One powerful line from Best Rapper. That whole song, like this one is one I feel. I can personally connect with those thoughts, the rage, fear, anger, conflicting thoughts, and deciding to come out on top.
This song may hit different, it's still about personal growth and acceptance of one's self. For me it's been hard to let go of self hate, or fall back into it.
He's brilliant for delivering so much music that can touch souls.
Tom has a personal relationship with God. He talks to him everyday. What he talks about is between him and God. I get it, I'm the same way. I don't need a church to have a relationship with God. Love this song. Tom always knows what I need to hear before I even know I need to hear it. ❤ #HOG4EVER

I always appreciate your reactions and I REALLY appreciate this much-needed Christmas Blessing. Tom gave the world such a beautiful, healing song and I have yet to see it NOT touch a reactor. I never heard of Tom MacDonald until 4 months ago & now, I'm addicted - and he said that was a good thing. That was the night before STRONGER VERSION was dropped and now I feel as though Tom has taken another leap in his artistic ability. Plus, Nova kills it and they seem to complement each other well, just like an old couple.

Seeing as we are human we go through life having to deal with the "light" and the "dark" in many different forms. Here his reference being sober and being wasted and living most of his life in between (sober = light and wasted = dark) which as he said in his song My Fans, he just wants to be the lantern to help guide us along the way. Acknowledging our weaknesses and trying to overcome what is keeping us down is the first and most important step to begin the healing towards acceptance that our life paths are scattered everywhere with temptations but being stronger helps us deal a bit better with them. I discovered his music at a time that I needed it so much and am eternally grateful that he made it through those dark days to be with us today. Far from perfect but that's ok because that's what makes him relatable and this song is needed to bring motivation and inspiration for this time of year. It is our Christmas gift and one I will surely be listening and dancing to in between the Christmas carols 🎄💪🏽🙏🏽✌🏽🤙🏽♥🌻 Merry Christmas to you both and good luck with your move. #HOG4EVER

Good luck, Brian. Moving cross country can be daunting but also freeing. When I was 23, I packed up as much as I could fit in my Sedan and left everything I knew in Seattle and headed off to my cousin's house in Houston for a few weeks until I found a place. Within a year, I got a job that moved me to Boise (which is amazing btw) and 5 years later to PA.
After 4 years there, I wanted to move back to Texas and be closer to family. And luckily my sister had just moved to DFW so my dad flew in from Costa Rica and accompanied me on the journey, where we overnighted in Knoxville, Nashville and Little Rock. Which I'll forever be grateful of that time we spent together.
The next time I saw him was 9 months later when he visited Texas to see his first granddaughter, sick as a dog with what we soon found out was stage 4 brain lung and stomach cancer destroying his body. It was a blessing to be able to be able to find him hospice care and be there for him until he passed 5 weeks later, with his kids, on US soil, just like he wanted.
Safe travels my guy, and I hope you find peace in TN. Ha maybe Church'll invite you out to Ghost Ranch soon.

Addiction is hard to understand for people that have never been addicted. I first was addicted to cigarettes, and what a dumb thing to get addicted to. Nobody ever has had their first smoke and said "this is terrific". I had to work at it. I smoked for 30 years, quit on and off, but haven't had any tobacco for 2 years, coming the new Year. Hope you all have a merry xmas, and a great new year.

I watch a lot of reaction channels and more than one have said they can see Tom becoming a Pastor someday, after watching “Fighter.” Don’t know if y’all have reacted to that song yet.
