Congrats and well done to you on your amazing month of reading 📖 for January 2023 please stay safe and enjoy your reading 📖 prayers and thoughts for you and your amazing family love your Aussie family friend John ❤❤
I also read The Mad Women's Ball in January and definitely agree with your review that it was a great premise and setting but that the narrative was unsatisfactory. I talked about it in my own wrap up if you're interested but i didn't like the fact that one of the main characters is portrayed as 'sane' even though she's seeing spirits bc it felt a bit like a cop out of talking about mental health and how we treat women who do have mental health issues.
I got Mad Women's Ball from a charity shop for 50p so thought I'd give it a go anyway despite hearing your review of this before 😂 at least it's short and I'll go in with adjusted expectations 🙃

The Mad Women’s Ball cover is gorgeous!
I’m afraid to read Lessons in Chemistry as I’ve heard both great and awful reviews of it.
