I love this mount and have two of them. This is the only mount, I’ve seen, that allows to have forward incline of joysticks. Though there is a minor issue with included parts. Step at 5:00 is impossible, because it requires two more m5 washers, which all are already used up at previous steps. Each of two of my kits includes four hugely oversized washers instead of normal size m5 washers. Those huge washers are not used anywhere and it would be great to replace them with four ones of normal m5 size. Thanks!
@VKB Sim I have the UCM-S GL mount in front of me right now, ready for assembly. Just wanted to shoot you guys a suggestion: I thínk it's pretty clever to ship the larger parts "assembled" to minimize "in-package footprint"... but perhaps mention the fact that you have to take it all apart before you can start the "real" assembly. Didn't find it mentioned anywhere in the package or on the small leaflet included with the mount. Not saying others won't be able to figure this out on their own (I mean.. even I managed that), but it might not be a bad idea to mention that fact *somewhere*. :)
Haha, I just thought the same thing, got mine in the mail now and started assembly, but I was so confused before I realized I had to take it apart, lol.
@@KiteOfTheAzureFlame - To be fair, you will see it mentioned several times in the posted reviews on their website. But many of those comments were made two years ago, and they promised to improve the instructions. It's very sad to see that two YEARS later, said promise has failed to materialise.
How much does it really cost to toss in some directions? A QR code to your UA-cam NOT even to this specific video is just low effort guys. Be better. That said, great quality once put together.
It looks like you can mount a vertical SEM on that front slope of the desk mount. On the website there's even what looks like extra screw holes where those front plates are.
If you're referring to this vkbcontrollers.com/products/ucm-mounting-panel, then yes, it's a recent addition that allows installing vertical modules on the UCM.
How do you put the MkIII on the mounting plate with just the dust cover up top, as compared to over videos where the entire gunfirghter is sitting atop of the mounting plate?
Like others folks have mentioned, I ran out of M5 washers, and also did not know how to assemble the keyboard/phone and drink holders without a link someone provided to the VKB forums. This should be added to the video or included in a knowledgebase article of some type perhaps linked from the product page.
Just ran out of M5 washers on installation today. Seems to be too short per set of desk mounts. Can’t quite understand why they wouldn’t include everything in the video, nor why they would not address this issue.
The only issue is with the plate where the gimbal gets installed - the original plates are a bit too small; but, once the GFIV base has been released, we also updated the UCM mounting plates too. So, if you have the UCM for a while now, the GFIV base most probably won't fit it - please get in touch with the local vendor, provide proof that you own the UCM and GFIV and they'll ship you the new plate.
If you refer to the updated, perforated bracket that allows attaching the NXT modules to the UCM system, then unfortunately no; only 1 allowed on the short mount. But you could drill your own holes in the other bracket; the material is soft and shouldn't have issues drilling into it with proper tools.
@@VKBSim This is great, thanks! Also: can the multi-functional holder be attached to the UCM? Some have also mentioned that the bolt pattern of the FSM module isn't compatible with the mounting plate. Is this true?
I just watched this video and ... I realized that I have to work a little to get mt desk mount ready. I'm not sure if this mount is worthed if compared to other ones (monsterte**). What do you guys think about it?
How do you mount the Keyboard mounting. Is 2 pieces a: a long "Y" piece goes at top and a phone holder at bottom. I cannot figure out how to mount it on the Long mounting hardware. Anyone out there know how? What screws, bolts, etc. and whore to use them?

Here I sit one year later assembling mine and the same issue remains. It’s no big deal though. Reckon I’ll email them just to give a heads up
@@Mecharuva Same here, I hope using those medium sized washers (not the giant ones) causes no issues....
Ditto, a year later, short two M5 washer's for connecting the clamp arms to the mounting plate arms.
I used the big ones for the joystick mount since they fit and don’t show. 100% agree with the complaint though
always supprised how the exact issue i have always appears in the comments

Thanks. I'm staring at my and this video and was wondering the same.
This bit me just now... GREAT product, TERRIBLE instructions.
This is the only place anywhere I could find confirmation that I am supposed to take it apart first. Thank you.

Dont forget to peel the protective plastic on the desk clamp rubber feet, otherwise they wont grip properly to the desk!
Doin' the Lord's work, you are. I never would have thought of this without seeing this comment.
How do I connect a gladiator nxt evo?
What if I want to assemble it in the short configuration?
Like this: imgur.com/a/2FU4IvB. Works in all configurations.
Is the top clamp angle changeable? My desk has a slight incline on top and is not a square edge from the front.
It is not, sorry.
what are the extra parts included for?

The australian VKB store info says this works with gunfighter MK. IV joysticks, the european store one denies direct compatibility. Which is correct?

Can you install the clamps with just 1 screw each side?
My desk has a slanted edge and I was hoping it would let the clamp conform to the slant.
did you try it? my table also have a nice slanted edge of about 2cm and I am not sure if it is enough
Can a 2nd mounting plate be added? I want to put the FSM module on top and the vertical SEM module under it.

@@josuedepaz4282 It's true, they're not compatible, but a drill machine and a strong will would overcome that :)

is background grid pattern in cm or inches please?
Count the number of divisions between each round number, there are 8, so it's inches.

Hey Ron, if you haven't figured it out yet, here's a guide I found: forum.vkb-sim.pro/viewtopic.php?t=4270
Why is there no guide for the gl variant?
All's the same, except of the mounting plate; here's a guide to get that installed: imgur.com/a/QmAZUjP
got 4 bigger washers in the bag , I guess it's for the plate? but video use small washers
Wow. $40 - $46 dollars for shipping of this product.
We're sorry, but we're no Amazon to afford to swallow up the shipping costs.
@@VKBSim I understand. I was just a little shocked is all. Purchased one.
Only 8 standard m5 washers in a set, instructions call for 10. 4 on desk arms 4 on slider deck, 2 in final brace point mid mount…
for the future people, i just used the a pair of the big washers since they dont seem to go anywhere else
screws on the top of the table is not good solution... poor poor table top...
It’s a clamp, those screws adjust the tightness of the clamp
