  • We are a society of secret keepers; everything from addiction to masturbation, sexual assault and bullying and these secrets are killing us. They cause major health issues such as PTSD, heart disease, mental illness and can even lead to suicide. But there is a way through this trauma. Bravo, Jill!
It's one thing to undergo unspeakable trauma. It's quite another to go thru' the catharsis and speak about it so you can heal and inspire others to do the same.
Your talk will undoubtedly change and even save lives!

Yes - I think it would also help decrease bullying. Have you watched 13 Reasons on Netflix yet?

I let it stay a secret and I abused alcohol for years. The shame and embarrassment guilt and anger you feel about yourself and the anger you feel about your abuser will seep through in the worst way imaginable if you abuse so much alcohol you start sharing your story in public by screaming it in rage and saying all the horrible things that were left to to fester when you keep this secret. Do not let it destroy do not let it take you over. You can amd need to find help and talk to people.

A person who you feel trust & will protect you. If this person is no use to you, never ever are you to blame, the person who harmed you and likely others is the damaged person. Love yourself. Who you are. Believe in yourself. You have done nothing wrong, in a world of many who have and are surviving Child Abuse. You will be surprised, the many boys & girls who have SUFFERED because of others choosing harm to them.

Not all people go off the rails though turning to escapism through alcohol, promiscuity. A lot of people like myself "your body is your temple.' The physiological issues described she is correct.

I was taught my voice is not wanted or needed and must always be silent unless saying something positive. Even when others are harming me and saying horrible things to me. In my head I say ok this person can't be reasoned with and I just comply then figure out how to escape. My whole life has felt like I have Stockholm syndrome with everyone except 1 friend. I'm nowhere near being able to verbally communicate but at least I know I want to learn to speak, but not overly harshly so that things are distorted. I don't want to speak and be abusive but I don't want to be self abusive and set someone up to be an abuser because I don't speak out

It's not a solution to give therapy and make someone overcome something, BUT TO MAKE A WORLD THAT THE RUBBISHES DONT HAPPEN.
