I agree. It's beautiful and inspirational. How can some of those rubbish ditties and the shouty rock win over? This should have won - don't care what year!
Indeed! Hollywood doesn't like stories like this. Regardless how incredible it is (this one went beyond Incredible). Preferring instead to vote for CGI loaded films, or cotton candy. They claim to be open minded, in fact, those who vote for the movies will never vote for a movie that makes anyone "uncomfortable".
Sign of the times, Sar Rhodes! Our world has turned ugly. Never in my 56 years have I seen such open cruelty and hate in our Country. Utopia we are not, but c'mon!
I am living proof l am disabled woman with cerebral palsy since my birth born handicap I am living proof... that all things are possible in the name of my God my Lord Jesus Christ, most people with my disability cerebral palsy don't live past the age of 30,but I am living poof cause at this writing, Tuesday morning 8/15/17 I am 62 years old and living proof that everything in this life happens for a reason, l am alive and living my best life possible...
I could not leave the theater at the end of the movie when this song came on. The lyrics took me all the way back through the whole movie. Mary J's voice reached right in to my soul and touched me. I could feel everything that happened to the characters. Such a sad time and how people were treated. It was just awful. I just wanted to take their pain away. :(
Seriously? It’s still happening, just modernize in ways the WS KKK RACIST PEOPLE TREAT POC AND OTHER ETHNIC PEOPLE TREAT POC. But, GOD He will punish them.

Carla Linton. My Black Hip Hop Soul Sista Mary J Blige sure do have a voice. And she is so pretty and real. You're absolutely right about that 100%. Macy Charmin.
I love how Aibileen empowered the little girl saying you is smart, you is kind, you is important when her own mother rejected her, She was the child real mother not matter the skin color. I have an adopted little boy (he is 1) and everyday I say it to him!
+saraleinemovies Everyone needs somebody like that in their lives, even if their parents won't provide it. I'm glad to hear your son is being raise by someone who truly care for them. Love is what makes a parent, not genetics. I wish more adopted children wouldn't feel objected because their biological parents didn't want them or couldn't keep them for whatever reason. That doesn't mean that they were rejected; it means their true (adoptive) parents very much wanted them in their lives. Everyone deserves to feel wanted, and I'm glad your son has someone like that in his life. :)

Every time I hear this song my eyes fill with tears... The book and the movie are so special for to me, both great. Mary J. Blige did a extraordinary work here.
This song brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. The lyrics are amazing, beautiful, important to me. Recovering from a harsh addiction, that wasn’t easy. I fell down as many times as I got up. Every time that I heard about someone passing away, it hurt me so bad. The people I knew who were addicted as well as myself, became family to me. The overdose is/ was overwhelming. The part in the song that says, SO MANY DON’T SURVIVE THEY JUST DON’T MAKE IT THROUGH, is what brought the tears down. I couldn’t breathe that’s how much pain I felt. For those that don’t believe in God, I wouldn’t be here testifying if there wasn’t a God!!!! I’M THE LIVING PROOF.. GLORY BE TO YAHWEH FOR ALL HE HAS DONE FOR ME!! FATHER THANK YOU FOR KEEPING ME!!! REST IN PEACE AND MY CONDOLENCES 💐 TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO STRUGGLED TO OVERCOME SUCH A DEADLY DISEASE!!!
mashell stewart. You are a survivor. You are strong. I pray for you. yes, it is a touching song. Everyday is a new day! We can't do it without The living Creator. He will give you strength. Bless you!
This is a song 🎵 and a movie that everyone should look at and listen to as often as you can, and that is when you begin to realize that every where you go and All that you do take the Lord with you because of the Lord in your life and being by your side, that's how you can Stand up and say that, I am
Anything you say to me And everything you do You can’t deny the truth Cos I’m the living proof So many don’t survive They just don’t make it through But look at me, I’m the living proof
This song rips my heart to pieces as a child who was on the street at 13 after being kicked out for being gay living under a bridge then a park . I went to university then a tech college this song brings me hope . For those who are down trauded, if the lord can be there for me he will be there for them bless this movie is my favorite of all time . Brava Bravo to all those who had the courage to make it and Bless those who had to live in this nightmare 🙏 🙌 ❤️ 😢❤❤ Wess from Canada
I've been molested at the age of 5 yrs old & raped at the age of 13 yrs & then disowned at the age of 18 when I married a black man. then in 5.26.1994 my only child was murdered. so this song means a whole to ME. thank you JESUS
This is an amazing song! My son was in the hospital for 50 days recently fighting to live through RSV. It almost took him out several times. I listened to this song over and over during his battle to live. It is as though it was written to tell his story so when we got home, I made a DVD presentation documenting his journey to survive. He literally had to learn to breath again and with the help of a trach tube and ventilator, he is still alive and spreading inspiration to everyone he meets!
I am Thai (Asian) and my colour is brown. When I was a child, I was bullied and teased by friends and they called me "Ai Dum" which means "blacky" or something that's bad for them and they didn't like it. But not as bad as in the movie. I was so pleased and sadistic to see the white girl eating a shit pie becoz I was so into the movie and full of hatred to see those girls did such shameful things to those black women. That was just happened while watching the movie. Racism should be wiped out from this world... Love the movie so much and it's so emotional..
Gavy Jay Amornsirithada The movie truly makes you laugh and cry....although this was a movie, the truth is this was the reality for the "help" in those days! And racism hasn't went anywhere, it's still breeding out of control hatred! Take care my friend!
"I know where i'm going coz I know where I have been" so anything you said to me and every thing you do... is what exactly i will need to do when i get my chance.. ..
Amazing song amazing movie. So heartbreaking to see such hatred and disrespect back then and though it isnt the exact same now ,it's still happening and it's still heartbreaking . We are all created beautifully equal . Heavenly Father, may you help us love and cherish others like you love and cherish us. Help us to overcome , transform our hearts ,renew us , in Jesus name .
This song is on my bucket list for my passing one day it gives me strength like no other especially the storms you go through in this life but listening to this and watching the movie gives hope no matter what. I love Mary J Bligh this is an amazing song for all
I’m here after seeing the Help on Netflix...I saw it years ago, and the memories are so Beautiful. All the things happening in this world is so sad that nothing has changed. So much anger and frustration!!! I’m not upset with the riots. The riots are years of pain and bondage! I hope it continues! I hope the freedom of expressing it is enough will continue until the world wake up! Black people do matter👊🏾
My mom was diagnosed with M.S. before I was born and has been wheelchair bound since I was only a few months old. Through the 27 years of my life there has always been round the clock caregivers in our house to help care for her. I am PROUD to say that all of these beautiful women who have loved to make a difference in a person's life have always been thought of and treated just like members of the family! Just as it always SHOULD have been!
"The Living Proof" It's gonna be a long long journey It's gonna be an uphill climb It's gonna be a tough fight There's gonna be some lonely nights But I'm ready to carry on I’m so glad the worst is over (cos it almost took me out) I can start living now ooh ooh I feel like I can do anything And finally I'm not afraid to breathe [CHORUS] Anything you say to me And everything you do You can’t deny the truth Cos I’m the living proof So many don’t survive They just don’t make it through But look at me oh ho I’m the living proof - oh yes I am Thinking 'bout how life's been painful Took a while to learn how to smile So now I’m gonna talk to my people oh oh About the storm [2x] wo ooh So glad the worst is over I can start flying now oh ho My best days are right in front of me Yet I’m almost there Cos now I’m free oh [CHORUS] Anything you say to me And everything you do You can’t deny the truth Cos I’m the living proof So many don’t survive They just don’t make it through But look at me, I’m the living proof [BRIDGE] I know where I’m going Cos I know where I’ve been oh oh I kind of feel strong as I’m gonna stay strong keep going That’s the way that I’ll win [CHORUS] Anything you say to me And everything you do (everything you do) You can’t deny the truth Cos I'm the living proof So many don’t survive They just don’t make it through But look at me, I’m the living proof Nothing ‘bout my life’s been easy But nothing’s gonna keep me down no Cos I know a lot more today And I know yesterday So I’m ready to carry on
Thank you Mary❤ This song continues to resonate with me. I am a abuse survivor of twenty eight years..I'm also was delivered by God from a twenty years addiction . Thank you for sharing your gift and your truth. You are the living proof. Anyone who is reading this ....We made it through and we are the living proof.
I love this song Mary. J has,an outstanding voice. This song is simply amazing helps bring home the point of the movie that the struggle continues but stay strong you can make it out victoriously.
Im a survivor of emotional, verbal, physical, and sexual abuse not just within my family but also my peers! And everytime i hear this song it brings me to tears knowing that i am the living proof of everything they put me through! But i was able to overcome everything and move forward and become free! And i know the truth shall set you free people may not hearing the truth but there comes a time they need to.
I’m living proof that you can love someone and not love yourself!!!! Sometimes we hold on to things that’s not good for us!!! Sometimes being alone truly shows LIVING PROOF OF WHAT GOD CAN DO FOR YOU❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The Movie "The Help" Lead me Here.,, such a wonderful Story.,, It is so Amazing.,,, It open my mind, my perspective about Black People.,, Deep Respect for them,,, :D
I am fighting for justice in a big way. in Canada ..This song empowers me. It is still unbelievable what humanity does to each other..Still cannot believe there is racism over melanin and the pigmentation of skin. There are other injustices as equally as painful. Its about standing up for what is right and true before our God. We were all made in his image.
I'm so glad i wasn't living back then, watching this movie made me so angry seeing my beautiful black sistas slave for whitefolk that's why i love Mary so much she has that soul of a black woman its like Harriet Tubman Mary Bethune all the strong black women back then are still here in Mary's voice
May I tell you another story? This was not every black woman's story. Not Pauline's, not Bertha's, not Lena's. They worked for my family at different times from the time I was born until I got in high school. Texas, not Mississippi. They took care of us 3 kids and our house because my Mother worked outside the home. They were our family and we loved them all. I am white but I was raised by black women. That bathroom thing was insane, never even heard of it. I feel I am who I am because of them. Making assumptions because of race is something we need to be careful of. We were not rich. And none of these three ladies ever felt unloved in our home or abused. One time Pauline's boyfriend got drunk and came over while she was at work and was angry with her over something, my Dad got between them and told him he better get out and leave her alone. He knew my Dad meant business. My Dad drove her home that evening and wouldn't let her ride the bus fearing he might be at the other end of the bus ride. I still remember them in my prayers and thank them for bringing me up the right way. But I know the other side believe me because I was born in 1952. I remember the fear and I remember the segregation. This movie made me cry so much because it was like I lost 3 mothers when we had to move on. May you have a beautiful life full of love and learning and sometimes we are suprised at where and how we learn some of our greatest lessons.
Exactly! My 2 year old son, in response to a very ugly comment his Uncle made, asked "why do you think of that family different? We are all the same on the inside." Yes, word for word, that is what my boy said; his Uncle felt about as small as a snail. Sadly his Uncle considered him "weird" after that. Not because of the comment, but because he took my son to the store told him to pick out what ever candy he wanted. Son chose one piece of Bubble gum. Uncle tried to get him to get more. Son said "no thank you" Regardless He'll be 30 in January. He never has tolerated Haters of any type. He was his own person, didn't care if he was an "alpha". He had friends across the Social Spectrum. For THAT he was well liked and respected by most of his classmates and all of his teachers. In fact, his Senior year, a kid that spat at him once so he'd leave, apologized "for being a [Large male sex organ named Richard]. [he] learned too late just how funny and cool you really are." Son said thank you, and moved on. He is now a successful Medical Software Engineer living the life of his dreams!
This is my Favourite movie !!!!! The first time I watched it was in 2013 when my class at school had to do an essay on it and ever since then I've always loved and watched it !!!!!
I have watched this movie too many times to mention. But recently coming out of a two year emotional abusive relationship, I feel as though this song was written especially for me. I have it on repeat all day, everday to help me get by. Thank you so much! You will never know how much it means to me.
She speaks the truth. I've looked up to her since I was a little girl. I love her songs and her messages. She is a beautiful, talented woman and she inspired me to be the singer I am today. MARY J. BLIGE IS MY FAVORITE SINGER EVER.
This song moved me from the very first time I heard it in the movie theatre. I thought a nomination was a sure thing. It certainly deserved it. It was also an appropriate song choice for the Hurricane Sandy benefit concert. Great job, MJB!

You're wrong. Meryl Streep won that year for "The Iron Lady". Viola didn't win...
It was Octavia Spencer that won for best supporting actress. And yes, this song most definitely should have been nominated. Phenomenal movie.

Bless you!
Mines to.🙌
This is a song 🎵 and a movie that everyone should look at and listen to as often as you can, and that is when you begin to realize that every where you go and All that you do take the Lord with you because of the Lord in your life and being by your side, that's how you can Stand up and say that, I am
IAM THE LIVING PROOF.....
Anything you say to me
And everything you do
You can’t deny the truth
Cos I’m the living proof
So many don’t survive
They just don’t make it through
But look at me, I’m the living proof
This song rips my heart to pieces as a child who was on the street at 13 after being kicked out for being gay living under a bridge then a park . I went to university then a tech college this song brings me hope . For those who are down trauded, if the lord can be there for me he will be there for them bless this movie is my favorite of all time . Brava Bravo to all those who had the courage to make it and Bless those who had to live in this nightmare 🙏 🙌 ❤️ 😢❤❤ Wess from Canada
this song is breath taking...every time I listen to it reminds me of the tough times I have been through and how I pulled through...
same 😢..
I know I lived this and I cry because we survive to this day the same thing
Carla Linton. Spencer Gray. I'm gonna keep your son in my prayers that God will bring him through.

I won’t lie...this song got me through some rough times 💙
I love Mary J Bligh this is an amazing song for all
This why she has the title of the Queen of HIP HOP SOUL. The the passion. that Ms Biigh, when she is singing, is so powerful
This shouldve won an Oscar. Mary never really gets what she deserves.
Tellement vrai

I don't understand it breaks my heart too....to deep caries deep meaning
Such a powerful song
I’m here after seeing the Help on Netflix...I saw it years ago, and the memories are so Beautiful. All the things happening in this world is so sad that nothing has changed. So much anger and frustration!!! I’m not upset with the riots. The riots are years of pain and bondage! I hope it continues! I hope the freedom of expressing it is enough will continue until the world wake up! Black people do matter👊🏾
from netflix also 😊
Riots dont solve anything. Destruction doesnt solve anything. Stand up and be productive citizens and that will get you noticed
:)
This makes me happy. God bless your family :-)
+Lily Muoki Thank you! God bless you as well :-)
This journey called Life can be hard sometimes, but songs like this can really help you get thru!
With Gods love, grace & mercy we will get through!! 💜❤💙
Carla Linton. Henry Coins I agree with you 100%.
"The Living Proof"
It's gonna be a long long journey
It's gonna be an uphill climb
It's gonna be a tough fight
There's gonna be some lonely nights
But I'm ready to carry on
I’m so glad the worst is over (cos it almost took me out)
I can start living now ooh ooh
I feel like I can do anything
And finally I'm not afraid to breathe
[CHORUS]
Anything you say to me
And everything you do
You can’t deny the truth
Cos I’m the living proof
So many don’t survive
They just don’t make it through
But look at me oh ho
I’m the living proof - oh yes I am
Thinking 'bout how life's been painful
Took a while to learn how to smile
So now I’m gonna talk to my people oh oh
About the storm [2x] wo ooh
So glad the worst is over
I can start flying now oh ho
My best days are right in front of me
Yet I’m almost there
Cos now I’m free oh
[CHORUS]
Anything you say to me
And everything you do
You can’t deny the truth
Cos I’m the living proof
So many don’t survive
They just don’t make it through
But look at me, I’m the living proof
[BRIDGE]
I know where I’m going
Cos I know where I’ve been oh oh
I kind of feel strong as
I’m gonna stay strong keep going
That’s the way that I’ll win
[CHORUS]
Anything you say to me
And everything you do (everything you do)
You can’t deny the truth
Cos I'm the living proof
So many don’t survive
They just don’t make it through
But look at me, I’m the living proof
Nothing ‘bout my life’s been easy
But nothing’s gonna keep me down no
Cos I know a lot more today
And I know yesterday
So I’m ready to carry on
nahnuhhuh gracias 😃
Thank you

Living proof is the one thing I always will watch and remember my aunt died died
I see no color we. Are y'all the same God bless you

I have it on repeat all day, everday to help me get by. Thank you so much! You will never know how much it means to me.
