I had a similar email like this nearly 3 weeks ago. They tried to intimidate me. But unlike with you, they didn't sent me my own password or showed me they had a picture or a video of me as proof. Jokes on them, I keep the lens of my laptop's camera covered when I'm not using it. They wanted me to pay 1200 in lite coin. I didn't click on any links or send them any money, and I'm not going to either. I just ignored and blocked the email, reset my devices, and changed my passwords for good measure just incase. Nothing happened since then. Those who send these extortion emails are lazy bums.
I laugh every time I receive one of these emails. Vague on purpose, and also I don't care if my pictures get sent to all my contacts. I do look up the bitcons addresses and most were empty but one I did see a transfer.
I got that one! Don't even have a webcam lol. And if that person really had seen the depths of my degenecy he'd be in a padded room playing with his own shit by now :D
I wasn’t scared because I’m young and haven’t ever touched a website like it, so I knew it was dumb right away. Thanks for reassuring me tho! Also I have none of the social media it says it had of mine lmao I have like 2, none of them being the ones said
I got one recently too. Funny thing: I have no webcam. My password was from 4 years ago. In the language I got the mail, it didn't have any grammar issues.
@@imyackerman6225Nothing gets leaked because they don't have anything. They're relying on you panicking. If they truly had hacked your devices as they claim they wouldn't be emailing you about it. Also don't panic about them knowing your email, passwords or even phone number they probably got it from a data breach. For safety just make sure you have 2 factor authentication turned on on your sccounts and use a mobile app such as Microsoft's or Google's authentication for it, oh and don't store password in your browser's password manager, use something like bitwarden instead.
So ok, your password was sold in a list of email addresses and passwords. They knew it because of one of exactly two things: its vulnerable to a simple dictionary attack or you use it on multiple sites. Stop doing that. Also, you should have (should still) look at the unencoded email message which will give you all of the mail host routing information and no just the simple spoofed email address. Many other mistakes with your analysis, but that's enough for now.
Im guessing Once your old password is expired it becomes sellable apparently. I think this is why they tell you never change back to a previous password. Cause all your old passwords are exposed , while your current ones remain Intact.
A message like this was sent to me about 2 weeks ago and I saw it today. After I saw the message, it said that I had 48 hours and that all the videos would be shared with my guide. I didn't notice it, but 1 day after I received this email, I received a warning message saying that my account had been accessed from Vietnam and Iran, meaning that my account had really been stolen. Since my account had really been stolen, I was worried that it might be real. Later, I saw the same message on Reddit, but I'm still worried. Do you think it could be real? Please respond as soon as possible.
This is exactly what happened to me just few minutes ago I will show you the only person that help me delete all my private pictures from the blackmailer account immediately
They used google map to look up your address and took a screenshot of your house. Nothing to worry about. But still be careful not to go into websites that are questionable.
You shouldn't have redacted the bitcoin address, with a bit of diligence and sloppy opsec on their part, you can track them Also how is gmail not filtering this? It's such a clear spoof, most people dont email themselves.
These really make me chuckle I get them and the password field is sometimes the hashed version of the password and occasionally it's the username instead of the password.
I don't have coworkers because I'm unemployed.
Got 'em!
i was having a heart attack, than i got to that part, and i’m also unemployed so yeah got em!
MoFo sent me this and Im Brazilian. How the fuck Am I suppose to read this😂😂

they probably make a wallet for small groups of targets so they can track who does/doesnt fall for it for further blackmailing

Or it’s found through database leaks that are then shared elsewhere on the Internet.

It’s a scam. I also get those emails saying that someone has suddenly logged into my account (most commonly from Russia). It’s a scare tactic email.
