So if the WNBA does not make money who is going to pay for the bigger salaries?

Women's sports do not need more coverage; at best they need more advertisement. Anyone who wants to watch women's sports has numerous options to watch. One can watch women's softball. ESPN played many women's softball games, including much, if not all of the Women's College World Series, this year and has been doing so for many years. For years now ESPN has played, many if not all, of the Women's NCAA Basketball/March Madness Tournament. ESPN plays numerous women's Soccer and Lacrosse games. WNBA games can be view on NBATV and ESPN. The WNBA All-Star game is usually played on ABC. ABC also aired a number of women's college basketball this year. Finally, the Women's Soccer World Cup is usually aired on Fox channels.
So, women's sports are getting coverage. One problem is that there is very little advertisement to go along with women's sports. It was once reported that advertisement for the Men's Soccer World Cup started a month before the tournament. For the Women's Soccer World Cup there was far less advertisement. The WNBA is promoted far less than the NBA. It is hard to watch women's sports if you do not know they are on TV. So, women's sports need more advertisement.

its not about putting womens games on TV, its about GETTING PEOPLE TO WATCH IT!!

When the games are televised, they pull large viewership numbers.
You simply cannot get more people to watch when the games aren't accessible.

WNBA tv ratings are minuscule compared to NBA telecasts

There would be coverage if there was interest: if you don't look for infos on women's sports, if you don't act like a fan base, purchasing subscriptions, matches tickets, merchandising, follow them on social medias, how do you want to get more coverage? Coverage is done to make money, and there is little interest in women's sports. As long as you don't support it with your viewing...

There is a vast amount of interest in women's sports, but say you are right....(You're not)
The NHL and MLS have very little interest and lose hundreds of millions, and they still get more coverage, even though they have less interest than the WNBA, NCAAWBB, SB, and Volleyball.

@@gunselshaly537 the NHL loses money probably because t.of the high salaries. And operating costs.
The WNBA has been subsided for decades, never produced profit. Ever.
If you call MLS, with a 25000 average attendance low interest, how do you call the WNBA, then, With less than 3000 average attendance for most teams?

@@gunselshaly537 Look it up. NHL has far more attendance than the WNBA. Compare apples to apples. The NBA vs WNBA. NBA averages about 18000 while the WNBA is less than 7000. Viewership for the whole WNBA season in 2018 was 231000 while the Finals!!! for the 2019 NBA Title was 15.14 million. Women are not even supporting or watching the WNBA.
