    ABOUT SPEAKER
Ajahn Achalo was born in Brisbane Australia in 1972, he developed a keen interest in meditation at the age of twenty, and at 21 he headed off to Thailand to study Buddhism more sincerely. Ajahn Achalo ordained at Wat Nong Pah Pong in Ubon Rachathani (the monastery founded by venerable Ajahn Chah) and subsequently trained in Thailand for more than ten years. His main teachers in Thailand have been Ajahn Anan and Ajahn Jayasaro. Ajahn Achalo feels deep gratitude for the wonderful opportunities he has had to practice as a monk in a number of different traditional contexts... in practice monasteries, in remote forests, and whilst on pilgrimage. Currently, Ajahn Achalo is the Abbot of Anandagiri Forest Monastery in Thailand.

The hairs standing up and crying is the second of the 5 raptures, called 'Pīti' and happens when faith arises. It happened to me in the year i ordained. And yes, it does come from previous lifetimes sometimes, especially if it happens the first time a person encounters the Buddha-Dhamma, The second rapture also can only ocur if first Jhana is present, and so, he who can induce rapture, instantly induces Jhana (Dhyāna) simultaneously, and has a purified mind on the first level of absorption. Since that, i alwayts get goosebumps and sometimes also tears when i hear dhamma or think of the Buddha. it is faith in the truth of his enlightenment, and the accuracy of the dhamma

There are thousands of examples of rebirth.
In many races around the world
    Buddhists believe in rebirth.

This is one of the best teachings ive heard in a long time for westerners to apply the practice. Excellent, Im sure i met Ajahn Achalo once at Wat Nong Pha Pong or maybe Wat Pha Nanachat. What an excellent and clear teaching of method, so close to how i understand the practise

Modern research on Near Death Experience by Raymond moody, reincarnation memories by Ian Stevenson/Jim trucker and past lives regression by Brian Weiss all independently but coincidentally show that our consciousness survive death, we live many lives and our thoughts and actions matter in the hereafter. This is in line with Buddhist teachings.
So be kind and helpful to others, be virtuous, meditate and cultivate ourselves to higher spiritual levels. Cheers.

If you search a translation from the Pali cannon to English, suttacentral.net/ is often cited as a tried and tested reference

I don't believe that belief in rebirth is skillful.
Firstly, it's not true, so is ultimately a harmful belief. Secondly, such a belief is bad for a person's motivation, since it is vitally important that a person becomes enlightened _here-and-now_, rather than believe they can put it off till a (non-existent) future life.
A person can believe in cause and effect and karma without belief in rebirth.

We are born and die every breath in and out but we don't see it. Why? because time is very very short and quick before we can see die and reborn here and now. If we want to see it we must stop and silent till our breathing is almost gone or stop breathing then we will see how it be to re born evry single breath. Why? During you breath in you will stop and breathing out. While you stop breathing you are die and start reborning when you start breathing out. Because of time is very short and quick and continuous the cycle of this process not enough to investigate that breathing. The only way we can see this process is MEDITATION to stop our breathing and stay in silent. This cycle is continuous till the body is too old and savage, then karma will lead you to find another body that available and consistent. That is called physical body rebirth. Every one can proof it by yourself to make it no doubt rather than listening. Do not say belief or not belief till you proof it yourself. Not just because there is no reason. There are so many thing that mankind cannot explian and will never been able to explian unless proof that doubt by yourself. That is very harmful that cause you to loose the chance forever.

There is no evidence that our mind or karma will take another body after we physically die. Since there is no evidence, nor any reason to think that it might be true, we should reject such useless speculation.

    • @ariyannarkprasert6246
      @ariyannarkprasert6246 7 років тому +2

This is only yourself to proof it. There is no one can do it for you. Your doubt cannot be eliminated without doing anything. If there is someone tell you that you walk on this way go to the big city that is a beautiful garden, beautiful people, beautiful environment and you turning away go the opposit way. Can you say that "there is no big city" can't you? Stop breathing and make your mind silent, you will find the answer yourself, eliminated your doubt. Can you stop breathing and stay alive??? This is the question you should ask rather than say "NO"

    • @KevinSolway

"This is only yourself to proof it."
Or disprove it. I have proven that it is speculation, and so it should definitely be discarded.

+Kevin Solway you don"t even know and understanding the speculation but try to tell everybody you are well understanding speculation. Feeling is always lie to you lie to everybody. Mind is no one can touch it, can you? If you get shot and say I want to know who shot me unless you won't go to see the doctor which you probably die before you will know who shot you, or you will go to see the doctor then find out who shot me? wise man? when you are hungry and you eat, who will be full? you or me? that is only you can proove it. no one can do it except you. you eat, you full. Not me.
