- Russian President Vladimir Putin has wrapped up his two-nation Asia tour, after securing agreements with North Korea and Vietnam. Despite no major breakthroughs during Mr Putin’s visit, Vietnam did manage to secure a commitment from Moscow to safeguard its interests in the disputed South China Sea. Tung Ngo has more.

More than 17,000 participants from 136 countries attended the St Petersburg economic forum 2024, including heads of state and government, ministers, government officials, ambassadors, and politicians from 45 countries. Furthermore the Russian President Vladimir Putin also participated in the forum’s plenary session.

Yes. china is the top trades of Vietnam and Philippines, but trades usually natural resources which china benefited the most, do you know that china investment in Vietnam and Philippines are the lowest among ASEAN. So, Vietnam know China well more than any other neighbors, we know our countries has similar communist system, but in term of national interst, China is our largest threat. Vietnam is not a threat to the west as it does not have any force projection. China on the other hand can definitely take the straight of Malaca and Taiwan to control the flow of strategic goods.
