging money for an experience they know will be tormenting is insane to me.
I don't think it's the fact that it's tormenting that makes it not worth $7, it's the fact that it doesn't have anything going for it besides that
Some Donkus That is true, this game has a very minimal amount of content with only its difficulty making it so people have hours in it. Still have no idea how people feel justified in there purchase.
I’m glad you addressed the fact that people on Twitch and UA-cam switch from game to game and select party games or rage games. I wish they could do more content on solid games.
I’m not the only one who loves Sonic Forces Yes and also he the same opinion as me
Super Sonic Chao me neither
For me I honestly don’t know what to think of the game. But for some reason I always go back to it and I somehow find enjoyment out of it.
Assassins Creed Origins was one my favorite games of 2017 tbh
The only thing that really bothers me about Getting Over It is the fact that it costs 30 dollars. I mean, if you wanna make a deliberately badly designed and rage-inducing game, it frankly should be in the form of a free flash game for browsers. Like QUOP or the Impossible Quiz. Games like this don’t belong on Steam for any amount of money.
Number 1 on this list felt so good to hear, not the game, ****ing youtube
"Why would you say something so controversial yet so brave"
i respect this list but i know a lot of people are going to be super angery
Wait a minute...Jirard, at 1:04, are those the street fighter headbands I mailed to the Couch Fighters? That's so cool!
A lot of people make videos like this for views or for controversy and don’t really care either way about the games. You are obviously not one of these people. I could see you giving your honest opinions about these games and being almost hurt by some of these games. Thank you for keeping it real and I can’t wait to hear what you think of games in 2018 👍🏼🤘🏼
10: Sonic Forces
9: Assassin's Creed Origins
8: Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite
7: Lawbreakers
6: For Honor
5: 1-2 Switch
4: Hey! Pikmin
3: EA games (Battlefront 2, Need for Speed: Payback, Mass Effect Andromeda)
2: PUBG
1: Getting Over It.
A top 10? You just COMPLETED my hate! Just kidding, great vid.
I agree with your sonic forces review. I also could spot every problem it had, but I still somehow found myself going "wooohoooo" on the loops.
I was watching a reaction of the new Smash Bros trailer, and the girl said "So is it like Fortnite?"
That's the reason I'm never playing Fortnite, it's the only video game that non gamers play and it numbs their taste in games to just Fortnite
@Michael Southworth tou should try totaly accurate battlegrounds
I personally don’t agree with Origins placement. I think it’s a really good game, my favorite AC, because of how open it is.
You are one of the few people who is straight up honest with your opinions. I greatly respect that about you. Thx for the video!
Damn you literally just predicted the COVID-19 virus at 1:06
I agree with a lot of this but Getting Over It at #1 is a stretch, especially when the community is one of the talking points. Good video though Dragonrider.
Forces is a “speedrun game.” It gets more fun the more you play it, as long as you find the first playthrough tolerable.
So I guess you couldn't _get over_ the #1 game on this list,huh...?
*STOP! The pun is TOO FUNNY! YOU HAVE VIOLATED THE LAW!*
I still play for honor. I got it late and it has always been rad for me.
I think you should do one every year! Your opinions and justifications were good!
Worst EA game of 2020 so far: Plants Vs. Zombies 3 (R.I.P.)
Yeah, the game has forced paywalls LIKE A FEW LEVELS AFTER THE TUTORIAL
Uhh.. It's not even out yet?
It's 2022 and it's still not out what are you saying 💀.
you should totally do hollow knight! it was my favorite game of last year, as well as one of my favorite games PERIOD. also, its basically made for completionists :)
ya I agree, fantastic game, I think he might just be waiting for all the DLC + Switch version (it will be coming out before DLC 3 though since Team Cherry has said they are focusing on porting it)
never really enjoyed metroidvanias but that game is actually pretty good, it really amazed me
You know, if Nintendo didn't waste time and energy on those ads, they might have been able to afford to pack in 1,2 Switch.
I remember the build up to forces...IT WAS LIKE WW3 BACK THEN!
Winter 77 everyone thought it was gonna be way better
Fucking brilliant. Jirard doesnt get it. When he doesn't know the aesthetics of the game but wants to shit on it.
I find it to be such a sad reason though. It's like hating on the game because it's popular.
Mark Rogian it’s much worse in pubg, the downtime’s are just sooo long and boring
Fortnite is just 9yr olds stealing the Credit cards of their parents for YT views. This may be late, but constantly hearing people praise such an uninspired game upsets me.
His explanation of why he didn't like Getting Over It is the same feeling that I had with Doki Doki Literature Club.
WhnNinjasAttack That and DDLC is literally only there for shock value
Dylan Cross it didnt even shock me tbh
And it's a shit reason for saying it's a bad game. Then Undertale would be the worst game in the whole fucking world.
PUBG is over-hyped flaming crap mixed with garbage.
Adam XYZ So... Garbordar.
PUBG: We have a brand new Battle Royal game!! We have millions of players!
Epic Games: Hold my beer...
the number one (so getting over it) is in MY opinion a bad decision, because you simply put it because of the community, i mean i get it that you hate that this game is used to get views but it is somehow not fit in this top 10 where THIS is the only game where you rate it so high because of the community (and pubg a little but pubg is also in my opinion REALLY bad, because you have to downgrade the quality to play better/ to have no lags etc.)
oh and also something to getting over it: i think its a *good* game in the view of people who like simple but hard games, so i can`t agree with the statement with: * *JUST* for views * completly but i understand your view because it IS watched often but ALSO it makes fun to FINALLY beat it so its not utterly trash in my opinion :D btw. cool video :DD
