Besides having trouble with the plastic animal bowls from possibly Asia at Dollar stores (PVA/PBA) Animals should not eat out of any plastic dishes because it also causes painful acne on dogs and cats as well. It happened to mine and when I tell others a lot say oh is that what those black dots are on my cat! Remember acne on animals can develop into something serious. 😿💝🥰
Thanks, Susan, for pointing that out. I use both stainless steel and glass bowls for my cats, past and present. Both are easy to find while thrifting. I've found some very nice ones. I had read about the effects of plastic years ago.
Agree. Avoid plastic bowls.
I use ceramic and glass. Never used plastic and have replaced almost all plastic with glass.
Chatty are the best. Really enjoyed this. Sometimes
The smaller emery boards are easier to use on toe
Nails. The kittens are so sweet. Wind chimes are lovely
Fun stuff! I used to have a bamboo wind chime, and loved it. I don't know if my neighbors did.😂 I think you can get washable muslin makeup wipes on etsy. You just need makeup remover. Better for your skin and the environment. I get why you got the disposables, though. Just fyi, it's advisable to use 1oz., or a shotglass full, of sunscreen, just for your body. And, enough to fill the bottom of the shotglass for your face. 😊
Thing that you probably didn't know. Plastic is not good for your cats because it makes irritation and acne in their chin. Metal can do the same. It's better to use glass or ceramic bowls.

The travel pots from Pound land are fab.
I've been using them for years rather than lugging massive bottles of toiletries away and are great with the clear toiletry bags they sometimes have because I always travel with that in my carry-on bag.
If my case ever goes missing at least I'll be clean and fresh.
As soon as Pumpkin appeared my cat was obsessed and couldn't take her eyes off her! So funny!

Hello Mr Carrington - your videos are like a chat with a best friend! Just wanted to share a bit of info re cats in case you were unaware. Cats prefer to drink water that is not near their food or litter tray. Also have you considered using a cat fountain? They are low energy use, and really help ensure your feline loved ones are fully hydrated. Hope Mittens and Pumpkin and your good self of course, are enjoying a lovely weekend :)

Just be careful using plastic bowls for the cats as they can cause cat acne (I know I didn't know myself that was a thing until my cat had it)😅
Same here! I’d never seen it before but my cats definitely had large blackheads on their chins. The vet is the one that told me about plastics causing them.

Mr. Carrington be careful with plastic dishes for pets. Coming from Poundland they were probably made in China and most likely have PBA in them. My brothers’s cat and dog both got very sick eating out of plastic bowls. They were sold by a famous American dog trainer, The Dog Whisperer Cesar Milan. So even with a reputable name, they still poisoned their pets. It is suggested ceramic or stainless steel fishes for animals.😊🐱🐶

100% agree. It causes cat acne too. Keep away from plastic food / water bowls keep to ceramic or metal. Also have them slightly raised to prevent vomiting. 😊👍
One of my cats (Spice) is allergic to plastic, the vet recommended stainless steel or ceramic bowls. Once changed his allergy disappeared. Even the water fountain is plastic free.
We used only ceramic & stainless steall bowls for our pets. First it was a good stainless steal set from a special pet store. Then dog took a dislike to the taste of water & food from stainless stell bowls, so we gave him a porcelain bowl, and it worked perfect! It was a fancy set of porcelain plates/bowls for fine dining, which we inherited from one nice old lady (may her soul rest in peace), with handpainted blue flowers. We used them ourselves and gave two to the dog as well. Obviously, even dog food tastes better from nice porcelain!

We were in Britain from Canada a few weeks ago and I really enjoyed checking out Poundland. Canada’s answer to it is Dollarama where there are also good deals to be had. If you ever visit Canada, you will want to check them out.

Good Morning Iwan. The shelf is useful to put at the bottom of your wardrobe to put shoes on top and underneath. Love seeing the kittens. You and Catherine at Chelsea flower show was so funny 😂. Have a great week and don’t work to hard 😊❤
OMG Mr. C! Poundland haul - will visit the UK (from Turkey) in August have upped my return luggage allowance to total 50 kilos! Come on thrift haul and Poundland and LIDL and all!
Don't always take it that the price they have on the shelf is the price you're going to be charged I went to the Poundland in Brighton London Road a few days ago small fruit cake was up for one pound we got to the tail one £1.50 Weetabix that was clearly marked up on the shelf as two pounds we got to the till it was four pounds and many items the same when you buy quite a lot of things like I did you have to watch it go to the South surface till that way you can leave the stuff behind that is marked up differently to what is on the shelf
The Emery boards maybe different sizes for storage or for different grit....lower number grit the more course. Glass nail files are a amazing and gentle for your nails ...but use slowly as filling with one is quite fast,have cloth on hand to wipe nail dust onto.....don't forget the cuticle cream. 🇮🇪🤗
You could always use sticky back plastic on your worktops as a tide over till you renew said kitchen fab haul btw take care x

The extending shelf I find is a good idea to put in your dining table for a buffet /bbq. You know for sauces /pickles etc

Ikea worktops (or countertops as we call them in the US) can be quite inexpensive from IKEA. Even if you only used them for a few years, you could possibly resell them and get part of the expense back when you’re ready for a full kitchen remodel. I love your hauls and I love fabuloso but haven’t seen the washing machine cleaner in the US yet. I put a very small amount of Fabuloso in the water when I steam clean my floors and it makes the whole house smell wonderful!

I use salt to clean my washing machine, I put it in the draw & in the drum, & put on a fast wash cycle, some people don't know how to take the draw out to wash
Manicure files with packs of different sizes are for convenience. Smaller files to carry with you for an emergency if nail breaks.
Mirrors in any garden are great! You could use these on you balcony garden, they give depth! 👍👍👍👍

I have those shelves in all my food and china cupboards. My pan cupboard was a mess. Saw the black expanding shelf in Poundland and it has transformed my life! Every pan is now easy access.
Different sized emery boards are useful Smaller ones for toes. Also different sizes fit better into toilet bags and cosmetic bags.

32 nail files should last you until retirement! The smaller ones work well on toenails, and are just the right size for fitting into a pocket (or handbag) because it's handy to have one when you're out and about in case you snag or break a nail. I've seen the very long ones being used by manicurists, who wave them about with abandon--as a beginner, you're probably safer with the shorter ones! ;-)
Love your haul, Each month i clean my w/ machine, put the machine on 90o wash for about 2.5 hrs ptogramme. I dont put anything in drum. Ive had w/ machines last 18 yrs!!.

Those little screw top containers are ideal if you are going away and need your daily meds! Tablet dispensers are too big for packing and they open up. 👍👍👍👍

Hi Iwan, great haul. Pumpkin is adorable, so interested in everything you are showing. Love the round mirrors. So versatile for a vase of flowers or to place chocolates on top or glasses of bubbly. Telescopic shelf great idea. Thinking of your kitchen top, maybe look out for two or three large bamboo chopping boards to place on top of your surface, they dont seem too expensive. Great for your coffee mugs or wine glasses. That way you can you can decide if you want to replace the top or overhaul all the space another time. Have a great week. Loved the haul today I was In Poundland the other day and bought those wind chimes ……wondering if I could use the telescopic stand on the balcony for plants ….love the mirrors ps. I did make a list as I get a bit bamboozled in Poundland xx
If you buy a glass emery board and wash it occasionally, so long as you don't drop it, you'll never need another.

I really enjoyed this hall. If you were going to wait a few years before you replaced your countertops and they are porous, I would suggest using the brand Mr. clean eraser sponges. They make them for bathrooms and also they have an original sponge that will erase things off of countertops that are already porous. I would not use them on new countertops unless they are a ceramic tile but I can guarantee you that you’re porous countertop will look brand new because I have use them on older countertops I have an apartment that my daughter rented for a while. Takes all the stains off with ease and they will look brand new. We also have the sponges with the abrasive material around them made by a company called Dobie. They are great for things that are stuck onto your dishes or pots and pans that you cook something in that stuck to it. Love the little box with the items in it for kittens and dogs. It would make a great gift for friends that own pets. My favorite thing you bought is the bamboo chime. I’ve always love them and the sound that they make. I finally found my new living room furniture. Well, my hubby found it on his way home from work when he stopped by a furniture store called rooms to go. I am totally in love with it and it has lightened up my living room so much, which is what I wanted. Everything looks much lighter and brighter now that I’ve gotten rid of the black leather furniture. If I were you I would buy a few more of those brushes for the kittens as they seem to really love them. I love your idea of the mirrors being on a table with candles on top of them. I think they would be beautiful at Christmas time or if you were doing a dinner party and inviting friends over. I also love the little jars you got with the safety inserts so that things like lotions and sunscreen would not seep out. Great for traveling! I hope you have a wonderful week. have you thought about fablin for worktops, as a small change, before the big kitchen revamp
we did it to our drab worktops with a black fablon and really changes the look of our small kitchen, which is about the size of yours.

Iwan, I am surprised that you havent done a Hermione hack with your worktops, she did it when she moved into the London flat.
There was an article in a local newspaper yesterday about the founder of Poundland. He had a £50K loan from his dad to set up and then sold the business for £200M in 2006 and the business is now worth £5B. Not bad for a chap that started on a market stall in Bilston.
I live near 2 Poundlands, one is quite small and the other is quite big with a seperste Pep&Co clothing shop in the same mall.

Hi Mr C, re the best for filing your nails, i found the emery boards have a lot of fall out sandpaper which can damage nails (keep it for DIY 😉) use a glass nail file. Lasts forever and ver smoothe.

Re natural nails - use a nail buffer it stimulates nails and gives them a lovely shine, your hands and nails are looking really good. Have to echo other comments on here re plastic bowls for pets. Best to use ceramic or stainless steel, one of my cats developed painful chin acne from using plastc bowls before inknew better😢his jaw was all distorted resolved with changing feeding bowls. Lovely vlog as usual ❤
