It's an AMOLED thing. Not a "bad batch" or "rushed phone" as you can usually read on the internet. There is NO phone on the market that uses an AMOLED screen that doesn't have this issue. Your replacement may or may not be better. Even worse, you could get one that is not pink over the whole display so it would appear like a green/pink tint. The AMOLED tech is pretty shit aside from perfect blacks.
As one expert stated its a very young technology and will take time to establish. However at the same I never had no issues with my S7 Edge last year so why with the S8 this year. If they can't get the infinite display right then don't give us infinity problems.
Because you were "lucky" with your S7. Many people did indeed have a problem with pink tint on the S7. In fact, if you do a Google search for "Galaxy sX pink tint" you will see it has ALWAYS been an issue on every S phone. My Nexus 6P has very mild pink tint along the bottom of the screen. It's not bad but it's noticeable if you look for it. My Note 5 was similar as well. It's something you have to prepare to live with if you choose a phone with an AMOLED screen unless you keep exchanging devices until you get one that is good.
Damir M Sad state of affairs honestly.
It's been a problem for years. They just never did anything about it until now. My S5 had uneven colour through the screen. 2 S6's had a pink or green hue. S7 wasn't too bad. Nexus 6p had it which I believe used a Samsung screens. It's a hardware issue for sure.
Well my S7 Edge was absolutely fine & so was the S6 Edge from before. I always heard or seen people having issues with AMOLED screens but never had to face it myself. First time it's to happen to me & I am determined to get it fixed or replaced. Let's see. Hopefully will be visiting Samsung store today.
I'm not sure what I should do. To someone at the Samsung store my screen will probably look ok. It's not until you get inside under normal light at home or at work it's noticeable and you start using it. Noticeable enough to annoy me lol. Just don't know if I can be bothered really. Mine has a slight green to pink fade. Only just but it stands out to me on whites and greys.
mwboost Watch my latest video and how Samsung treated me 👉 ua-cam.com/video/UMdZsx21UAg/v-deo.html
Don't know what to say as they are not equipped & trained to deal with it.
I have had my Galaxy S8 for about 4 years now and always got that pink hue in my pictures. It's annoying but it does take heat pictures.
Samsung should be careful about that...
Yep. Let's see how they treat me today in the remote session
Just about impossible to see from that camera. It's okay though.
GhaV jGRite (jeaHAvee) Yeah but definitely more visible in real.
Maybe Samsung rushed it again? These problems keep happening and there must be a reason. Thankfully not a safety issue so no panic like with the dodgy batteries. The testing sites seem to think it may effect up to 50% of their phones! Interesting to see if the software solution is just Samsung dialling down the red, as many users probably don't even know about that system setting. It may save them billions on a recall if it is as expected hardware quality issues. The price of success are these problems, but Samsung have proved that they will sort out so consumers will not lose out.
mine the same got to take it back for new one
andyH_England Quality control department is definitely not having a good time. You are absolutely right. It's definitely not as dangerous or threatening as the Note 7 battery exploding fiasco. Let's hope they sort it out. My remote session has been booked with Sammy tomorrow. Will let you guys know the outcome of the session. Stay tuned
Ohh shit, congrats. you got 10K!!! 😀😀😀
Ohhh shit yes hahah 🤣🤣. Thanks to you guys i got my shit together 🤣🤣🤣
J TheAndroidFreak one day bro. One day... i'll be here saying the same thing just with one more 0. 😀👍👍👍👍
CatchinX Bodiez hahaha you are funny. Nice to see you around 👍😊
Samsung had the same problem with S6 edge. No replacements.
Томек Back in the days of S6 it wasn't as bad for Samsung as it's now specially after the Note 7 battery exploding fiasco. Satisfying a customer should be even more important as that's how OEMs go down. History is full of such examples.
becareful, my phone was perfect and once i installed that new tint issue update it made my phone worst. because right after the install i started to get the pink hue. so i had to exchange the phone.
Ssix All this mess honestly is so disturbing. Visiting Samsung store soon to get to the bottom of this.
am not sure where u from but in the states they give u a 14 day to exchange it no questions asked.
Ssix 28 days cooling off period here in the UK mate from what I read in our terms and conditions. Visiting now. Will update on my social media in Vlogs. Links under description. Chat soon 👍🤣
I knew if I smelled Curry I would get screwed it doesn't work
so what happened with Samsung. did they fix the problem remotely
They couldn't verify my address over the phone despite me getting the phone directly from Samsung UK. I am popping into Samsung store on Monday to see what they can do. Follow me on social media (Links under description) for all the updates.
I'm getting this problem now!!
Unfortunately Samsung wasn't that keen on solving the issue.
Nothing wrong with my s8....
Everton ETID I think it's not with all the units.

I don´t see it
thematrixx81 Camera wasn't able to show it properly I guess but it's definitely visible.
yeah it´s pretty hard to catch things on camera the way you see it.
However this is not close as bad as my HTC 10´s display :(
