Nice review Jenny, was looking for a review since like you these have just caught my eye too while looking back through some Hornby catalogues and noting they were new tooling in 2018. I am now fitting Kadees to these type of wagons Get closer and less obvious coupling. I have built a couple of Parkside Coke wagons and have been looking for simulated coke to add for a load (not coal)
In service until the early 1980s, according to this source. www.railexpress.co.uk/571/stoking-the-furnaces/ Injection moulding has come a long way since the days of Dublo!
The little hooks along the sides (guards refer to them a coathangers) are there to enable the doors to be opened.
