Rob & Karen, you guys are finally getting the recognition you deserve in viewership and views. You guys are kicking butt and taking numbers. Just shows, we do love our neighbors to the North. I couldn’t be any happier for you both!
My mom has that sterling “roses” pattern. Every “occasion” like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, we set the table and use it! It’s always hand-washed after and put lovingly back in the velvet-lined wooden box. So awesome that you were able to score with your set!
when I was 61 years old and my Mom was 82 she offered me her sterling silver tableware. I looked at her crazy and said "Since when do you have sterling silver?" My parents married in 1947. She had full table settings for 6 plus some serving pieces. She also had her mothers (my grandmothers!) plated silver set for 6. Neither woman had EVER used either set! We ate off of Melmac dishes from the laundry soap box and ate off mis matched tableware from the dime store , we drank out of jelly jar glasses with the Flitnstones on it...LOL My Mother's explanation to me was she was saving the silver for "good"!!! Well, when is it "good"??? LOL

Congratulations on finding your silver!!! I have some myself that no one in the family wanted so I took them! It's a great feeling though when you go on a treasure hunt at garage sales and find things like this. It makes it all worth while!

I found a box of Gorham silver flatware for 19$ at a thrift shop. They were SO tarnished. Boiled some water, threw them into a foil lined baking dish, poured the hot water over the top and sprinkled baking soda over them. They cleaned up AMAZINGLY and are gorgeous!
I didn't know Calvin Klein had there own "truth" serum?! 😉😂 I don't know if it's your area, but a lot of people are judgmental with tattoos and piercings. I haven't seen that in your case. I think it's the personality that makes people look past that. You guys are so inviting and cool. From one tattooed, pierced gal to another. ❣️
Hi Rob and Karen. So thrilled that you found sterling at such a good price! You never can tell what treasures that you are going to find when you walk up to a house. It can be a simple house with amazing treasures or a palatial house with junk. (I find that when there is one piece of sterling that there is usually another piece somewhere in the house.) Loved seeing you all get excited about finding it.

Die-hard garage salers, selling/shopping in the rain. In my part of California the weather can not guarantee that we'll have acceptable conditions when planning on the date of the sale. But, it is what it is, gotta take our chances too!
