TAGALOG CAPTIONS EXPLANATION OF FILIPINO JOE

Hello, Filipino Joe here. Welcome to the channel and first let me explain the name. When we arrived in the Philippines in Oct of 2023 I noticed that people and mostly the younger generation would randomly yell out and say “Hey Joe” and even from the first time I thought to myself wow what are the odds that the nickname the locals have for the foreign man would be my actual name. It's crazy to think about. It's a nickname because I’m white and they assume I’m American. So I started referring to myself as Filipino Joe because I’m not here to bring my American culture to the Philippines. I’m here to embrace Filipino culture because I truly believe it's a better and more happy way of life. You Filipinos are amazing. You’re happy and down to earth and friendly and in general a blessing to be around. I want to assimilate into your culture and celebrate every positive thing I can about this beautiful country. It is truly a fantastic place to be.
