We Rode TRON LightCycle Run at Magic Kingdom! Full Ride Experience, POV, Tour, Review & Helpful Tips

- Join us as we finally ride TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom on the first day of annual passholder previews, with a full ride POV, lots of neat details and tips for you, and of course our initial reactions, honest thoughts and in-depth review with lots of helpful information for you. Walt Disney World's newest ride is an indoor/outdoor straddle roller coaster where users enter the world of Tron to race on a lightcycle! The seating is very unusual as guests straddle a lightcycle as they race through both dark, indoor environments and outdoors! We bring you along for the full passholder preview experience, share some tips we learn during ours, and also for the full experience of riding, with a FULL POV of the ride itself, the queue, theming and surrounding area! We also check out the new tunnel built underneath Tron to take the Walt Disney World Railroad Train through Tomorrowland from Fantasyland! It's neat to see so many changes at Magic Kingdom and a brand new attraction, and we have a lot of information and of course a lot of fun to share with you as we ride and give our review and thoughts after riding! We’ve rode it three times now and it’s amazing! I can’t wait until its official opening! We got to ride front row at night and it seriously a different experience that way and can’t recommend it enough!

Mid 90s Tomorrowland was the best. My favorite land. The neon, music, back story... I miss the entrance arch and the cohesion it once had. Should of kept ExtraTERRORestrail AE

Just got to ride it and it is AMAZING!!! Won't lie, I no joke came off in happy tears simply from how insane that thing is. All I can say is wow. Unreal. A must-do when you visit MK.
I've been on the ride weeks ago. It was definitely a great coaster. Such new concepts of art are welcomed in Orlando.
Tron looks incredible to ride‼️ Can’t wait to go on it when I come back to the park for the first time in years!!
The canopy thing is definitely...a choice. But I LOVE the music and the theming inside the ride itself is really nice!

I'm probably a massive TRON fan but I'm a bit disillusioned to Disney parks because of the cost. I'm pretty stoked that we have this now in the US. Amazing to hear the Daft Punk music and all the Tron Legacy themeing

I am disabled and not so young, so I am amazed to watch you two on this ride. It is visually impressive. It appears a bit intimidating to me. 🏍️🏍️
As short as it is, it's the soundtrack during the ride that sells it. It's so good! I cannot wait to ride it when I go back in a few years! And I agree, it is really, really cool. Especially at night when the ride vehicles light up along with the canopy. I'm glad you had fun! It looks like it was worth it after 5 years in the making
When I rode the Tron ride yesterday, I couldn't feel myself right after the launch. The ending where the orange team got Derezzed, I feel like it was VERY loud. My eardrums were about to blow. XD.
I've got a theory about why "Tron is short" where like, Rock'n'Roller Coaster is just good - just going from ride footage for Tron - but it's Brake runs. Rock'n'Roller Coaster is in separate sections, each brake run gives you a slightly quieter second or so to breathe, then Boom! off again! Take a quick breath, then more! There's three moments in the ride. Whereas Tron is just one smooth, continuous experience, it's all one moment. And yes that's one moment that's the same length as the three on the older ride, but your brain is only taking in one thing which goes by so much faster without those breaths in between.
That chest mount worked perfectly, great angle!

This ride to me looks like so much fun. I like how they make you feel like your walking through the grid and I really enjoyed the music which is the music from the second Tron film. The only thing that would be uncomfortable to me are the bars since I have big calves.

Great information I'm 5' 6' guy so no issues for me at all on these rides. I'm the prefect theme park height. Although I struggle at concerts lol.
Thanks for the head’s up on the pin. Yeah, this ride is going to come down to how comfortable I feel on the light cycle. I’m super glad Tron joins Space Mountain, Buzz Light Year, People Mover. A lovely addition to the “science fiction” part of the park.

Wow! The ride looks awesome! I do agree with both of you, the seating position definitely looks uncomfortable. I used to ride a motorcycle, but I rode a cruiser-style, where you sit up much more like you’re riding a Western style saddle on a horse. That is definitely a more comfortable position. It’s good that they have a more traditional seat available on the trains.
Still, the ride itself, the internal theming, that all looks great! I remember seeing the Original Tron movie in theaters and it was quite an eye-popping experience at the time. One of the first major motion pictures to make a solid attempt to use sophisticated computer graphics in film. The ride does a good job of capturing the feel of that original film.
Jackie, I’ll be looking forward to when you return, once they open the gift shop, be interesting to see what merch they offer.

@@SuperEnthused I wish it was a longer ride but I thought it was a really cool experience and the immersion and theming was spectacular. With it being a virtual queue, I might actually get to ride it again as I can’t wait in lines for 6+ hours!
I’m so glad they have the regular seats at the end of the trains to accommodate people who can’t or won’t ride in the Lightcycle seats. But this is another queue that really messes with my claustrophobia anxiety with that pre-show tunnel and the small pre-show room; I wish they had some sort of warning ahead of time so I could prepare myself!

There's no way I could ride the regular seats but the alternate one in the back seems like Kay and I could enjoy this ride in style. Thank you for all that you do.

That is what I always try to do myself. Kay is a bit older then me and was very shy and backward, but because of me and yes, you & sam in a way. She has come out of her shell somewhat. Thanks again just for being who you are.

Best video on the web about TRON Lightcycle Run, Jackie! Did you know Tron was built by Vekoma Rides? I live near the factory. In the Netherlands you can find the prototype of this roller coaster in the theme park #Toverland, the name of the roller coaster is #BoosterBike. I really like when the ride goes into the dark and all the bright lights were on!! It’s definitely a strange seat positioned, but still looks fun to ride. That’s so cool though that Disney offers other type of seats for people who don’t want to ride the uncomfortable position! That way everyone can ride it!! ❤😊
Good for folk with disabilities who would have difficulty sitting or getting onto the bikes
This reminds me of the Old Steeple Chase ride which was in the old Pirates World in Dania Florida.

I think with virtual queue it will make the line a lot shorter so that should hopefully help! And yep about the shirt haha!

I have only rode one of these types motorbike coasters velocity at flamingo land in the UK I can confirm the restraints are very strange but I rode it so many times that I got used to it. Tron looks a lot better

great POV filming. Of all the vlogs i've seen so far, your POV is the best. I have a much better idea of what tron's like. I'm still not sure if i'll ride it, but it seems like fun. By the way, from the launch it's exactly one minute long. A very short ride.

We’ve been dodging spoilers holding out for this vlog to get first (USA) impressions, because we knew that the Super Enthused installment would cover everything we could ever want to know! 😁 I suspect that the minimalist theming is more an attempt to blend the facade into Tomorrowland against Space Mountain and the Peoplemover, as opposed to being representative of the TRON IP itself. It does look great at night, though! I also can’t even begin to tell you how helpful it is to know that the chest mount is the only approved GoPro harness for the attraction, because we almost always leave our chest mount at home unless we know we’ll need it! Thanks so much for that 🙌🏻 Since Hagrid’s is our top coaster of all time, we are really looking forward to eventually riding TRON. From the POV, I feel like the rumors are true, though - it is definitely seems short 😂 But maybe it’ll feel different when riding. Seems like it’ll be worth the occasional lightning lane splurge, but maybe not the three hour standby it’s sure to get on a busy park day. Also, we have ridden Pony Express, the ride Sam was referring to at Knott’s Berry Farm - one of our favorites in the park! ✨ Thanks for taking us along for your preview day! 😁
For sure, for a virtual queue or lightning lane, awesome. A 3 hour wait? I don’t think so 😂 I made sure to pack the chest strap and the screw thingy the night before too! I actually found it so freeing to use and I was like hmmmm, maybe I’ll use this over the wrist strap more often?? I’m sure you guys will enjoy it and it’s a great addition. You’re right about the outside theming I’m sure too, it does blend but it has that fresh new look so it needs a little weathering 😂

Probably because it took ten thousand years to build and open and has already existed in Shanghai since 2016. But I’m still hyped about it and found it really fun. The main thing is it’s not taking anything away, it’s just adding something new.
First off... The Green Sunglasses are back! Haha! (We need Super Enthused sunglasses!) With that said, this was an awesome way to get my day started today! We're heading to Disney in December and I definitely hope to ride Tron! I'm not the smallest dude, but definitely have high hopes! Also, just a shout out for being so awesome about not taking away from someone else who may need the special seats. My dad is a stroke victim who can't fully use his right side and just personally it means a lot that you guys mentioned that and being so considerate. Anyways, thanks for sharing!!

I can’t ride the TRON LightCycle due to my rods in my back. Imagine if I ride this, I’ll break my rods. So I can’t ride this. But I’m glad you have fun last night. Also I did had fun for me yesterday. I played video games, went to Casino Night, and watched Saturday Night Live with Travis Kelce and Kelsea Ballerini. I did had a blast.
Watching this with lower back pain thinking no way can I do that! lol Looks so cool but ouch.
Yea probably better to try the accessible seat if you have lower back pain, if you can.
It's really neat to see these rides through the podcasters because we can't afford to eat out much less come to Disney World anymore. At least we get to experience it in some way. 🤗
We had our preview this morning and we were pleasantly surprised. It was a lot of fun and super intense. The theming is 🙌. Every time we get a virtual que for Cosmic Rewind we end up in the first boarding groups and have to book it to Epcot first thing. I'm not looking forward to the TTC/ virtual que combination.
Oh man… TTC and VQ…. Noooooooo!!!!! You’re so right w guardians too, the same thing happens to us. They’ll usually let you on later if you’re late for your VQ, but we never wanna chance it 😂

The most important thing though is that we now have a walkway between the backside of fantasyland and tomorrowland again ;) Haha, thank you Jackie!!
YES, so true, Cris, now the walkway is open back there which is really cool, more ways to get around the park and not have to walk aaallllll the way fro the back of Storybook Circus to get back to Tomorrowland!! Thank you, Cris!!

I tried to bribe my way on a few times while there last week.
I tried the test seat in 2020 when it was beside Light & Power company. What I would compare it to is the Avatar FOP seat.
Your descriptions of it definitely made me more excited for it than some others, and your POV definitely seemed longer.
I'm still a little sad I never met you while out there. 🤞 for next time, whenever that may be.

I think Tomorrowland would be cool as a steampunk land similar to rukburg at phantasialand they could have a flying coaster like fly a dark ride of sorts and many interactive valves that make small steam things move

I got to ride TRON last night, it was so much fun! We waited an hour and 20 minutes for the ride, I probably would not wait that long again, but it was really fun! The front row was crazy

I use the same kinda Chest rig for Nerf Games, (Sorry i havent been around, been mega Busy lately) I often found it bobs up a bit unless i weigh them down with a couple of rival Kronos Blaster holsters. But last time i played last Saturday, i used an Osmo 2 pocket instead of a go pro on the screw camera mount, worked pretty well. One idea to try for tron, next time you ride if you wanna try it, if you have one or can borrow one, is to get an osmo 2, use the same chestrig with a screw camera mount, put the Pov all the way up on the gymbal as your in the cycle, and see what you get. Still looked good even without a gymbal using hypersmooth, but its an idea and im nowhere near Florida to try it.

I think I’d ride in the back in the regular seat. Those bikes seem a bit confining and possibly a bruise waiting to happen on your calves. Thank you for your very informative video.
Totally, it’s like I said, if I wasn’t taking the seat from someone who really needed it, I’d love to try the back too. Hopefully one day I can. But for those who need it for whatever reason, I’m so glad it’s there!
I’m on the heavier side so I think the regular seat would fit me better😂

Coney Island had a similar ride at Luna park but that was demolished long ago like 1940s or 50s. It was replaced by a Steeplechase coaster which is the same concept but you ride horses.
Yes we rode a staple chase coaster at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, remember? Love those historic seaside amusement park rides. Obviously a totally different thing tho.
I cannot wait to ride Tron! I waiting in the AP virtual que for 3 hours and they sold out so whomp whomp...I'll have to wait til it opens. But, I'm excited!
They sell out so fast, Sam was able to get ours but it didn’t work for me at all! But excited it will be open soon so we can ride moooore!

When you get off if you forget your locker number there's a screen and if you scan your magic band it will tell you your locker number.
