Papeda is not supposed to be eaten as is. You need to dip it into soup.

Maluku people use sagu or some kind like tapioka bcoz their change the rice with that, its look like weird but that the unique of Maluku food, use the sagu or tapioka for dish not rice....i like that food so much especially with kuah ikan, The flavor mixed together... perfect

A bit frustrating to see colo2 to be a sauce... colo colo means celup.. so the fish needs to be dipped on the colo2... but for a Maluku guys... its very good

Papeda you eat without silverware, you slurp it up. You pour the sauce over the papeda, if you eat it separately it's too sticky and dry. Also how did you make the papeda? Originally we make papeda (the goo stuff) from the local sagu tree, ground up and hot water. But in the west migrated Moluccan people use a potato starch substitute because sagu is only local to Maluku.
