राजकुमार थंबौर और अरावली के दो युद्धरत राज्यों के बारे में एक कहानी है। कहानी सत्ता, लालच, गरिमा और राज्य पर नियंत्रण के इर्द-गिर्द घूमती है। थंबौर के महामन्त्री (नसीरुद्दीन शाह) के थंबौर के शासक बनने और अरावली को हराने और उस पर शासन करने के लालच के कारण थंबौर के महाराज की हत्या हो जाती है। अरावली के महाराज को इसके लिए दोषी ठहराया गया और उन्हें मार दिया गया। राज्य तब कट्टर प्रतिद्वंद्वी बन जाते हैं। अरावली का राजकुमार (अनिल कपूर) जिसे क्रूर और चतुर महामन्त्री ने कैद कर लिया था, वह महामन्त्री के उत्पीड़न से अपने राज्य को वापस पाने के लिए एक दोस्त के साथ भाग जाता है। सौदेबाजी में राजकुमार को थंबौर की खूबसूरत राजकुमारी (माधुरी दीक्षित) से प्यार हो जाता है। क्या राजकुमार अरावली को पुनः प्राप्त करने और अपने पिता की मृत्यु का बदला लेने में सक्षम है? क्या वह रानी मां (रीना रॉय) को सम्मान और प्रतिष्ठा वापस दिला सकता है। क्या वह राजकुमारी का दिल जीतने में सफल है? क्या महामन्त्री सत्ता की अपनी प्यास बुझाने में कामयाब हैं? नाटक से भरपूर परी कथा एक्शन।

Rajkumar is a tale about the two warring kingdoms of Thambore and Araavali. The story revolves around power, greed, dignity and control over the kingdom.Thambore's mahamantri's (Naseeruddin Shah) greed to become the ruler of Thambore and defeat and rule Aaravali leads to the killing of the Maharaj of Thambore. Araavali's Maharaj is blamed and executed for the same. The kingdoms then become arch rivals. The Rajkumar of Aaravali (Anil Kapoor) who has been imprisoned by the cruel and shrewd Mahamantri escapes with a friend to reclaim his kingdom from the oppression of the Mahamantri. In the bargain the Rajkumar falls for the beautiful Rajkumari of Thambore (Madhuri Dixit). Is Rajkumar able to reclaim Aaravali and avenge his father's death? Can he bring back the honor and dignity to Rani ma (Reena Roy). Is he successful in winning Rajkumari's heart? Does the Mahamantri manage to quench his thirst for power? Fairy tale action packed with drama.
